AfreecaTV has announced that Super Tournament 1 will begin on March 18th. Due to concerns regarding COVID-19, the Super Tournament will be held without a live studio audience. Players who finish top four in the Super Tournament will receive seeds in GSL Season 1.
Originally scheduled to begin in February, the Super Tournament had been delayed for over a month due to IEM Katowice and the coronavirus outbreak in Korea.
The full tournament schedule is as follows:
Wednesday, Mar 18 8:00am GMT (GMT+00:00): RO16 Day 1 Saturday, Mar 21 8:00am GMT (GMT+00:00): RO16 Day 2 Wednesday, Mar 25 8:00am GMT (GMT+00:00): Quarterfinals Saturday, Mar 28 8:00am GMT (GMT+00:00): Semifinals and grand final
If Rogue beats sOs which isn't a given because of team kill plus who knows how much Rogue is playing after winning Katowice, I have a hard time imagining a situation in which he doesn't make the finals. He has Dark's number and either Zest or Trap in the ro4 seem very much auto wins. If Rogue falls to sOs, slot in Dark to the finals.
The bottom of the bracket looks a lot like Stats or Dear because Super Tournament though either way the finals will probably be a 4-1 for the upper bracket Zerg.
uh, i'm hyped to watch it but surely they could just do it online?
a handful of nerds sitting in an empty studio with commentators is not exactly gonna be more hype anyway, possibly more awkward and reminds us more of what is going on with the world

You're predicting soO to win 3 ZvTs in a row. Are you drunk? Him losing 3-0 or 3-1 to INnoVation is the lock of the tournament.
New year New soO. He has looked pretty good lately.
Less than a month ago he was finishing 1-4 in his group at Katowice. To be fair, none of that was ZvT, but unless that's the only match up he's good at, he's probably dead.

TY or PartinG could beat Rogue. Giving no chance to Terran has become mainstream, I see!

I know the last super tournament final was Dark vs TY, but Protoss over performing and Terran under performing is how the GSL Super Tournament seems to work. GSL season 1 will have 2 or 3 Terran in the Ro8.
Day 1: Wednesday, March 18, 5 pm KST, first half of the Ro16 Day 2: Saturday, March 21, 5 pm KST, 2nd half of the Ro16 Day 3: Wednesday, March 25, 5pm KST, Ro8 Day 4: Saturday, March 28, 5pm KST, Ro4 and Finals
No audience because of Corona, as to be expected. Map pool is the current ladder map pool.

Looking at the brackets and kinda seems it will be a Rogue vs Maru finals.

Never. Winner comes from the upper part of the bracket. Dark, Rogue or Trap
