It's ok DRG will represent for the WoL zergs (he has to considering NesTea isn't even in WCS Korea and life and Leenock are code a.)

sucks that he actually did spend ten straight seasons in the top flight korean league, only to have one of them not count.

If Mr Chae wasn't a retardedly biased IM fanboy, Leenock would have gotten the award.

And yes I am mad. Dunno why Mr Chae decided to do like he did. And also if Blizzard had started the WCS system one season later Leenock would have gotten it as well.

Should just give Leenock the award and then if DRG/MKP qualifies them as well. And then discontinue the award altogether cause it will take 4 years to get it now.

I would be sad if Leenock dropped out of his 9th season. But it wasn't his 9th, it was his 10th and he did what was required.

DRG an MKP did NOT qualify for osl, so why count leenock and give them a free pass?? thats bs too.

"NesTea Award is customary prize awarded to any player who plays in GSL Code S for 10 times in a row." - Liquipedia.

The keywords there is "GSL Code S," and it has been like that since the beginning. OSL code S doesn't count.

The issue, if I understand it correctly, is that MSL and OSL results were independent of one another. Where as OSL and Code S results are intrinsically tied together. Leenock is now in Code A for the upcoming GSL tournament because of his results in an OSL tournament.

The MSL and OSL comparison isn't a good parallel if I am correct in my understanding. Leenock was indeed screwed by the powers that be if that was the case. My major complaint would be if there was a cash prize that Leenock now does not receive. A player with consistent and great results should be rewarded in our community. Being a pro gamer is hard enough of a life as it is without people stiffing players.

So happy keen made it though. 3 MVP players in Code S (soon to be four when DRG wins NesTea award )

As if he could control it being Starleague?

And everyone calls OSL Code S anyway. We all know it's Code S. So it is 9 seasons of GOM Code S and then 1 season of OGN Code S. It was Code S nontheless and he qualified through GOMtv Up and Down last season. If it had been a completely separate qualifier I wouldn't argue. But 10 seasons in a row is 10 seasons in a row.

Oh well, SC2 just lost a few more viewers until he gets the award. Deserving ppl not getting what they achieved is pretty bullshit. It's like changing the prizepool in a tournament right before the final.

Lol you must be new here. Even back in the Brood War days MSL and OSL (and GOM Classic) were always separate entities. Why would an achievement in an OGN tournament count towards a GOM tournament series title? Hardly reasonable.

And lol @ "SC2 just lost a few more viewers until he gets the award." Wow... that line was so edgy you managed to cut me even though we're not in the same country. XDDDDDDD

I'm getting tired of it too and it doesn't help when I always thought the term Code S and Code A was stupid. Whomever came up with that idea. This is me giving you the CJ face. -_- At least you guys could have branched it to other sports. You know, it might just help outsiders better understand the complex system instead of going, "what does that even mean?"

Yeah, stop kidding yourself. Keen and Leenock were easily the favorites, and Avenge is more popular (and has more recent notable results in GSTL) than Pigbaby. Pigbaby is a nobody. Just because you're a fan doesn't make him a favorite hahaha.

Uh, no they weren't and this is coming from a huge Leenock fan. if you've been paying attention to PL you would know Pigbaby is legit. That's what we call selective reasoning at it's finest bud. You watch GSTL. Good for you. So do I and I also watch PL. If you were following PL in the slightest where you'd see Pigbaby do his thing you'd know this. Look at the polls as well. Pigbaby; Pigbaby; Pigbaby. I'm not even a real fan of Pigbaby's but I know when someone is running good, so save the nonsense for somewhere else.

lol. Pigbaby won 3 games in Proleague. That plus a mediocre performance in Code A. What polls ya lookin at bud? Pigbaby wasn't first or even THIRD in any I've seen. There's just no way he could have been called the favorite to get out of this group, when Keen and Leenock are accomplished monsters. You're dumb, bro.

