It's okay, half the deserving candidates get rejected at the interview process anyway. I know far too many amazing people that have been declined for no good reason (it certainly wasn't their grades).

I did the Auckland Uni med course, it is hard and they can be unforgiving, but the interview processes does seem to sniff out some of the weirdos that apply. I didn't make the cut grade wise, but I can understand how it can be a little mean considering how far you would have come. Personally it was a blessing in disguise, I hated the political side of the health science degree (one of the reasons I did so badly) I was doing and what I'm doing currently is way way way more fun (Mechatronic Engineering).

Anyway woooooo GSL finals, looking forward to it!

It's not that bad actually, most people that don't get are either weirdos - or didn't get straight A+'s in their core subjects. If you achieve both of those there is a 80%+ chance you'll get in.

don't mean to be a party popper but are you sure people who don't have after hour access to the Engineering building are allowed in? you don't want those campus security bastards crash the party man... I wonder if F&P room in the business school/Info Common would be a better venue?

nah dude it's all gud. sunkee, the guy whos organizing it, is the vice prez of engineering and he's got the hookups. last time he even got one of the main lecture rooms! as long as people don't behave in a retarded fashion it should be fine and going by the standards of the last event, starcraft fans tend to be pretty well behaved
