The way we raised from 0-2 to 2-2 vs portugal was beautiful and showed we can come back even after being down so bad and that we're capable of it. I was really optimistic tho that we could make it through with germany especially when they're our neighbours <3 when it was 1-1 and holland had 1-0 i prayed for it to stay like that til 90min xD Beating netherlands and making portugal sweat a little was more than most of the world thought we could do ![]()

Denmark needed a win desperately to go through, yet they elected to defend with 10 men while the score was 1:1. If Germany would have gone all out attack to try and secure the win, they would have been extremely vulnerable on the counter. Big parts of the second half may not have been the most attractive German football we have seen. It was smart football though, keeping possession for the most part, attacking, trying to find a gap in the 10 men defense, but not throwing everything at them. It was only when Denmark realized that this way they won't create enough chances (if any) that they moved up and tried attacking themselves, and subsequently became vulnerable on the counter.
