Imagine if HerO does well at MLG. He's a player who gets multiple times stronger if he has the confidence. I hope he can get it back somehow since he's said in a few interviews that he doesn't feel like his game is working out for him T_T

Please don't forfeit out of WCS Korea

He is forfeiting to go to MLG no matter what according to the TL writers.

Which makes me REALLY sad...

scheduling conflicts stink.

But, i thought it was that if he wins and qualifies, he doesn't have to drop out anymore. It will just be hell schedule again for a little while.

I don't understand why you wouldn't take the chance to win a direct seed to the WCS Grand Finals. There's only sex seeds on the line in WCS Asia...

Apparently MLG gets higher priority for some reason? But again, I think if he wins he doesn't have to withdraw. The forfeit talk was earlier before he got knocked to loser's bracket, I think.

You cannot postpone any games after the ones played on Wednesday as the tournament is set to be concluded on Saturday.

A very reasonable explanation for HerO going to MLG no matter the outcome of his games versus Reality and against Polt should he win against the former is that Liquid wants him there? Or that he simply accepted the invitation prior to knowing about WCS' schedule. We do not know whether this is the choice of HerO, of Liquid or of the sponsors. Or whether it was as simple as having signed on before knowing about the scheduling conflict.

At any rate, hope all the fans merely wish for all the best in the world for him and cheer him on wherever he goes.

I just wish he committed full out to what he started...
All these forfeits ruins what could've been the best WCS...

I doubt he's to blame for it.
Teams schedule for their players, and tournaments in general still seem to do a piss awful job of talking with eachother, except when they're in random "alliances" with one another.

More like MLG doesn't talk with anyone. They've scheduled stuff at the same time as IEM, DreamHack, Asus ROG and big GOM events

he has to forfeit anyway since the wcs finals are on the 25th but the important thing is that he gets in the top 16 to qualify for the wcs asia

Not quite correct. Top 10 qualify to WCS Asia. HerO is already in top 16. If he advances today, he is in top 12. To get into top 10 HerO needs to either win tomorrow (top 8), or win the consolation match(es) for 9th/10th place this Saturday (which clashes with MLG).

ah I see, I got confused by the top 16 prize, I thought that they all get a seed

That confused the hell out of me too, so it took me a while before I found out how the seeding worked.

Top10 will make WCS Asia. We were encouraged by Mr. Chae to have HerO play WCS Korea even though he'd have to forfeit the later rounds because he could make top10 before leaving for MLG. :-)

Edit: Getting pool play at MLG and getting into the circle of being in the arenas and pool play for next tournaments as well is extremely big and important for any player who wish to participate in foreign tournaments. Making top10 at WCS Korea is the important part for HerO of this tournament and then go to MLG and have a great tournament, possibly even winning it.

When he returns from MLG, he will play his up/down matches for Code S as well on the 29th.

It's not really about luck. This has been planned before WCS Korea started and was encouraged by Mr. Chae. The flights has been booked for a while as well.

Thanks Bumblebee for the information. Too many players getting called unprofessional for forfeit. Good to know that there was communication with GOM and they were ok with it.

It is good to know that Mr. Chae encouraged this. I was a bit worried that HerO forfeiting after Top8 would be seen in a bad light by GOM.
I have a good feeling about HerO in the coming tournament matches, his play looked much more confident this time than against Soulkey. Sometimes you have up and downs (no pun intended), and it looks like it is an up for HerO now

I just meant that once get bad luck in my life, then it usually accelerates exponentially
Also, why did he play in WCS if he knew he wouldn't be able to commit full out? Sorry but I just feel so wrong to forfeit one tournament and directly go to another one

As explained in my post that you replied to: HerO can make top10 WCS Korea which is a ticket to WCS Asia before going to MLG. We originally talked about pulling out of the tournament before its beginning, but Mr. Chae encouraged HerO to play and HerO really wants to make WCS Asia.

BTW Bumblebee, when HerO wins the game tmr against Polt, is he qualified top ten asia? Does he have to win more?
