Felt the most like "old" competition where the best players in the world faced off

It used to happen at Blizzcon too where people would have a great first half of the year and fall off but still qualify where as someone who is really getting hot and one of the best players at that time ends up missing out.

also some tournaments where the most liked player in the match up got wrecked by the least favorite one or underdog player ended up in freaking disastrous series.

I do wonder where those events qualify, probably under EPT regionals?

But to answer the poll, without actually clicking a poll answer because my answer isn't listed. GSL and GSL ST's were my favorite, but after that comes King of Battles and then after that is TSL's and DH Master's series.

Since it is unclear whether GSL code S is DHM regionals or a third party EPT event I voted for King of Battles. KoB2 had such a great translation for interviews. It felt like a language barrier with one person in the group knowing both languages instead of a passive translation. The Korean players really opened up in those interviews. And that was only one of the great things about that event. There were more. Ever since Proleague stopped I haven't found a new clear favourite event. The caster team league was great, but it didn't have a clear structure for continuation. WTL is missing out a lot on personality with only a clean feed streamed and no clear team player interactions. Homestory cup is great, but it is over too quickly. There is no time to make a Wolf Schroeder storyline about the players. I want a longer event with matches in intervals. The herO hating sOs story worked in Proleague, as did the underdogs fighting mighty foes story. Salvation (Forte) playing his heart out vs Cure in a TvT where every unit was used and I think only 2 upgrades were untouched. Shorter events with a high density of games in a few days can't do that. There's always the next match coming. Reynor just talking, Homestory cup and GSL are the closest things to Proleague. I haven't seen players smile so much in any other big and long event. PartinG used a ruler to show what was going to do vs FlaSh is just 1 of many pre-/post game ceremonies that put a smile on the players' faces. The English interview that gave us Rogue's self-proclaimed Sexy boy nickname was in Proleague.

I also don't like pulic casters predictions before each match, it is the case since some time, but I feel like it should not be a task for casters to declare such things while leading an event. Hope at least players don't hear it since it could be mentally discouraging. I didn't watch at all WTL, which I regret, team tournament idea is exciting. GSL is still most competitive as it always has been I think, with a long history, great cast and unrepeatable atmosphere always fun to watch.

Cross server matches were horrendous overall but there were enough KR vs KR or EU vs EU finals in some tournaments like KoB so those were interesting too!
