This thread is for discussing recent bans. Don't discuss other topics here. Take it to website feedback if you disagree with a ban or want to raise an issue. Keep it civil.NOTE: For those of you who want to find the actual ABL thread where the bans are posted. Please look in here: https://tl.net/forum/closed-threads/ |

We can (and usually try to) uncheck the public ban list post for advertising bans, but it always defaults to checked. What about changing the default? Remembering to check it for bans might be hard, but they happen so rarely anyway it seems like the better default behavior. That sounds good, but I doubt R1CH has enough free time to deal with something trivial like that.

If we change the default it will create an equal or worse problem, such as people forgetting to check the box for the juicy bans.

Coding something like “if the ban reason is advertising, don’t post the ban” would be the best solution. Moot if there’s no one to code it.

Whenever I see PBU my brain always wants to pronounce it as Pube

If someone can excavate more of the lineage, I would be grateful. I mean there is like 100 names but the most recent that lasted a while was doc.rivers and then the furthest back one is doodsmack. That would be my educated guess, based on our long friendship.

If you're gonna be a PBU, at least conceal it better by posting about BW or SC2 or Dota for a month. Immediately rushing to the politics threads and a few cursory posts about other games is just too obvious. I guess the allure of continuing petty rivalries and getting into political slap fights on the forums is just that potent on TL.

he's not exactly playing with a full deck, he believes all the dumb ass deep state crap.

I wonder what goes on in the mind of someone that keeps posting the same useless post over and over again only to immediately get banned.

I would have been willing to talk about it in PMs, but before you even gave me a chance to think about replying to you you started issuing threats, so even if I was wrong for the original ban, there's not going to be another chance for you.
As for your real side:
Original Message From YautjaHunting: Except I’m not but whatever, guess we’ll just have to take down the website at some point. Thank you for banning someone for a false reason. Show nested quote +Original Message From TL.net Bot: You have been banned by tofucake.
Reason: Previously banned user.
Getting banned out of the blue, wth? Guess I’ll start taking down TL staff, you’re welcome

We have so many lurkers that wait years to post, have the same beliefs, like to post in the same threads, post at a high rate, then once rejected they make multiple accounts, throw tantrums and claim mass injustice, all while proving why the ban was justifiable.

Makes sense if you think about it. They're probably all kids that joined just for the Starcraft way back and then have been getting radicalized over the internet with conspiracy theory mongering and are now they're older and looking to pick fights online.
