He won $41,000 of those in the past four months. I don't get why he retires now, he is at the very peak of his skill. Or perhaps, he knows he had a gigantic luck these past months and that he'll never reproduce such results. Good luck!

If I had to speculate, team MVP wanted to focus on proleague and therefore wanted duckdeok to come back to Korea, play in WCS Korea to always be there for proleague. Duckdeok didn't want to do that and decided to call it quits. Or maybe he's decided that since he's 19 soon he wants to go back to studying.

There was no answer I do not think that this is his case but 2014 will be the 1st year when 150+ korean players have only 3 events to play in, duckdeok seemed to be a notable player who can be send to events abroad so here is another case but for all rookie and young korean players who did not qualify for GSL this situaton is the great reason to retire. I really hope OSL can do 1-2 events but they seem to not care about sc2 at all anymore
