• Cosmetics can be purchased soon, showing TotalBiscuit, his hat, the Axiom logo
• New sales of the TB announcer will (except for taxes) go to TB's family.
• Past sales since April 2018 also go to TB's family

From what I understand, it doesn't "sell out" exactly, but they do have a limit on the amount of copies they will sell (and money from it they will give to Genna) because of taxes and, I assume, legal garbage that I'll never understand that comes out of the whole situation.

I believe there are limits on gifts/charitable donations before you have to file extra documentation and follow special reporting guidelines, etc. This is to prevent abuses from fake charities and people trying to avoid taxes by hiding their income, etc.

I'd be much more inclined to buy this if proceeds went to cancer research, cancer education or cancer treatment.

Colon and prostate cancers, partly because they are very unfashionable and partly because they mainly affect men, are criminally underfunded.

In that case you may be more interested in the "Tribute to TotalBiscuit" campaign that Chrono.gg are doing this week. If you're unfamiliar with them, the site is a legitimate (non-fraudulent) game key seller whose gimmick is that they usually only sell one game at a time every 24 hours, but it is always significantly discounted and occasionally the discount in question will be the cheapest the game has ever been.

TB has worked closely with them in the past and now they're doing a special where there's nine games he spoke positively about on offer for the rest of the week, with their proceeds going to the Colorectal Cancer Alliance, charity chosen by Genna.

Personally, if I wanted to give money to cancer research, cancer education or cancer treatment, I would just donate money to one of the hundreds of the charities and organisations which are concerned with cancer research, cancer education or cancer treatment. This is just purely a money dumnp to Genna Bain and they aren't hiding it.

Well it's in honour of TB and considering both he and Genna put a ton of money into Starcraft it's fitting that the guy's at blizzard want to give something back, especially since Genna, herself a cancer survivor, is heavily in debt because of TB cancer treatment plus the lost of her job and has to take care of their child who has some kind of handicap and need special care. It's not like Gena Bain was some kind of billionaire widow.

You are correct, because TB's family is in some serious shit.

On top of the very costly treatments he had to undergo to fight off cancer, Genna posted recently that their accountant who was doing their finances fucked up bad and they were hundreds of thousands in debt as a result. On top of her also undergoing chemo treatment (though her cancer seems to be more under control compared to TB's, from what she's posted anyway).

So it's understandable that Blizzard would try to help a family that contributed quite a bit to StarCraft (not to mention a mutually beneficial relationship regarding some of their other games as well).

Sorry, you guys misread me. I'll repost by adding a quote to the post I am responding to:

I'm just pointing the way to someone who genuinely want to help the criminally underfunded cancers. I'm not arguing for or against donating to Gemma Bain, that's purely your business, Gemma Bain's business and Blizzard's business.

That is perfect, thank you.

And I didn't mean to imply the charity wasn't a worthy cause because the money goes to TB's family, in any way.
I love Blizzard for doing that.

That said, I think using his announcer pack would depress the hell out of me. I still occasionally visit his channel out of habit and then get sad when I remember he's gone.

he probably made the common error of going online when he was in a foul mood. he made some regrettable posts on here and reddit. but.. so what. i'll take a few bad posts in exchange for his huge contributions to RTS and SC2 any day. i'd rather deal with a real human than a politically correct robot churning out procedurally generated PR statements.

TB did a great job with his SC2 Esports initiatives.

Blizzard kept giving him more and more responsibility; bigger and bigger projects. Had his health not failed him who knows how much Blizzard would've given him by now. I think if he were in good health then a good 20% to 40% of all of SC2 esports would've been going through his organization. And SC2 would've been all the better for it.

For the sixtyninth millionth time mister brickrd:

Why do you believe people who aren't polite are owed politeness from people who are showered with abuse day in and day out by lowlifes and nobodies?

If you act like a cunt, you get responded to in kind, it doesn't matter how many followers he had.

