Terran in the light blue looks very plastic. But I like the fact that the units are distinct, and we're not staring at gears of war where you enemies are the same dull gray as the concrete environment.

I always thought the Thor would be really, really huge. But here it's quite equal to the Colossus and the Ultralisk.

I just realized the minerals in the drone's claws look really strange! It's a really minor details but the texture seems so crude compared to the rest. It definitely doesn't look like they were going for a "crude" look, it just seems to be badly designed. But whatever, it could stay that way I wouldn't care the least bit. I just want the game : )

Hrm, it looks good and I can distinguish the units fairly easily. Man I hope SC2 makes BCs viable!

Yah. the lings look like maggots, something crawling on walls or under stones. I have seen much better renders made by fans and by Blizzard when they were just fucking around. If Blizzard is lost then they should use the hellhound render from WC3 for fuck sake. The concept of the zergling is not hard to grasp, so why do they have trouble translating it into visual art.
Maybe it looks better in game when zerglings are in motion.

You're repeating things people have already said and things that don't need to be said because they're either obvious or completely subjective. I don't really see the contribution.

It had already stated that we don't know what it is, and "too flashy to be a death animation," is a value judgement without evidence. You're forgetting that the are many units we have yet to see die, and that the death animations may have gotten changed around and possibly made even more 'flashy' since the first battle report. You also may have not taken into account that this is a screenshot - and that one frame of gameplay isn't enough to know whether or not an animation is too big, because for all you know in the next frame it could be half that size.

Nobody cares that you think the infestor is perfect, or that you think the queen is easy to differentiate. You must state why, otherwise you've wasted the reader's time. I guess you could look at your sentence as stating that the infestor is perfect because it's easy to differentiate from the queen, but that makes little sense. In that case, the infestor might as well be rainbow-colored.

I guess it's a valid point that you find it hard to differentiate, however you may want to work this problem out yourself instead of suggesting it could be a problem on Blizzard's end. Nobody else has a hard time finding him; also, looking at units in still shots is much different from looking at them in action. They're easier to tell apart when playing, especially after you've been playing for a while.

The problem in this part sums up why I don't like your post. You're presenting your opinion as if it is a meta-opinion that can take every other opinion before it and present it as something new and more valuable.


Your having said that I should just ignore what you say if I don't like it isn't getting to the root of the problem. It's not that I don't like your opinions, it's that the post is a waste of space - for the most part. You're putting together the post as if it were informative, separate from every other post before it... but it isn't. Then you say that the content isn't meant to be judged. If you're just writing a post to scribble down as many personal thoughts as possible without regard for how much value the content has, then you shouldn't be posting in a forum. That is blog material. Forum posts need to include the 'why's and even more so, valid talking points that haven't yet been stated. If something has already been stated, then you're contributing nothing by re-stating it; you should reply to the person/people who stated it in the first place and provide more points or counter-points. If that isn't necessary or you don't want to do that, then don't post at all.
