Check out any of the games in here - http://mafiascum.net/forum/viewforum.php?f=2 Zero mod clues. The rest of the site has interesting things but a lot of the games have many many many twists, extra roles, etc. This subforum has most of the normal ones. (Of course, they're a mafia community, so its much easier for them to play clueless, but it's quite possible.)

The moon was fresh in the sky this eerily cold evening in the town of Liquidia, and the town quiet, not so much as a mouse stirring. A small meeting was arranged to discuss the disturbing discovery of a coded manifesto retrieved by an intrepid spy known by the name of DapperDan. Shortly after decoding it the message was clear: Liquidia was in grave danger. Mafia had been infesting the quiet town for the past decade taking up positions of importance and gaining trust through misguided joy and position. One thing was clear to the both of them, the mafia needed to be stopped. Along with the letter Dapperdan carried a list of members in the mafia. With the intention to shut them down quickly they had called the town meeting. Chuiu had just finished writing his speech to be given out the following morning in the town square before the time for festivities of love when he heard the terrible roar of noise and footsteps. Quickly he got up and went to the door, curious about the commotion this late at night when the door swung open hitting him and shoving him back into his desk. Weary he looked up to several people in the room, just as soon one man began speaking. "Who knows about us?" Chuiu was aghast, the mafia had come for him sooner than he had planned. With no bodyguard protection he was sure to die this evening. He stuttered, trying to find words "I ... ju ... only DapperDan and I know of your treachery so far ... I fear I'm short of finding help". It was the truth, unfortunately, he hadn't thought to share this with anyone else yet. One of the mafia kicked down on one side of his chest, his muddy boots sliding off almost causing him to lose balance. A few of them laughed but one of them cut the laughter short, scolding them for their immature actions. Another stepped up to Chuiu with a knife in his hand and said "I'll take care of this, he's been a thorn in my side since the day I got here". Chuiu looked up once again to see his executioner, "You're never going to be trusted iaaagh" the knife pierced his throat quickly, in seconds he was dead. DapperDan awoke from the muffled screams coming from across the hall, he quickly got up and searched for his gun. 'Not in the drawer where I left it', he thought, as someone stepped out of the shadows. "We knew there was a spy amongst us, but I never thought it would be you! Well you played a good game, but now its over and its time to meet your maker", he said as he aimed the gun for DapperDan's head. Click. Click click click click. DapperDan chuckled lightly to himself, "I filled it with blanks - you're looking for these...", he extended his hand to reveal the much needed ammunition. He shoved past the lone mafia into the hallway just in time to see the group leaving Chuiu's room. Turning the opposite direction he ran frantically towards the staircase when he suddenly lost balance. Standing in the shadows was yet another man in waiting, he had been pushed. DapperDan struggled to stop himself as he came crashing down the stairs, but it was no use. Dazed he struggled to his feet while searching for anything to be used as a weapon. He had just spotted a plain letter opener on the table nearby him when he felt the cold steel of a much more desired weapon in his back. The blow had fatally wounded DapperDan, and he came crashing to the ground. "That was low, even for you" said another mafia. "Who cares where I stab him, all is fair" he protested, cleaning the knife as he turned around to face the other. "Fine, but we must leave quick now, grab his body, bring it with you". They needed not be quick, though, with more than a few hours to spare they moved the bodies to the town square. As if ceremoniously, one of the mafia bowed with an arm extended, and they departed as a group to get much needed rest for the day to come. Word spread quickly throughout the town. Much to be expected when the mayor and his close friend were found dead and bloody at the podium with a note attached. It read "we're in town, and we're here to stay" signed the Team Liquid Mafia. Everyone knew what must be done, it was time to elect a new leader to take care of this threat. [noClueArea] Time to elect the Mayor. Anyone may run for mayor and anyone may vote for anyone but themselves. The runner up in the mayor election becomes the pardoner and the mayor gets to lynch one person of his choice as soon as he's elected, marking the move to night. When night comes mafia must collectively send me their hits, other special roles that are allowed to act first night may do the same.

Or does he forfeit the previous role? And if he does shouldn't it be notified to the public, or else they might be "hunting" for one more that doesn't exist? He retains his role. Same goes with pardoner. On February 11 2008 15:54 Tracil wrote: Man, mafiascum. I have different problems with how play. They do have smaller games, but geez, they have days last for weeks. Ok how about this then, you're not playing their mafia games. You're playing mine. If you didn't like it to begin with you shouldn't have signed up.

First and foremost, if editing *is* allowed, then it should frowned upon anyway, so if you catch someone editing their post be sure to call it out, even if they later say it's just for some spelling mistake or whatever. Far more likely scum will want to edit posts than good, loyal townies! Conversly, if you call someone out on editing a post and they haven't actually done it, be prepared for some serious pain. Secondly, if you're a townie, don't lie. Ever. If we catch someone lying, we must lynch them, and lynch them quickly! Only mafiso have reason to lie. Thirdly, if you have any special abilities, that's awesome. Don't tell anyone. Giving away your special abilities is akin to painting a 'kill me' sign on your back for the mafia, who obviously don't want you around. Only disclose your role if it would be immediately useful to do so (for instance, if it looks like you may be lynched and it'd be a waste of your powers, or if you're positive you can out mafia by claiming.) Use them as you see fit, don't let people whine for paramedic protection and give into it, your own judgement is paramount. (unless you're the pardoner, in which case you shouldn't use it pretty much ever unless you think the mayor is scum. If the town has decided to kill someone, don't start being arrogant and thinking that just because you have some role power you deserve to dictate the game, 'cos you don't, and I will treat using this power without an incredibly good reason as a serious scumtell.) Fourthly, I suggest we elect someone who has played mafia in the past to be mayor. I nominate myself (of course), but if anyone else wants to step up, they should. Remember, if you're mayor, you are in a position of power and are difficult to kill; if you don't actually think you'd be capable or likely to contribute strongly to the game, I feel inclined to discourage you from trying. Finally, try to post at least once a day and talk about the situation. Idle comments are generally bad, actually try to instigate some detective work and out some scum. Basically, make it hard for scum themselves to lie low- if we rigorously question and lynch people who don't participate, that forces scum to talk, which makes it more likely they'll say something dumb and reveal their true colours.
