Hello aspiring writers of TL.

By suggestion of the TL writing topic, I decided to open a topic dedicated towards the writing of a short story, in the form of a contest.
Rather than it being a simple dumping ground for short stories, it will feature an actuall prize.
The winner of the (possible first) short story contest will be allowed to pick one game from Steam at 30 euros or less, and I will gift it to them.

The rules:
The short story must be between 2.000 and 10.000 words. No longer, no shorter.
The story must in some way adhere to the theme or keyword that is provided.
The winner will be decided by a panel of judges, not voting.
Each contestant may only submit one story and stories will only be valid if they are sent before the deadline.
All genres are allowed.

Rule clarification
The keyword/theme will be provided in each incarnation of this contest.
The deadline will be at the end of April. After April, the judges will read all the submissions and decide the winner.
The only judge on the panel at this point is me. Anyone that wishes to apply as a judge can sent a mail. You can only judge if you are willing to read all the stories.
Stories will not be punished for infrequent grammar mistakes, but stories that are so messy that they can't be read will be trashed.

Submissions are only valid until the end of April. Once the contest is over, the judges will begin to read the stories and select the winner.

So lenght and theme word are the only limitations? I might give it a try, but I warn you, I specialize in elaborate mindfucks hidden under innocent nonsense xD

I would love to partake. I'd also be very interested in another contest based solely in micro-fiction. Always been one of my favorite genres. Looking forward to it!

This. Will you be judging on how you/the other judges enjoyed it, or will it be a more technical judging, or will it be a mix?
Or will you throw all the stories into a hat and draw a winner?

But 2-10k word short story I could do to kill some time. Night is a good theme to work with.

the BL poison would kill me by the time I am done, stock on yuri manga for me incase I collapse to the poison.
