Notice that he doesn't send a probe to scout my location on a ladder match and that he doesn't even use observers the entire game.

This person is a hacker. Not sure where to post this so I posted it here, please move this thread TL if it is supose to be in a different location.

Thx!

I've met him on the ladder. Proxy gates in my nat on Antiga, even looks at my main through the fog of war, no doubt.

I reported him, I don't think there is much more you can do... I reported him 2 days ago and he doesn't even try to hide his maphack, it's sad that Blizzard still didn't take any action

Edit: Here is my replay if people need an obvious proof: http://drop.sc/81752

Not sure if correct forum, but he's definitely a maphacker, watched through fog of war in the weird starport spot. I like how he was being especially obvious about it too roflmao.

What worries me the most about this is the fact that a 13 years old can maphack like this for more than 3-4 days, imagine if someone put some effort into hiding it... It makes me scared that I may have played way more than 1 maphacker in my life...

It would be cool if Blizzard would do something like iCCup did some time ago (When they catched Clazziquai and a lot of other people). Update your anti-hack but don't inform anyone about it and then 1 week later, come off with a big list of names of maphackers and such. Idk if they're allowed to do that though...

Yeah, that sounds smart. Instead of like: "Hi guys! We just want to give all you maphackers a warning that we will be looking for you as of next week!".

If I gave a shit you'd be the first to get it!

another replay where he didn't scout with a probe and magicly knows what and where and how to counter you.

Managed to win this one with an all-in, regaurdless still hacked.

The good sc2 maphacks are external only and display opponents production tab and minimap information in a seperate window, so you just play SC2 in windowed mode with those windows on the side. They also directly access memory and don't touch SC2.exe etc. So basically undetectable by blizzard. they've also been available and 150,000+ views of the site since beta

TMYK

Basically watching someones player cam indicates nothing and rules out nothing assuming they use an external maphack. Meaning SC1 style detection of looking for clicks on enemy buildings or watching their view doesn't work with SC2.

There is actually a research paper written on how basically all RTS with sc2 style networking are vulnerable to external maphacks that only touch memory.

Well, I can't watch your replays right now, but if they are as obvious as mine, there is no need for any discussion about whether he is maphacking or not.

You can clearly tell the guy is map hacking by using his view/1st person view. You will notice that during the reply he is looking straight at ruff's base when clearly there is no vision there at all. This tells us that he wasn't stream hacking and was map hacking.

Blizzard has a "ban wave" policy which means they will periodically ban batches of accounts. Therefore, if you report a maphacker and he is obviously guilty, it can take up to 2 months for him to get banned.

The current external maphacks are not as sophisticated as described in the paper, it would be possible to make it more difficult, through obscurity, for the hack developers.

Well since it uses memory and doesn't actually modify any starcraft files or sc2.exe its against Sc2 terms of service to scan your computer it will NEVER EVER be detected. which is why its safe to user external hacks
