A Zerg filled group in the Ro32 of WCS America was an unlikely place to find one of the most entertaining games of the year, but the circumstances somehow fell together for  Revival and IM_ByuL to play a truly memorable match (Watch the VOD!).
For the most part, the proceedings on the night went as expected. Despite his best efforts,  TheStC failed to be much of a threat to his three Zerg opponents, making ZvZ the main match-up of the night. A series of closely matched but mostly unremarkable ZvZ's ensued, with Roccat.HyuN earning the first ticket to the Ro16 with wins over ByuL and Revival.
Revival and ByuL were left to play in the final match of the night for the remaining Ro16 slot. After trading a game a piece, the two players stepped onto Yeonsu for the deciding game. The game looked to be a clear cut victory for ByuL after he survived Revival's roach attacks to put mutalisks on the map. However, a number of overeager attempts to finish the game by ByuL gave Revival just enough breathing room to crawl his way back into the game with a roach-hydra army.
Despite Revival's unlikely survival, ByuL seemed to have the game firmly in his control with the threat of a basetrade giving him complete map control. Yet, ByuL failed to consolidate his lead completely, allowing Revival to slowly build up his army and add infestors.
After having the fringes of his base picked at for what seemed like an eternity, Revival finally decided enough was enough and took his army out on the map to attack ByuL. In response ByuL initiated one of the most tragic muta base-trades in all of StarCraft history, running his forces into a forest of spore crawlers at Revival's last remaining base. The mutalisks were completely massacred, forcing the GG from ByuL and giving Revival a miraculous victory.

 Zerg (3): TooDming, HyuN, Revival

He then gets up and is mugged by guys with guns and is about to get shot but then one of the thugs backstabs his friends and Revival gets the fuck out of there, but is then chased by a pack of ravenous dogs. He crashes through a butcher shop, throws the meat at the ravenous dogs to only have the butcher try to stab him, only to have the previous thugs start shooting up the butcher and the police coming in to shoot the thugs. After surviving all of that Revival, walks home to only have a piano fall out of the sky and almost land on top of him until mutas swoop in from nowhere and die for him.

Just saw the VOD... Oh God that was terrible to watch. I think it's time Blizzard reverses the Spore buff... That was just ridiculous.

I've always felt that each of the six matchups have/should have an iconic game that people will look back on for a long time when people think of the matchup, and I think it's safe to say ByuL vs Revival has become one of those games.

watched the game and didnt find it to epic (the zvz byul vs revival) i mean if he build no drones ... it was more thrown then epic comeback

aeh ... NO ? it was best they ever did
it was only muta vs muta before did you really forget that ? without that patch, the mutas would have instawin the game, and so revival would have gone mutas too so all we had was muta vs muta ...

Crazy game, but very bad play from Byul. Commiting to mutas, no droning at all... WTF?

bitterdam best commentating duo in all of starcraft, their commentary for that final game between revival and byul was hilarious
was an ultra entertaining game, watching byul's indecision at the end was sad though

Blown away by revivals performance. Great to see him doing so well and even better to think about someone at EG kicking themselves for letting him go ^_^

just finished watching the vods of hyun vs revival and lol bitter managed to not talk a single second about the game haha, rotti seemed a little pissed about it too

You don't get epic comebacks and amazing finales like that if the guy who's way ahead isn't throwing to some degree.
