I mean we learn about the decision to go into retirement to do his military service, how is it a dick move to say that he doesn't has a lot of result recently, and probably doesn't have a lot on incentive to stay? If he was earning hundreds of thousand right now he probably wouldn't go just yet. And honestly how is "showing respect" a better contribution to the community? With that said I'm still gonna make my mostly shitpost: Good luck BuyN, hope you can come back to us one day!

In late 2016 you may have very well showcased the best micro and unit control this game has ever seen. I still remember your one interview in GSL where you talked about the bumps on your wrists and how they would start to bleed from the insane amount of practice and training you were putting in, and how that made you feel good knowing nothing less would take you to the top. We will miss you ByuN. Thank-you for so many fond memories.

There is protocol due to covid 19 where you can use your vacation days so to speak to shorten your service, but I doubt with how strict the military has been recently on shortening them that Byun has like 45 days worth of vacation left to use.

I'm curious, do the different forces in the SK military (ground, air, navy..) have separately colored berets? I remember ByuN posted a pic of him in his uniform (seems to have deleted it though), but could you tell from that? In my country the beret-colors are a major recognition point when it comes to where you serve.

The difference between ground and air forces is just the color they use for their rank. Ground are black, Airforce are blue. So their uniforms for everyday work are identical except the rank stripe color. Navy has a totally different uniform, hard to mistake with airforce or ground army. They wear white-blue stuff with no beret, instead using a kind of sailors cap. Again, it's probably more likely than anything Byun just went to the ground forces. Regardless of where he went, he's almost done anyway.

I’d love to see him back as I missed his triumphs when on a long hiatus from SC2, that said has he gave any indication he would even want to come back after service? He hit such high highs before going, might want to go out on that high perhaps.
