ROOT Gaming announced that long-time member (T)SuperNova has officially re-joined the team after finishing his mandatory military service. In addition, marquee players (P)herO and (T)Kelazhur have re-signed with ROOT for the 2018 season.

We are extremely happy to announce that YoungJin "SuperNova" Kim is officially back on ROOT Gaming!

Though he never technically left, our good friend YoungJin took a long break from SC2 to do his military service. Recently, he returned from the military and has been streaming SC2 regularly (https://www.twitch.tv/root_supernova)...

...On other roster-related news, we are also very excited to announce our Blizzcon'17 attendees, herO and Kelazhur have also both re-signed with ROOT Gaming and will continue to represent us in 2018, hopefully culminating with one of them lifting the World Championship Trophy at Blizzcon '18!

Happy that SuperNova is back! I remember watching his "last" stream, and it was both awesome and sad. He was so incredibly good with liberators and tankivacs. Hopefully he can get his skills back in top form.

On most betting websites he was considered to have the highest chance to win this GSL, even ahead of innovation dark rogue and stats, who followed closely. I think that herO could get more than he gets from us but he chose to stay after not giving it much thought, he feels happy / comfortable as a part of the family and that fills me with joy.

Kelagod is another one that has stuck with us for a long time now, and he's the longest standing resident of the ROOT house alongside myself. While I am unsure the house will continue to exist past mid-2018, having lived with and seen Diego constantly grow year after year has been an amazing experience, and I am certain he isn't done growing. We have other very strong players like puCK who is atm in Korea (and will no doubt be in top shape as a result) or Jig who is one of my favorite players to watch, and has tons of potential. Neuro, ViBE and ZergGirl are wonderful streamers, and longstanding honorary member Rotti is getting out of control, with how good he is, he might soon bench herO. Wardi's channel is constantly growing and hydra's out there making babies that are likely to become world champions in due-time.

Bottom line for me is - ROOT is likely the strongest it has ever been heading into 2018, we have many successful years behind us and hopefully a couple or more ahead of us in SC2, much or all of this made possible by Twitch.tv and you guys' support, so thank you and please continue to #ROOT4ROOT.

Full on herO fan. Always enjoyed watching supernova since I first saw him royal road a code A title (I'm probably not remembering that right) but anyways a while ago now. Great news all round.
But he is never making short-term prediction, everyone of his prediction are based on fundenmentals, but he doesn't exactly know when it will happen... So using these kind of narrowed "who-is-right" empirical analysis makes little sense.

SuperNova has been streaming his mech games for several weeks now. 2 weeks ago I saw him and TY on approximately the same GM rank. I thought that was interesting.

ROOT looks like a favourite to win the Wardi Teamleague tbh.

Splyce only has 3 players and JAGW won't play I guess.
Maru and Serral are probably top 5.

It is very difficult for new and young players to shine on the top in Korea for the last few years. I think that from the moment when Kespa players entered in the end ot Wings of Liberty era I haven't seen anyone new who can shock the e-sport scene of SCII. This is why many oldschool players shined (like Gumiho and Byun) again, and may be it is a chance for SuperNova and MMA to return in Code S. SuperNova is streaming in some time, yes, I watched some mech builds by him, very cool to observe. Of courlse let's not forget the return of Parting too.