Pigbaby cheesy pig.

So Pigbaby won a DT Rush vs DT Rush game against Zest, Soul Trained a RorO that had droned up to 60 and could not get the proper scout, proxy-Void Rays rushed Rain and Cannon Rushed Avenge. You can say talent, or you can say cheesy pig. (I say cheesy pig.)

This is what I mean, you just worded it a lot better.

We always talk about how we want consistant players, that the pro scene change too much. And when we finally get one, who managed to stay in Korea top 32 for 20 months in a row (note that Nestea did it for 17months to get the award), we don't reward him because he got fucked by higher powers. There was literally nothing he could do to prevent WCS mixing between OSL/GSL. It was out of his power.

As I said, it is the same tournament. Everyone agrees that it is Code S. Even when you dropped down from OSL you went to Code A / up and down that was held by GOM.

It's like saying that whoever wins WCS America now wins a completely different tournament that the one HerO won cause they changed from MLG -> NASL. It's the same tournament..

It just makes me sad that he got so fucked by higher powers that when he finally accomplished something in Korea he won't even get the prize for it. And it's almost impossible to start the streak now and get the award so..

WCS America was not MLG though. Nor NASL. It was just WCS America.

Blizzard chose to make the distinction between WCS Korea GSL and WCS Korea OSL, not just in terms of who organizes it. Poor analogy imo.

And no matter what you say or think, it is NOT the same tournament. And I find it very laughable that you say "everyone agrees" when in this very thread people disagree and make the distinction.

And no matter what you say or think, it is NOT the same tournament. And I find it very laughable that you say "everyone agrees" when in this very thread people disagree and make the distinction.

Leenock qualified for his 10th season through GOM's up and downs into Code S.
Reread this part until you get it.

He actually did qualify 10 seasons in a row, in GOM's rules and laws. It wasn't OGNs Up and Downs. And then AFTER he did it for 10 seasons in a row with GOM's rules he still won't get rewarded because he just happened to qualify for OSL (yet once again, 10 seasons with GOMs rules) that season that was completely out of his power.

If he could have chosen between qualifying for OSL or GSL that season he would have gotten the award. Because he did it through GOM's qualification system for his 10th season. He did what was required 9 seasons in a row and then requalify with GOMs rules into Code S for his 10th season. The Code S just happened to be OSL that time because Blizzard made WCS. How can you not say he got fucked by higher powers?

"Oh you played in the DreamHack qualifier and qualified? Shame we changed it to Kenyas superlan and there is nothing you can do about it."
Better analogy?

no nestea award for leenock

sucks that he actually did spend ten straight seasons in the top flight korean league, only to have one of them not count.

If Mr Chae wasn't a retardedly biased IM fanboy, Leenock would have gotten the award.

"Oh you did the requirement of 10 Code S seasons in a row? Shame it wasn't the right type of Code S huehuelolol ^_^_^_^"
- Mr Chae 2013

And yes I am mad. Dunno why Mr Chae decided to do like he did. And also if Blizzard had started the WCS system one season later Leenock would have gotten it as well.

Should just give Leenock the award and then if DRG/MKP qualifies them as well. And then discontinue the award altogether cause it will take 4 years to get it now.

I would be sad if Leenock dropped out of his 9th season. But it wasn't his 9th, it was his 10th and he did what was required.

Yeah I kinda agree. It would be quite obnoxious if MKP/DRG gets the award while Leenock doesn't.

And everyone calls OSL Code S anyway. We all know it's Code S. So it is 9 seasons of GOM Code S and then 1 season of OGN Code S.

He cheesed the shit out of Ragnarok in code A too (soul train and then proxy gates).

Mediocre? Pwease. This guy's been on a rampage for T8 for a while and where the heck you think? Look at the LRs and bets on the gaming sites. He was a heavy favorite to make it out. Nice attempt at a jab, but it is you who are in fact clueless. Watch more SC2, thx.
