![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/HSkHgO3.png) Now that our Academy roster has been finalized it is time to start showcasing its talent. Currently there are no new team leagues ready to start a new season just quite yet. We unfortunately missed the cut off for URTL season 2 by a couple of weeks. Outside of WCS and without daily tournaments like Playhem we have few avenues at the moment to showcase our roster. For that reason Clarity will be hosting a series of showmatches between our Academy and the likes of other Academies in the NA and EU regions. Seeing as Clarity Academy is the new kid on the block, we thought it would be fitting to challenge the OG Starcraft 2 Academy over at Complexity Gaming. They were the first NA team to introduce the Academy platform to Starcraft 2 and have made big things happen for the likes of Sasquatch and Goswser over the last two years. Let’s see if their current roster is ready for Clarity Academy! We’re putting up $100 for every showmatch just to raise the stakes a bit. Tune in on Saturday 5/11 at 9PM EST for the showmatch. It will be cast and covered by our very own Wyrd and ZombieGrub! You will find all of the details below. These showdowns will be recurring to some extent, but not on any particular, set schedule. Our next opponent is already being scheduled. If you’re interested in challenging us, we would be more than happy to oblige. Feel free to shoot an email over to: clarityacademy@gmail.com if you would like any more information or would like to set something up! ![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/T5AkONn.png) ![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/IOl4ber.png) As stated above, our first opponent for the Academy Showdown series will be oldest running Academy in the NA Starcaft 2 scene, if not in the global Starcraft 2 scene: Complexity Academy. Complexity has done a great job the last couple of years fostering talent in North America, graduating the likes of Goswser and Sasquatch. Their current roster boasts a talented line up as well. This weekend you will have the pleasure of seeing any one of the seven players from the Complexity roster: Complexity Roster: Protoss:AGIANTSMURF Duster Poo Kyo Zerg:FireZerg Nocreativity Midday Terran:SnixSnipe Kiom While the Clarity Academy is extremely new, it’s line up is also incredibly solid. You may have seen quite a few of these players stand out in the recent WCS NA qualifiers; both the Premier and Challenger divisions. We are currently open to doing BO7 or BO9 format in the future, or if a team would prefer - the Pro league format. Both match format styles are quite flexible and easy to follow for the live cast. The Details for this showdown vs Complexity Academy are as follows:When: Saturday 5/11 9PM EST Where: Clarity Gaming Twitch.TV: http://www.twitch.tv/wyrd5Who: Clarity Academy vs Complexity Academy Match Format: Winner’s Format Best of 7 Starting Map: Akilon Wastes Starting Players: ClarityBails vs ComplexityPoo The Map Pool:+ Show Spoiler + Akilon - Starting Map Daybreak Derelict watcher Zerus Prime Whirlwind GSL Star Station Neo Planet S Bel’Shire Vestige Cloud Kingdom
Rules - Map Vetoes:+ Show Spoiler + There are 9 maps available. Each team will select one permanent map veto at the start of the match. This leaves 6 maps to choose from (minus the starting map) for the entirety of the match. The starting map may not be vetoed. Maps may not be played twice. The winning team/player will veto a map of their choosing after the next player is chosen by the losing team. The Losing team/player will choose a map from the remaining pool. Map vetoes will reset with each round, excluding the 2 permanent vetoes, and the maps already played.
Other Rules:+ Show Spoiler + The loser of the previous game picks the next map. Spectators are not allowed. Only the casters, and one manager per team will be allowed to observe each game. Spectators will -not- be allowed in any game being cast officially for the tournament. Disconnects/Drops: If a player drops before the 5 minute mark the game must be replayed unless both players agree to resume from replay. If a player drops past the 5 minute mark the game will be resumed from replay unless an Admin declares an imminent victory to either one of the players. Players must be set to "busy," while their match is in progress. Players have up to 5 minutes in between games to take a break, choose next map, etc. All matches will be played on the NA server. Cheating is not tolerated. We don’t expect it at this level, but here is a rule saying it will be dealt with if we find conclusive evidence that someone is hacking or stream cheating. Any unlisted rule or disagreement must be communicated to a match admin prior the start of a match. Match admins reserve the right to alter, change, add, or remove any rules at any point in time; within reason and without bias.
![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/OS4zeIy.png) The prize pool and organization behind each showmatch is sponsored by Clarity Gaming. We believe that highlighting these up and coming players is essential to their growth in the industry as it was to those before them and those who will come after. We hope that through these showmatches we may garner more attention, visibility, and respect to these fantastic players; both within and outside of Clarity Gaming. Can't wait! Should be a great series! :D
|
Excited for this, seems like a cool idea.
|
Just wanted to bring to your attention that both starting players say they're from Clarity Starting Match Up: Game 1: Protoss ClarityBails Akilon Wastes Protoss ClarityPoo
|
Hoping for a TBo all kill.
|
|
Would've been cool if the Clarity Academy was playing a team that could actually compete at their level oh well maybe next time

