What sin did DieuCure do to deserve that?
|
There are some players with really strong results in the past seeded as tier 3 and 4 players due to poor recent performances. If even one or two of them finds some of their previous magic, their group could hit murder tier of difficult.
|
I can't see any foreigners making it out of these except Scarlett.
|
Cure and the bracket luck...
|

same...though if we would count TRUE as a foreigner then he can make it out too
|
Sad to see how weak GSL ro32 are now
|
Easy group for Scarlett. Could see Elazer getting out of his group too.
Excited to see ByuL again too
|
Decent group for Scarlett. Elazer will have a rough time.
|
I was excited to see Ryung, then I saw who his group was. Poor guy. Same with Elazer. Byun and Classic is pretty tough group to beat.

Time to up the blood sacrifice quota.
I had to look up that DoKyung was Billowy.

He lost to Kelazhur and Ryung in the qualifier

Crazy that Scarlett is now a tier 1 player.

Cure gets two zergs to build ravens against, so it isn't all bad.

8 groups so those who make it to ro8 last season will be tier 1 upon seeding.
|
Groups D, F, and G are the only ones that don't have clear 2 players advancing.
|
Nice groups, think Elazer and Scarlett will go through!
|

Groups look really even this season. Should be relatively straightforward predictions, though you never know what upsets might happen.
|
hoping for Bunny and Byul to advance from their groups, not too hopeful though
|
I'd love to see Ryung make it out.
|
aaaaah the wreckingByul is back in the gsl must mean mutas mean something in the meta for zerg
|
What I hope
A: Classic / whatever B: Gumigod / whatever C: whatever / whatever D: Zest / aLive E:Stats / Byul F: Maru / Bunny G: Cure / TY H: Dark/ INno
What I think will happens
A: Classic / Elazer B: Gumi / Scarlett C: sOs / Solar D: Zest / Trap E: Stats/ Rogue F: Maru / Dear G: Impact / TY H: Dark / INno
since it's so hard for korean to play in both GSL and WCS, i'll also not be rooting for foreigners who can do both
|
Random guesses: A- Classic/ByuN B- GuMiho/Patience C- sOs/Solar D- Zest/Trap E- Stats/Rogue F- Maru/Bunny G- TY/Impact H- Dark/INnoVation
|
Elazer has a shot if he nydus Classic and gets to play ZvZ in winner's match.
|
Poor ByuL. Guy gets put in a group with Rogue and Stats. Outside of G and H, I don't think he could have 2 more difficult opponents blocking him from advancing.

Is this the most foreigners in GSL ever?

There were 5 foreigners in 2017 GSL S3. While we are on it, GSL vs the World had 8.

I rather think this is a very doable group for him, Stats seems too good to beat but eMotion is one of the weakest players in ro32 and Rogue probably won't put in too much effort since he's already seeded in Blizzcon.

The point of GSL vs The World is to have for vs kor, it's not a GSL. But yeah a lot of foreigner, and as the korean scene shrinks we well see more of them I think.

Dokyung??.. I don't know anything about this guy, but I'm rooting for him!

He pretty much never beats Stats and his ZvP has shown very little growth throughout LotV so I don't think he's taking that match at all.
Against Rogue he can easily win and eMotion is a bit of a wildcard that might turn out to be a decent upcomer but will likely take last in the group.
Then again, ByuL is also a bit of a wildcard. He's been one of the most elusive players in the scene for some time now and definitely the most uncommon of the previous top-tier players. Even as far back as HotS he doesn't participate in much to allow one to lockdown his current form. I mean, just last year he opened 2017 looking like the best Zerg in the world and by the second half looked to be on the verge of retirement.

Are the groups sorted in the way the first matches will be played? (T1 vs T4, T3 vs T2)

How come Maru didn't get Seed A1? I guess he and Stats just pick their groups? Oh well, interesting groups! Go Foreign Zergs Go

Yes.
Groups seem pretty straightforward. I'm sure there will be some upsets, but seems like almost all the higher seeds should be favored.

You think so? There are only like 2-3 I feel like I can call confidently.

More than half of the players have got a team. That is interesting.

Wait, this means Elazer, Scarlett, Zanster, and SortOf can't participate in WCS Austin if they pass their RO32 groups .. right?
Or is TRUE being treated unfairly?

You guys got me quite interested in seeing him play against Rogue now. I miss watching him in proleague, so it will be good to see again. I was wondering if he had retired without me noticing, so I definitely agree with your analysis on him lately. I would love to see him be really good again and win a GSL. Now it barely feels like he's a contender. Excited for round of 32 to begin!

something about this ro32 feels on the weaker side. Maybe i just don't know a lot of the players. Or spoiled by ASL

A lot of good players just failed to qualify.
eMotion beat special and herO (twice) to qualify.

I like to think that a group of death means that every single member has a great chance to win that current season of the GSL
