I don't find it that strange, actually. I can name a few games where I've set myself a goal, pushed and pushed and pushed to get there through all kinds of adversity (mainly arguments with Mrs Umpteen about time spent in front of the computer), and then when I tick the box - even if there are other, higher goals I could set myself - I'm done. Permanently. It's as though I've made an unspoken bargain with myself, that my reward for all that hard work will be to no longer feel obliged to work hard.

Asheron's Call, for instance, I slogged solo through.. forty? levels of a Creature-First battlemage (which blows because you don't get any teleportation spells or armour buffs for the first forty levels), trained Item Enchantment, teleported somewhere, and then logged out and never went back.

I could easily imagine something similar for DD, having set himself the goal of winning a tournament, plugging away for ages with no results, having that huge emotional rush when it finally happens - and then just letting go. Giving himself permission to stop caring. Monkey off back.

Well that's true. I just would like a more.. outspoken(?) way that a twitter. But an official statement that he will not renew his contract in a few month etc...

Don't know if it's possible or not, but that would be a little bit more professional. But i'm sure we'll get an interview afterwards. I just would like to see the interview, then the tweet.
