The final player list and round of 32 groups for HomeStory Cup XIX has been set.
Four players from each round-robin group advance to the double elimination playoff bracket (1st-2nd place players from each group advance to winners bracket, 3rd-4th place players begin in the losers bracket). Some last-minute replacements may still occur before the start of the tournament.

YESS here we go again
Group A looks tough
|
Can't wait for Zest to dominate HSC after failing everywhere else once again.

Homestory Cup! Homestory Cup!

soO has a way of playing sloppy against Terran, even dropping sets to non-Koreans, and hasn't done much to prove he's improved a lot in that match up. If ZvT works out for soO I expect (and hope) we'll get Serral vs soO in the grand finals, would be a super hype rematch even if it is ZvZ.
|
Hype! Hmm... my top 4 guesses for every group:
A: #1 Solar, #2 Reynor, #3 Creator, #4 Lambo
B: #1 Stats, #2 Serral, #3 uThermal, #4 DnS (thinking Serral will lose to Stats in group stage, but I hope he wins the tournament)
C: #1 TY, #2 ShoWTimE, #3 Bunny, #4 Elazer (maybe Hellraiser/Namshar, Elazer didn't look great recently)
D: #1 soO, #2 Zest, #3 PtitDrogo, #4 HeRoMaRinE

Could be a real showcase tournament for Solar, if not for that pesky ZvZ ;o
|
hopefully eonblu can win a map and not get lambasted like he was at HSC17. they were ruthless towards him.
Top 4 of the entire tournament should consist of (in no particular order) Stats, Serral, soO and Reynor. Hoping Stephano can do well here too, but doubtful given his group.
|
Serral and Stats in the same group? Holy fuck
|
Serral gonna smoke these noobs
|
Probably the worst group names on HSC History. The only chance on the entire year to see Koreans fighting the rest of the world and the best social event on sc2...
/spoiler
RO4 : soO , stats, serral, TY
So let´s see the final day and spend the rest of my time on... baking stones on the oven. I did not find the point to make them softer to eat, even bathing them on butter.

Seeding is great imo

How do you stop Protoss from dominating entire tournaments? Make sure the tournament is stuffed with 50% Zerg.

y? the groups seem pretty even.

Groups are as even as possible
So hyped! It's time for the undisputedly most loved tournament in the SC2 community
Hoping for a dance battle between Snute and Hero"machine" too...

Happy Holidays everyone!

Guys always remember:
Last Minute Cancellations occur, as well as players not attending due to various reasons... its not always up to the organizers /Naruto how many of the races are represented and in what quality. Its discussed nearly every year again and again...check out the other thread to see the reasons I think considering all that, its pretty ok! Super sad I cant attend this one but will watch as much as possible!
|
Yes yes yes!!! The best tournament is back! My bet: Rankings 1-4 are pretty much as in the groups list. Except group A. No one knows how that one will go down... A is my group of 💀fo shure

Well, you see, I am a customer and I don't really care. I can see the reasons but that doesn't change I hate ZvZ and I'm not gonna watch it for that reason. I bet there are people who are gonna watch it for this reason, so it will be balanced out in the end.
I'm not blaming Take or NArtuo, I don't think anybody here did. People just don't like it.

cant wait to binge watch that stuff. shame that incontrol cant make it...

Of course having a balanced racial distribution would be better, but avoiding to watch HSC because too many Zergs are in for your tastes seems a little too much! Just skip ZvZ and you'll be fine.

I am responsible and while my original groups A was slightly harder compared to B, C and D it was pretty even. With replacements standing in last minute its obvious group B is weaker. Otherwise its pretty well distributed. Its based on aligulac backed with WCS points in summer and in summer its more WCS points backed with aligulac.
Really didnt have complains at all by players :S

Group C seems like the only one with more than 4 players i think should get past groups. Thats the one Im gonna most into watching. :D

You can tell Serral hasn't played a good P for a while
Edit: oops wrong thread
|
|
Really looking forward to more Serral vs Stats in the playoffs, love that matchup.

Relaxed Serral is the stud to beat in this tournament format.
Mind games, mind games. On a sofa with mildly drunken commentators...
People should realize that they cannot beat Serral in mind games without going to hunt some moose to a Finnish forest.
You can crack to his mind only after sitting there at a fire in the forest with him.
Protosser the Brother was/is his ultimate mind game, and for both of them Papa Sotala...
Serral, humble Finnish guy, is likely also the guy who will perform better in those inevitable Sauna competitions as the dude being most sober... and knowing that its not about the competition.
Traditionally there are a zerg in a sauna, under a bench...
Harvia and similar market leading companies should realize their market potential with J. Sotala...
