This is the most amazing piece of documentary ever done about esports and one of the best documentary i ever watched (and i watch a lot of them). The movie is overall beautifully shot and does an amazing job at capturing all the emotions in esports. You follow the journey of three different gamers (a star, a semi-pro and an amateur) and it pictures very well how cut throat the Starcraft competition is in Korea. It will be available for streaming in September but if you have any chance to watch it before i highly recommend you to not miss it ! Edit : Also, so many stars of the SC2 scene at the movie premiere. Basically all the EG team and taeja were there, MVP, the LG-IM coach and some other players from LG-IM. JYP even stepped in and asked a question to the realisator during the Q&A, but i cant remember which one it was. Also that interview translation is Korean->Chinese->English so its really not accurate. For an example in the end the realisator said that he really wanted to thank the main characters once again, and their family for allowing them to film their day to day life. He especially thanked the 8th Team for letting them coming in the team house so many times and so early in the morning.

Seems to be the trend that they never really see the light of day. Will definitely watch when it comes out.

Almost every single movie competition requires you to not have your movie available online in order to enter the competition. They will be able to put it online in september the realisator already said that

They showed trailers for it at a bunch of tournaments, but I haven't heard anything about it actually being released. Feature-length films take a long time to make. It is an incredible amount of work. If you do a lil looking on Star Nation you can find out that there have been rough cuts of the film done, but it is still not quite there yet. (check their facebook page or twitter) Many people have gotten frustrated with this and came up with the argument that if you take to long to release a doc, it will no longer be timely. To suggest this is to misunderstand the nature and purpose of documentary film. Its not a news source.

Trailer made it look like it mostly covered JD's era of dominance before Flash took the wheel in 2010. Can anyone speak to if this is the case? It's more about the life of a gamer, less about him being the best (although that did have a role)
