Well that was disappointing. I wanted to see them both in the round of 16. Scarlett played very well though. Almost made it both times for her win-and-ins.

Any rage you see is from people saying stuff like patch terrans, and acting like Scarlett is Dark. Or even close. I was ROOTING for her vs Maru. I saw that weak cheese and I was worried about her upcoming gsl performance. Same as I was worried about Byun after I saw him lose the FIRST game to Soo in the olimoleague finals. Not cause he lost, Because of HOW he played, again, if I recall correctly some kind of weak proxy cheese, a pattern. As a counterpoint, you hardly ever see guys like Dark or TY cheese. They trust in their skills. I think that's why she pissed me off so much. She's sooo good, but in a crux she chose a weak cheese. She acted like Maru is God cause SHE couldn't beat HIM, and treating Byun and Inno, or TY, or Bunny, or all these other guys like she could just ROLL OVER THEM. I'm like, " She barely beat Major in the WESG NA final 4-3"? If Dark does cheese, he usually punishes some stupid build where he dissects the flaws in it. Believe me, I was a Huge Byun fan this year, after I saw him lose to I think a Chinese player in Nation Wars, I knew Dark had read him perfectly.

Like how does a patch that favors Terran make Byun WORSE? It's not all about the patch, clearly....

But hey, Solar got knocked out. So did Zest and Rogue. Last year Maru AND Innovation were knocked out of code s. And Inno took responsibility, said he was lazy. Hell, Im pissed at Solar for not getting out of the group. I was irritated Cure didn't get out, but Leenock played Sooo well I'm excited to see what he can do.

Bashing???? I woulda NEVER TOOK that tone if she wasn't so arrogant. I saw Keen 2-0 Dark twice in a row, but in a tournament I'm betting on Dark. Classic had over 4000 WCS points, HE shoulda been at blizzconn over at least pittdrogo, like come on!!!!!!

I just like good games my man..

lol at no point should anyone ever expect a foreigner to advance. sorry. neeb is the only one who ever won a stacked and legit korean tournament in recent time (and only winner in a tourney in korea if im not mistaken). showtime and elazer impressed at blizzcon with huge upsets but even then they got peaced out eventually. nerchio sometimes is good. but scarlett not that good. nobody shouldve expected her to advance, thats only setting yourself up for disappointment. i know she has done badass stuff before like play protoss and beat DRG, but ultimately the koreans are gonna win in GSL.

Of course we can expect her to advance lol. She was one game away to advance as first place, and then one game away to advance as second place. She finished her group at 4-4, like aLive who qualified as 2nd place.
ByuN was also one game away from advancing and we don't hear people say: "uh why should you expect the blizzcon winner to advance in ro32, lolol". You got wrong double standards :x.

She was talking about winning against inno and others on ladder. That's where the win percentages came from. Tastosis mentioned it in the cast.

You know what's funny though? Watch the GSL vods again, at some point in the cast, Artosis talks about Byun, and the difference between getting to the top and STAYING at the top. He said there was almost like a curse for the longest time where the GSL winner got knocked, out in the round of 32, like EVERYTIME, basically if it wasn't MC, MVP, or Nestea or someone like these guys....

Ha, good one, you take that tone with everything you say. You have no place to say that someone who simply has confidence is acting arrogant, and your ceaseless "I'm always right, you're wrong, listen to me completely dismiss someone else's accomplishments because I type in caps" attitude is unwelcome.

Lol, dude, you guys seem to not get the statement she can beat Maru or Inno 7 times out of 10 everytime is just plain not true.

Byun just beat three straight top tier zergs in the qualifiers. Alive beat Maru. Gumiho beat Maru. Serial qualified, and I don't think Elazer or Nerchio have yet.

Like I said, I didn't have a problem with her LOSING (caps are for emphasis ya know, maybe I should try italics??) more with her mindset going into the game. She just beat him 3-2 Ina qualifier, but at WESG, that was for like 20000-50000kor something, what ever 3-4th place gets, and she plays like she is scared to death.

And these qualifiers show Maru isn't GOD. Far from it.

Edit: I had to add this, I believe during the WESG, the casters were discussing Scarlett's (and I'm pretty sure these were their words) Imperious attitude towards Terran. She felt ULTRA CONFIDENT vs ANY Terran. You know why? She said she practices with Byun and didn't care about any other Terrans.

It killed me reading her interview, describing Marus 2-1-1 pressure play. The way she explained it, Maru was the only one she's seen perfect it. And she hasn't seen anything like it since Taeja. This is after Byun spent ALL of 2016 killing everyone with the 2-1-1. Watch Byuns first game vs Violet and tell me he can't reproduce whatever the hell she feels like Maru is doing.I took it as kinda disrepspectful to her teammate.
This is the same player who said she learned how to deal with reapers by playing 50 games against Byun until she figured out how to deal with it. So if not for Byun she might still be dying to reapers.

Like I said before, I LIKE Scarlett. I just didn't like what she kinda indirectly said about Byun. And I'm tired of foreigners talking smack and then don't back it up, just play the game.....

4 days in sc2 time is actually not long at all, considering there are 2/3 GSLs per year, and the whole point of the VODs is you can watch on your own schedule. I'll have you know I was traveling 4 days ago. I made the mistake of checking for other news when I knew there was a risk of spoiling. I'm just saying it could be better. What happened to a simple "Group Y Results and Group Z Preview?"

And even Neeb only got that far because he got almost all pvp. I'm a big Neeb fan but yeah, just the truth.

Neeb has a 60%+ winrate in all match ups, he can compete with the best of all races. You make him out to be a one match up wonder with what you said and saying things like that unjustly discredits him. I'm not even a neeb fan and i think he is gosu as F*ck

aLive has always been super underrated imo, but damn it hurt to watch Scarlett throw her lead away in game 2.

ByuN's rough patch has been pretty tough to watch as well, thankfully he made it to IEM Katowice

Scarlett lost to a patch Terran. That is all

EDIT: And a player who is very good but made even better with PvZ imbalance.

User was warned for this post

all she needed was not to lose roaches before blords involved in battle /facepalm

As commentator pointed out, she knew there was a timer on her counter attack to work because alive was pumping out vikings at other side of the map.

EDIT: which doesn t mean it wasn 't a mistake (the viking count turned out to be rather low, she overestimated her opponent's adaptation speed), just not the most obvious throw of all time, as some ppl make it sound.

I think he certainly deserved his Kespa Cup victory because it just happens sometime that you get lucky with the matchups - Zest also played mostly pvp during his kespa cup victory but nobody discredits him for it.

But let's be honest - he can't compete with the best of all races. 0-3 against Dark at blizzcon, 0-3 against TY at WESG, none of the maps were even close.

Well ya know, sometimes you need blind confidence to get you going. Sometimes that does the trick, to be able to trust yourself.
