The audio was indeed recorded from the mic Monk's holding and not the on board camera mic, and here's the separate audio file from the recorder in case you were wondering.
At a event like this it's impossible to not have any form of background noise, but I'm pretty sure the two talking on camera has the clearest sound. People talk in an echo-y room and there's reverb, mic picks some up and that's what you're hearing.

And no, the 2nd mic wasn't broken. She actually did say that and we all heard it in person. Any other arguments based on facts good sir?

Also, if you want to call names, I'm a sound engineering teacher for 11 years now. I stand saying the handed mic wasn't really working, you can see it pointing scarlett's mouth and hearing Monk all the same...

I think the cable might've crapped out some time mid vid haha, you can hear some staticky shuffle as Monk's passing the mic back n forth.
Not taking it personally, just thought you were saying I was making facts up and wanted to clear it up. Apologies if it came off in any other way
