Hero!!!
Thoughts on contributing one win to end the team’s losing streak?
-My winrate when I play the first game hasn’t been high, so to be able to invigorate the team from game 1 makes me happy. Even though we were behind, Modesty played well, so luckily we won in the end.
Your ZvP is very strong.
-My planned build wasn’t to mass Hydras, but the opponent did a 2 Stargate build, but didn’t get any Overlords, so I thought if I made a batch of Hydras he couldn’t defend it.
Was it difficult being in a losing streak?
-It’s been a long time since we met anything like this. We couldn’t realize the goal of getting first place, but during the losing streak, we felt a lot of different things. If we can start performing well now, it’s fully possible for us to get to the finals.
Must be jealous of KT for getting to finals directly.
-Very jealous, but not enviously so. We’ll just secure second place and then defeat KT. Right now we can only focus on ourselves.
Reason for the slump?
-When Calm and Kal slump, the team slumps, but I believe they’re still superb players. Today, Modesty, Frozean, and I created the victory, so it seems very meaningful. The aces can revive at any second.
Last words?
-First off, our empty bench strategy – if we can wait in the waiting room, we don’t have to maintain a façade for the camera. We can talk and laugh together, and it builds team unity. And today, it seems to be true. Before, if we sat on the bench, we’d have to stay there and be quiet and calm, but today, everyone would cheer and laugh together, and the atmosphere would be maintained. It’s just a way to end the slump, I hope everyone doesn’t give us too hard of a time for it, and I hope the fans can forgive us.
Thoughts on the remaining games?
-In R1, we had a 5 loss streak that was followed by a 9 win streak. If we can do the same, then we’ll have hope for winning the finals. I hope everyone works together for a good result.
Modesty!!!
Thoughts on winning?
-First, to be able to win against another race and not a ZvZ makes me very happy. And I’m glad to have helped end the team’s losing streak.
Did you expect Hyvaa?
-I predicted if it wasn’t Hyvaa it’d be Really. The head coach believed in me, so he let me play. If it was Hyvaa, it would’ve been easier, but even if it’s Really, if I played like in practice, it’d be fine. Also, before the game, coach Park gave me some advice, which helped me a lot.
You did 2 hatch Mutas with no Sunkens.
-It was a very spontaneous strategy. I felt if the MnM came, I could defend even without Sunkens, and the result was so. My Mutalisk micro can’t be considered top notch usually, but July-hyung often tells us “Mutalisks are all about atmosphere and momentum,” which left a deep impression on me, so I focused on the Muta micro. [T/N: I wish I could translate July’s quote better, doesn’t really convey the same sense of “lolepicownage” the original did.]
It must’ve been difficult during the slump.
-Even though we were slumping I still believe we can win again and get to the finals, so it wasn’t a huge impact. The coaching staff also helped to create an environment where we can be revived. I believe from this victory, we can start to go on a winning streak again.
Thoughts on the remaining games?
-We must win all the games and ensure our second place spot, and then we can happily win in the playoffs. This is our goal. I hope it gets realized.
Last words?
-Before, on Calm-hyung’s birthday, Calm Café’s fans gifted us fried chicken to the practice house, and I want to tell them it was good. We haven’t even had a chance to do an interview, and I haven’t had the chance to tell them thanks.
Cuteangel!!!
You saved the team from the slump, thoughts?
-I’m very glad to have won. When I made a huge mistake in the game, I suddenly had a vision of everyone’s faces. Because everyone was cheering for me with all their heart, I was able to overcome the difficulties and win in the end. It was a meaningful victory.
What is the mistake you’re talking about?
-When I saw my Goliathes had an overwhelming advantage, I thought I could just attack, and during this, I was put in danger.
Did you know you were playing ace?
-Including me, a lot of people were preparing for ace. Considering the Zergs and Really, we all mainly practiced vZ and vT.
You were in a 5 loss streak.
-We’re also puzzled just what happened, and we’re experimenting with different things to break out. We need to get a good result in the end of the round.
Yesterday KT secured first place.
-We had set the goal of getting first, and it’s saddening thinking back to the confidence we had back then. If we could’ve got to the grand finals directly, we would’ve had more time to prepare, but now SKT and etc. are now catching up, so we can’t think about that. We’re about to face ACE, and even though we’re ahead, their momentum is really good right now too.
STX has a weak Terran lineup.
-It’s true that out of the 12 teams, STX’s Terrans are near the bottom. But in the remaining games, we’ll perform well, and we’ll be challenging them in the playoffs, and we should do better. Even though Hwasin left [T/N: T____T], all the other players are working hard.
Last words?
-Recently, we’re experimenting with our empty bench strategy, but the fans haven’t responded well. We’re only doing this so we can freely discuss strategies in the waiting room, but it’s true we can’t be in front of the camera. We’re only doing this because of the slump, it doesn’t mean we’re inconsiderate of the fans. After the season ends, we’ll do a lot of things for the fans, and I hope everyone can temporarily bear with us. Also, I’m a Catholic, and today is St. Paul’s day. My baptized name is Paul, so it’s a special day for me. Lastly, recently, coach Park has been practicing with us until very late, and he’s very tired, I hope he gets some rest and can celebrate with us.
