Founded in 2005 TCM-Gaming (TCM) has been a professional gaming team and a marketing/media company with its HQ in the UK, with years of experience in the scene and many championship titles under their belts in games such as Call of Duty, Counter-Strike, Halo and Battlefield. It has taken a while for TCM to delve into the Starcraft 2 scene but we wanted to take our time and choose players who represent our brand and share the same goals as us.
Starcraft 2 is the number one real-time strategy game with tournaments worldwide including the prestigious World Championship Series (WCS). The WCS is a series of events organised by or in cooperation with Blizzard Entertainment, featuring $1.6 million invested in the prize pool and spread out among multiple events throughout the year.
We are pleased to announce that Hyun Woo 'First' Kang and Byung Hyun 'YoDa' Choi will be representing TCM in the European WCS as well as all future Starcraft 2 events! You will be seeing the duo at various events including WCS, Dreamhack, Intel Extreme Masters, HomeStory Cup and more!
Both First and YoDa come from the respected and well known Incredible Miracle team and have achieved fantastic results in the past. Together with TCM the players will be living in the GEM house in Germany and will be practicing hard with some of the best players in the world in order to achieve great success under their new team.
We are also pleased to announce that with our two great players we will be adding some new staff to look after the division.
James ‘BanKs’ Banks – Team Manager – BanKs has been involved in Starcraft 2 since its release, first working with ZOWIE GEAR and BenQ before going on to manage the successful Korean pro team StarTale. We are confident that BanKs’ experience and skills will be vital to the success of the team, especially when it comes to what the players need.
Robert ‘Pughy’ Pugh – Technical advisor & commentator – Pughy started off his Starcraft 2 career as an extremely capable player within the UK, due to his great analyst skills he made the transition into a commentator and has since commentated i-series, Gfinity G3 and various online tournaments and cups. With TCM by his side we look forward to working on some new tournaments with Pughy and using his great knowledge of Starcraft 2 to help our players and the team.

Well that's good I guess. Never heard of this team before but looking at their list of teams that makes sense, but they seem solid enough. I hope this ends up being successful
|
never heard of TCM, so i'm not sure how i feel about this
Happy they found a team though, i guess
|
Awesome, nice to see another UK team coming into the Starcraft scene.
I beat Pughy on ladder the other day, so feel free to pick me up as Senior Technical Advisor!

TCM afaik are a pretty legit team, not the biggest outside of apparently a pretty good call of duty team but from what I can gather from some of their former LoL players they were always good with payments and management
|
good to see them joining a legit organisation

TCM stands for Team Coolermaster if anyone is interested although I'm not sure they use that anymore. They are still sponsored by Coolermaster by the looks of it though.

This is pretty cool! Glad to see YoDa has finally found a team. And First too I guess.

What does TCM stand for?
This is a question we find ourselves being asked time and time again; and we also sometimes find ourselves being refferred to incorrectly.
TCM-Gaming is our name, our brand and our identity. To keep it simple it stands for nothing, we are simply TCM-Gaming.
Yes, you are correct, we were once called Team Cooler Master, who were our title sponsor from 2007 until 2010; when we rebranded. Upon our relaunch we retained the name as which we had become known, TCM, with it we retained our brand recognition whilst also allowing us to work with a wider variety of partners moving forward.
We are proud of our history, we are proud of where we are now as TCM-Gaming, and we are proud of where we are headed into the future.
=]
But yes, they are still one of our sponsors.
Sorry, pet hate of mine. <3 Thanks for the support guys.

Turner Classic Movies <3
Congrats to Yoda and First and TCM!

Great pickup. They are both very strong players will YoDa showing exceptional form recently. Nice to see them get a team to support them in getting to more events.

I hate to say it but I read TCM as TSM

Cool. I found it funny that + Show Spoiler +They played to knock each other of WCS and now they're joining the same team at the same time
|
TCM is pretty big in the European CoD scene. They have a huge rivalry with Epsilon. I don't really see them as an RTS/MOBA esports organization though. They focus more on FPS. We'll see how this goes, but not sure if their fans will be interested in sc2.

Interesting, I read TCM as Turner Classic Movies.

My apologies sir. I knew you as Coolermaster back in COD2 days and then COD4. Many a game played against your various teams back then.

Good news, a home for YoDa and First and a new team in the sc2 scene . Good luck!

Certainly no need for apologies!...
No offence intended with that little ranty-esque post, it's just best to try and clarify now, as we still have some casters etc calling us by our former name. Which can cause confusion.
COD4, those were the days.
|
Dope! I like yoda, good to see he managed to end up at a renowned team -- never heard of them tho but if everyone says they are legit then I'm sure that's true!
|
I wonder if MC will join a team too. It would be awesome if he went to a Proleague team for next year. Either Prime MVP would be great for him.

Good news. SC2 keeps growing!

dont know about dota, but in LoL they had a couple of decent teams, which however disbanded mostly after a short time. biggest success was winning a 20k dollar LCS pre qualifier in July 2013 (http://lol.esportspedia.com/wiki/TCM-Gaming)

I always wondered if you were Messioso from COD! I remember eSource as well. Wasn't that encore, tam and morg etc?

So the team is sponsored by CM Storm? Congratz to Yoda and First

I personnaly know TCM for his TF2 team :>. Awesome to see those 2 great player having such a nice team now. GL to both of them!

I haven't seen the name James Banks in a very long time.

|
New face in the scene is good for everyone. Welcome, team TCM, and may your roster grow and thrive!

It's nice to see new faces caming into the scene. I hope the best to TCM!

Yeah absolutely. They're best for Call of Duty, second best team in Europe behind Epsilon.
|
I know I've heard TCM's name floating around here and there, so it's cool to see them get into some SC2 action. I actually caught Pughy's stream earlier today when he was casting that $2k tournament? Summer Series I think? Good stuff
|
Also, I have strong suspicions based on what James said in an interview with the French team against All authority recently and this post on /r/StarCraft that Squirtle will be on his way soon - or that TCM are at least trying to sign him.

If that happens it'll be great. Maybe even get True on board and all of a sudden you have one of the scariest teams in Europe.
|
Hopefully they are going to do good things for Sc2, awesome to see a new organization enter Sc2, TCM has been doing quite well in other eSport titles.

awesome to see new teams that dont sound shady

sorry but that TCM name explanation was hilarious. you guys should reinvent yourselves by thinking of a clever acronym for TCM. like Totally Cool Marauders etc

it's a pretty normal explanation. ESPN started as "electronic sports something network" but eventually came to be just "ESPN" because that's what caught on and how people remembered the brand.

TCM pretty well known in the FPS scene interesting they're accepting SC2 players
|
|
I hope this isn't another phoney team. Never heard of them, but I guess they have a long history so it should be ok. At least they started with some really good pickups!
|
This is very good news, alwyas nice with new teams delving into the scene. It shows that the game is still growing and is very good for the future of teamleagues.
|
These are probably one of the most respected and established teams to enter SC2 in a very long time! There is 100% no need to worry, these guys will do an amazing job for the scene.
Good luck to both Pughy & Banks!
(hopefully TCM realise how bad COD is and put more money into decent games )

cool stuff, look forward to seeing how this goes. glad they have a team :D

How is this affecting their current training environment? Seems to have helped them get out of the doldrums and back to relevance so I'd like to see it maintained in some way.

Glad to see someone picking up such high potential players! I do hope that the team (which does seem to have legit esports experience/credibility) will carry through potential growing pains. GL to all!