Updated, thanks!

Oh cool, AGIANTSMURF and Firezerg. Didn't know those guys were in Complexity Academy, I hope I can see them play.
|
I got like $40 on Bails. Have you ever seen him play on his stream?
|
Clairty has Terrans so Clarity wins =P
|
Clarity should win this. Poo and smurf and fire zerg are good. what happened to Fuzzy? Clarity Fighting

Should be a good match! More than a BO7 would've been nice though. I think PL format would be quite interesting for a showmatch like this.

|
So.. torn on who to root for.. :O
|
I'm actually T ;(
we also have another Z to add to the lineup, though I'm not sure if it was announced yet

Hmm, that's funny because I asked Twixz for an up to date line up and he typed our Random for you. I knew you were Terran but assumed you switched because he made a point to type out "random," not just "R" in place of "T." Anyway, I update the roster and changed you to Terran.
Getting pretty pumped for this tomorrow! Going to be watching from the LAN where Poo will be playing from

we could easily compete at the clarity level if we all decided to offrace
I'm hyped. just kinda wish it was a bo9 instead of a bo7 so you could have the chance of seeing an extra clarity player out on the field, ya know?

LOL the beef flying is funny and exciting to see I look forward to some good matches, but I agree it should be a Bo9! More talent from both sides can be shown haha. Less then a day to go though so definitely excited

Funny man, made me laugh.
In light of that, maybe I'll try to convince Bails to let you guys win a game. No promises though.

Duster ALL KILL!! Can't wait!
|
For the record - I wanted a BO9. It was your manager who requested the BO7! We could easily change that on the spot tonight. Not a hard thing to change.

Pumped to see how this plays out. Hoping to see all 9 games played so we can see as many players as possible, although I definitely want Clarity to win here.

Clarity up one game! Keep it up!

Wow, Clarity's Bails is up 3-0 in the BO9. FireZerg just threw away a big Muta flock by engaging a Stalker + Storm army and eating 3 consecutive Storms...
|
Bails has some sick nasty PvP.
I'm liking it . All kill?
|
4-0 now, Bails making it look pretty easy at the moment.
|
Bails is one sick sick baller..
Get the guy some medicine.

Clarity gaming showing why they have big bails. Really disappointing play from complexity. I was expecting more.
|
I wish I was good enough to know if the score is this way because Complexity is bad... or because Clarity is really, really good.

one of the only good players on complexity acad is in now

I'm aware Sasquatch and Goswser came from the Academy, but I don't feel that lets me assume that the Complexity Academy is positively crawling with next year's foreigner hopes, especially since they just got handed a 4-0 beatdown by the first Clarity player to hit the field.

kiom is going to reverse all kill these kids, relax
in fact, pack your things you're done

better luck next time i guess

Who beat who so far? The stream is lagging like crazy for me and there is no option to turn down the quality.

Very even match. Both academys have really talented players with a lot of potential. Will be an interesting watch!

Bails has qualified for the WCS Challenger division, was a couple spots away from qualifying for the new SHOUTCraft tournament, and consistently does well in team practice. He's definitely no slouch.

that was one of the most intense games i have seen in a while

...and I'm not saying he isn't. This conversation started because I do not possess sufficient knowledge of this game or the team's rosters to say whether or not the initial beatdown was due to Clarity being very good or Complexity being not as good.

Thanks for posting this! I also updated the OP. I was at a LAN tournament yesterday which went really late, didn't get a chance to update the OP until this morning.
Really great games and awesome turn around from Kiom. I love when things go to a game 9 in a BO9. GG's Complexity!
We'll have another showdown coming in a week or two against our next opponent!
