ENZA was one if the several Japanese wc3 players. He played NE. There were several though.
Also Japan had some BW pro gamers, but I don't know too much about them.
Pretty sure Japan had some reaally good non-Blizzard rts gamers too.
All I remember about Japanese BW was that Jaedong played one (kuroa maybe?) at a WCG and said that he "played like the computer."
You're thinking a guy called zim at WCG where he race switched at very last second and tried to cheese him, spectacularly failed and jaedong remarked "It was like I was playing against AI"
Happened twice actually. Zim was like a legit D- (think silver/gold), then later with a Japanese B- named kurOa. Both times JD compared them to the AI
Zim also wasnt Japanese. He was from Azerbaidžan. Probably worst player ever in WCG history...
from the twitchchat: "Cjentusteam: 예상치 못한 통신 문제가 발생하여 경기 시작 시간이 20분 정도 지연될 것 같습니다. 복구되는대로 경기 중계 시작하겠습니다. Sorry, game broadcast is delayed because of unexpected internet problems. It will be started as soon as possible."

I was a bit surprised kurOa wasn't one of their choices, as I do know that name and have seen his stream a couple of times, but then maybe the others I don't recognise are better. + Show Spoiler +

Imagine toying around with a PC game you haven't heard too much about except that its the sequel to a game that was Massive in Korea, then seeing live on-stage a demonstration of what one can do in the game with dedicated practice and study.
If I were in Japan and knew a bunch of heavy gamers, I'd promote the hell out of this event to them! Worst case scenario, CJ Entus just went abroad to stomp a bunch of foreigners, as would be expected of any such show match. Best case scenario, this is the start point of a stronger Japanese SC2 scene and in an amusing reversal of SC:BW's fate, Japan gets a native translation for Legacy of the Void. I hope team Japan takes at least one game off of CJ Entus and inspires a visible SC2 scene in Japan.
It would be fantastic if it created interested as you imagine/wish! * Day-dreamy eyes *
