i was wondering if someone could help me w/ starcraft 2 graphics
my graphics card is really really bad, my computer can barely handle it.
i have like a 1 second delay wheni move my screen around and stuff.
my graphics for sc2 is all on low

so i was wondering if there is a way to make my sc2 graphics worse so my fps is all smooth and clean, this is a video of what im talking about:

You probably don't have textures or w/e that is called turned to low. It doesn't change with the graphics setting options.

no its turned to low, everything is either low or off, i've checked like 10 times..

If you mean the opening where day9 says he is fixing his fps, I'm pretty sure he just turned everything to minimum, or closed programs running in the background.

I don't think there is a config file to lower settings beyond what is in the gui, but I could be mistaken.
You will probably have to upgrade your video card.

You can try using Game Booster which shuts down all non essential programs.

i upgraded my video card right before i actually started downloading sc2.
and there is a way to decrease the graphics.

i remember seeing a guy on livestream, streaming a game w/ worst graphics than the day9 video i shared above.

Are you sure its your video card thats holding you back? whats your full pc specs? gamebooster might help quite a bit if its a ram or cpu bottleneck.

edit: also what resolution are you playing at? the resolution will default to your monitors/video cards max. Make sure you reduce it to a level you can play at smoothly.

You can actually set a max framerate which will really make it much smoother. On my laptop I have set that cap to 30 fps.

add this line (you can set the value you want):
frameratecap=30

to the variables file at (this is in windows 7):
C:\Users\<your user>\Documents\StarCraft II Beta\Variables.txt

so what is your video card? under a certain threshold it will be just hopeless as games have a certain optimal system in mind where things will run great. if you are far below that, a modern game on low settings will look worse and run worse than an older game with settings on high.

as someone had said, it's texture settings.. there are other settings in control panel->display->advanced or the nvidia control panel. Just turn all the options to "performance" over "quality" like antialiasing, etc.. if everything is on low, there is nothing else you can do but upgrade your graphics card/computer. I have a decent set up but I still play on low because it's higher fps anyhow so even if you get it work "okay" it probably won't be good enough.

i dont think a 3(?) year old integrated gpu will do any better even with some tricks.

It wont be able to handle the 3D models i guess, even if you would remove all textures it will stutter and you cant tweak in new models.
Maybe in a really low resolution, but that would just be annoying.

Use the lowest resolution you can, also check out the nvidia control panel and set it to optimal performance.

I'm a little confused, you said you upgraded your graphics card, but your using your mother boards integrated graphics option.

Did you put a card into the computer? or did you upgrade your motherboard?
If you put a card into the motherboard make sure your monitor is connected to the video card, not the motherboard.

This may seem a bit silly, but sometimes people do make these mistakes.

Your best option with that video card is to try to set timings in your ram as low as possible without your PC crashing, that will give you a little boost.

If you are unsatisfied with your in game performance after turning all in game settings to the lowest possible and turning on all performance options in your graphics card control panel, then there is nothing left for you to do other than get a new graphics card. Unless someone finds a workaround to make graphics even worse giving higher performance but this game is extremely lenient already. For around $50+ you can get a proper one.

If you upgraded your video card it is possible that SC is for some reason using your integrated GPU, while it should be using your dedicated GPU instead.

So did you actually upgrade your video card or not?

Make sure when selecting a resolution that you choose 16-bit color, not 32-bit, it makes probably the most significant difference of any of the settings there, especially on the amount of RAM used.

Sadistx: It's using whichever video card his monitor is plugged into, or he wouldn't be able to see the game at all.

I'm not sure if you can lower your graphics below the lowest settings listed in the game. But if you play in window mode and make the window even smaller by dragging the corner, your fps should be higher, although I'd be harder to play like that.

If your video card is the nvidia 7050 integrated you will not run SC2 at any setting.