I swear to god your obsessive vendetta against TB is disturbing, I recommend you seek mental help if it bothers you so much that one person on the internet actually dared to talk back to the hundreds of disgusting trolls constantly abusing him.

Awesome initiative, shame they had to limit the money. It would have been awesome if the money over the threshold went to cancer cancer research. That way his family is helped and money is raised for cancer.

when did i make this "false equivalency" in my post? i did not.

Meh, i watched the OCCASIONAL rudeness on here. He was probably online when he was in a foul mood. If this is his worst sin... he is doing ok man.

+ Show Spoiler +
Dissecting every nanosecond of a person's life in slow motion and skewering them is now possible in today's surveillance society. Personally.. I find it distasteful. What makes this fact worse is we have manufactured young people who spend so much time with technology their life experience and emotional IQ is close to zero. Hence the angry, vile tornado of twitter. Watch how republicans and democrats deal with each other today.. find some old video of how they dealt with each other in the 1970s or 1980s. Its sad how social IQ has devolved as the smartphone as improved.

TB was semi-rude to me probably twice over the course of me asking many many tough questions over the years. Considering all the great stuff he did for the RTS genre. I personally.. I'll take that trade any day. So don't speak for me dude. I'm good.

TB wasn't a robot.. He was a passionate guy who loved RTS.. As I do and so do many people on this forum board. This leads to heated disagreements. I guarantee you that within Blizzard there were arguments about RTS between 2005 and 2010 that would make the disagreements between TB and various RTS lovers had .... look like a day at Disneyland.

In conclusion, SC2 would undoubtedly be in a better place today if TB were still alive. The guy was fucking awesome. Its great Blizzard created this TB Commemorative Bundle. Blizzard has done many, many great things for the RTS genre over the past 20 years; this is one more great thing to add to the very long list.

TB was pretty rude to me on twitter when we were discussing frame rate and I was explaining him why "All games should run at 60fps" doesn't make much sense as a blanket statement, from a game development point of view, since I've been a AAA game developer for almost 20 years. He wouldn't have any of that and still fiercely held his point of view.

He was a legend. I loved the man and I miss his casting terribly

Great thing, am sure to pick it up, especially as the payment options to previous donation efforts were very limited/off-putting imo.

But why did they have to take such a less-than-flattering photo to put up here on the lower right panel!? https://eu.shop.battle.net/en-us/product/totalbiscuit-commemorative-bundle hope it's just me.

Umm... Colorectal cancer is pretty evenly split between men and women. American Cancer Society states the risks for development are "about 1 in 22 (4.49%) for men and 1 in 24 (4.15%) for women." Obviously prostate cancer is a male specific problem, but the Movember movement has done loads in terms of bringing into the spotlight and raising funds. Although breast cancer is obviously a huge outlier in terms of visibility and funding, as of 2016, the National Cancer Institute (the primary US government grant organization for cancer research) has prostate cancer as the fourth most funded cancer type (after breast, leukemia (childhood and adult), and lung cancer) with colorectal cancer being the fifth most funded. Prostate and colorectal cancer each get more than ovarian, cervical and uterine cancer combined from the NCI on an annual basis.

I'm not saying more can't be done, but you also have to remember that colorectal cancer risk is primarily due to lifestyle factors, such as diet, alcohol consumption and exercise - which many other programs are funded to combat in the US, which will help as well. Overall, I'm not sure where you got any of the ideas contained within your post.

Great on them for providing so much support to his family. It's unfortunate that his family was in such terrible financial state after losing a loved one. I'm glad that they're being take care of.

I couldnt believe how strong and brave TB was during the whole nightmare with the cancer, the treatment, the work and the famly. This would have made him happy.

I bought the package, mostly for the good memories. I loved his series "I suck at Starcraft 2". And didn't know what was yet to come ...

He often approached things a bit differently. When Wings of Liberty was big, some gaming personalities produced Starcraft Content but left when the viewership dropped. TB was a real fan, though. And I hear that in every sentence he speaks in his videos.
