Kespa came and delivered a ton of new pros. The market has only room for a certain amount of pro's, so some have to go. This + just life: some people go study, some stop because of injuries, army, or just because they get too old and start a family.

It's not. It's august, and like every fucking year contracts are expiring and many pros ask themselves whether they should stop. Lol doesn't shot down any fucking game and no you don't have to kill yourself. On top of that atm there are more korean pro gamers for starcraft than there have ever been for brood war. Star 2 isn't dieing, and it won't die until star 3 comes up, and for the love of god I really wish our community wouldn't be full of morons who believe otherwise, because tbh I think it looks so retardet to any outsider getting into star 2 when people keep saying the game is dead, when it is the dumbest thing you could ever say about a game that literally produces more content than anyone can consume. On top of that there are freaking 3 broadcasters of starcraft in korea, lol being bigger doesn't mean no other game can exist, hell brood war was bigger at it's peak than lol is right now and even then there was enough room for other games to coexist in korea.

Was not disappointed. If anything, there might be a problem with all these people who are getting wrist injuries for playing SC2 too much. Maybe Blizzard needs to make the game more accessible and easier to play?

Pretty much this. Even with the recent retirements, the amount of pro players is still much much larger now compared to the pre-Kespa days.

I cam agree with that. He looks held with-in most of the time all serious and everything, but everyone remembers his gangnam dance when the korean's flights were delayed. I think he'd be a great commentator. Sad to see him go, but good luck where ever he persues his next career !

Well if you look closely, a lot of Esf players are Kespa progeniture. MvP and Ganzi in WJS, Nestea in KT rolster (as almost all IM player i think (Kespa not KT i meant)). Si Kespa always delivered tons of new pros even when they were still playing BW.
But we still have a lot of good player around here. Sad to see Ganzi retire thou. Contracts ending are bringing lot of bad surprises
