Damn. I noticed no one pointed out Crayon Pop for the first three pages but I'm not the first. Well anyway, the picture is a reference to Bar Bar Bar by Crayon Pop.

I have watched some professional Japanese tournaments of SC2, once or twice in 2011 and 2012, I think, some national tournament. The casting was nice to listen to. I've also watched a few Japanese personal streams before but they're not particularly interesting.

Do they have a pro scene in other (PS3 based) e-sports? The complete lack Japanese e-sport has seemed really odd to me for a while. Every other country that has a very high Human Development Index or is a major industial nation has a e-sports scene. Everyone except Japan..... oh neither does India I just noticed that.
Interesting idea, I hope it'll be an interesting match for more than the first five minutes of the first game =P I can't imagine japanese allstars beating korean progamers after not fielding a player in a major global tourney EVER, afaik.

I'm thought a couple of Japanese players have played in Open Brackets of MLG or maybe other tournaments, unless it was only online qualifers I'm thinking of.

India is too busy dominating the IT and outsourced call centre support industry to get into eSports maybe. :S They'll end up being the #1 Blizzard support centre, of course, as well as that of all major tournaments. Heck, if resume from replay had not been added in, they'd probably have been the people to complain to in a good 5 years time from now. ;D Japan has a fighting game scene at least which might be mostly on consoles but I thought at least some of them were played on PCs. That said, any that are on PC and not on console (if there are any) would likely be on arcade anyway, so they would probably use arcade games.
Right, well, I'd like them to be a part of it, so we'll have to push for a ギャルゲーム eSports movement to kick-start their interest as a nation.
wow, so pumped to see new countries getting better in SC2..
The game seems to catch "new horizons" after all..
b.t.w. - It will probably be a local showmatch regardless.. There's something surely showmatch-type gonna be.. Everyone knows that CJ is the clear favourite here, so I personally think it's something of a "promotion" type game in the Japanese region rather than a competitive match
