he probably doesn't have enough money for such a bet

Hm, gonna be tough to get in 12 hours on monday and tuesday because of work and won't be able to watch the stream afterwards since I will be in Katowice for the main event.
Should still be possible though and overall a great idea!

You were warned (dunno why for a free subjective opinion) but I second this. Nathanias ruins the game for me. Maybe even more than feardragon and that says a lot Anyway hope for a good tourney with a Maru or Rogue win!
I feel like ive waited a year for Katowice to begin... pretty much right after the last one ended. This is the best event around, besides from HSC's... gonna be SICK!!!! 2 days & counting. GLHF

It always comes down to this, but i think as long as nobody is insulted directly, it should be ok to state his opinion.
Nathanias has the unlucky position of a desk-host nowadays, and even a charming fellow like kaelaris can't make that job in a way that its not mostly pointless. It's just "this games gonna be great", "maybe it will be the same as they played this time" and "overused joke repeated ad nauseam" in any order for me, which is why i hardly watch any mainstream anymore. i also don't like all the casters that much, some are good, some just try to be "funny" most of the time, and i really prefere them to talk about the game, once they are out of the early game. (ZG and PiG are mostly good i think for example) i guess overall, those guys do their job fine, since the viewernumbers are pretty solid
what would be nice would be more streams in english, i get why IEM doesn't do it, and its fine. Just would help people that only have streams in english for them to have more of a selection, to find something they can enjoy.
and let's be honest, the viewernumber of the mainstream would't be that much lower if some other guys cast in english
It's a little troubling for me that no Tastosis at the biggest event of the year. Feels like it has something to do with the fireing at blizzard, and now they don't pay their 2 main casters to over from Korea..
Yeah, no Tastosis is a huge bummer Other casters are good too but for major finals I think they are just a must. Nobody else can convey the hype nearly as good. it will not really feel like an IEM Katowice now

I think Rotterdam is the best individual caster and has been for a couple years. He probably knows more than any other caster and his hype is great too.
Him and another caster would be just as good as tastosis imo
No Classic is a little crazy. Great chance he makes money, and decent chance he makes a lot. There must be something personal.
So how do these drops actually work? Do I have to watch the same stream for a total of 4 hours or can I watch multiple streams? Also, I tend to have several streams ongoing at the same time so I can follow the matches that I'm interested in. Does that add to the hours?
You have to watch in total 4-12h on ordee to claim them you can watch 4h main stream or 1h mainsteam 10m me and 2h and 50m crank Just make sure you have your blizzard acc. linked to your acc. you are watching on twitch.

I legitimately enjoy Nathanias's casting, but this is such a dumb response. Being able to do better is not a prerequisite for being able to recognize and criticize when things aren't done well.
Also, the opportunity for a non-established figure to replace Nate on casts is zero and by the time anyone could establish themselves enough, SC2 esports will be pretty much dead.

It's okay to talk about caster preferences when relevant, but coming into an unrelated thread and just dropping a one-liner which basically goes "fuck that guy" isn't the kind of posting we want on TL

fair enough,
i would prefer that negative and positve statments a treated similar (people miss tastosis is fine, not missing someone else isn't) but thats just an opinion, no option is "Truer" than the other
and since it's your house and your rules the warning is fine

Thanks for stickin' up for me pal. I get why I was warned, and sorry for the offense. Obviously this opinion isn't popular but I knew I wasn't the only one.
I think the casters for IEM are great. I think Rotti is one of the best, and I've come to enjoy Demu's casting as well (even though im so-so about his stream).
I miss the days of Wolf and Khaldor, and later on Wolf and Valdez.

Glad they learned from last time that people were extremely disappointed when they didn't get the banner drops they wanted.
I wasn't around for that, it sounds pretty shit yeah
And on the casters stuff.. some of them have been doing lots of balance whine recently*, that's awful to listen to. They're not re-casting the games from their personal stream, they're on twitch.tv/starcraft or on stage at IEM.
*Occasional discussion of the state of a matchup is fine or even to be encouraged, what's an issue is when casters bring it up every game and treat it as if one player wins just by showing up so nothing that they do is really talked about; when their opponent wins, it's because they're really amazing and skillful.
You only can get them at the main event not in the qualifications. In order to earn them you need to connect your twitch account with your blizzard account.
By linking your accounts, you agree that Blizzard may provide Twitch with your Battle Tag and certain other account and game information such as your Battle.net ID and skill ranking
hardly any details on what other personal information is shared with twitch, and i'm not that excited about giving even more personal data to amazon. obviously no concern for my privacy on either sides, as neither party cares to make this information available, and they just want me to link accounts to get the internet points fast. thanks but no thanks
This is such a great event! I'm sure we'll have some entertaining games. SC2 is such a wonderful game! I prefer to play Zerg. That's why I hope a Zerg player will win. I keep my fingers crossed.

It's definitely not the popularity of the opinion that's the issue. If I came into this thread and said "damn, I love IEM, I just wish avilo could cast the whole thing, he's a much better caster," I'd get a lot of reacts but a warning is not one of them (unless my post was obviously purely to piss people off).
Also, I think thoughtful/constructive negative and positive statements are handled similarly; if I go into a thread and say "damn, rotti was really good for X, Y, Z" vs if I say "damn, Tod was really off today on A, B, C, could have handled it better by doing D, E, F", I don't think anybody would bat an eye, that's just constructive criticism.
In the end, it's like Wax said, a thoughtless negative comment is what TL discourages. As a final thought experiment, if the original post were "Oh, nate instead of rotti, I'm glad, since I like how Rotti handles P, Q, R better," then it probably would have been less frowned upon. These are people's jobs and passions you're talking about here, there's a huge difference between "your approach really doesn't mesh with me, I'm sorry" and "fuck you, your 80 hour work week doesn't matter."

Yeah. I searched for VoDs this morning on YouTube but was only able to find the Korean casts. I don’t speak Korean so they were good enough for watching gameplay, but not ideal. Anyone know what YouTube channel the English VoDs are posted on?
Does anybody know the music track that is being used at IEM this year before/after games are played? I haven't heard the new music track that is being used before/after games are played. The music track I am referring to is this: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/386943807?t=00h26m11s
Is there a link to the original music file on Youtube or maybe an MP3?

Yep, how do I even know that it is working? The twitch account is linked and it says "drops enabled", but there is no indication that it is actually counting up. e: So it sends you a twitch notification once you complete it and it is updated in the game right away.
Maybe I don't know where to look, but I can't find any drops.
Yeah doesn't really seem to work for me either.
First make sure you have your twitch and BattleNet accounts liked in twitch settings: Then navigate to the notifications which should be accessible on any twitch page: And after watching the required time, the notification should appear: If none of that happens, I think you should contact Blizzard support through their website.

My account is connected and it worked well in the past (for the Bob Toss thing and also for random Heroes of the Storm boxes - funnily enough those always got added instantly for some reason), so yeah not sure what's up. But thanks for laying out all the steps again, maybe it helps someone else.

I really appreciate this insight as it's something I definitely picked up on reviewing WCS vods from the first half especially with Geoff. He does a good job of letting me know when I"m doing it and I don't mean to I just get excited to say something I notice and I definitely don't handle it the proper way.

You're looking at one person (or maybe a few) and saying "most people." Don't do that. You're a decent caster
