![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/AdLe8.jpg) Due to undisclosed circumstances, Felipe " dKiLLeR" Zuñiga will be unable to attend IEM Katowice on January 18th-20th. Replacing him (based on North American Qualifier results) will be Kevin " cSiphonn" Bentz. Siphonn will be taking KiLLeR's spot in Group B at the tournament where he will compete against Acer.Bly, K3.LucifroN, and SKT1.PartinG as well as the Open Bracket Qualifiers seeded into the group. He will also be the only representation in the tournament from the United States, the other North American Qualifier spots belonging to his teammate Man Hyeok " cJookTo" Jo, and Cho Myung " ST.Golden" Hwan. I spoke to Siphonn briefly about his last-minute replacement of KiLLeR and his trip to Poland. "After losing to ST.Golden and then to iSAxslav in Stage 3 of the Katowice American Qualifiers, I was pretty bummed out. All the games I lost were close, and I knew it would have been a sick opportunity to go to Europe (for my first time) to compete in a StarCraft tournament. When I found out I would actually have the chance to go, I was ecstatic and couldn't turn down the opportunity. I am heading into Group B with PartinG, Bly, and Lucifron. As tough as a group it is, I'm not going to let myself go into it having doubts about winning, and I am going to be 100% confident in my ability. There is no reason to doubt yourself, no matter the obstacle that stands in front of you. I am going to go to Poland, represent Clarity, represent USA, AND BRING BACK THAT CHAMPIONSHIP!...... but seriously, I won't let myself get last." We'll certainly be cheering hard for both of the Clarity Gaming players at IEM Katowice! EDIT: Photo Source: TeamLiquid, MLG RaleighIt has been confirmed that Illyes " EG.Stephano[RC]" Satouri will also be unable to attend the event, his seed in Group C will be filled by 9th place finisher in the EU Qualifier, Giacomo " aTn.Socke" Thüs. His group opponents will be cJookTo, Acer.Nerchio, and LG-IM.YoDa

Thanks for the info and good luck to cSiphonn.
Edit: After the OP has been edited heavily - of course good luck Socke!!!

They are going to become a big name team. I can feel it.

I am already a fan they have been really making themselves know lately
Congrats Siphonn, what an opportunity. gl hf ^^
crush em brah. they weak son
I saw on Suppy's stream that he was supposed to go but he felt that he wasn't in shape to go. Glad to see another American going over to represent. I got to see Siphonn play in MLG Columbus 2012 and I was pretty impressed. Congrats and hopefully this will be his breakout tourney.
Glad to see some NA representation there!
Slightly off topic, but I'm always annoyed that NA quali spots get taken by people who aren't North American

gratz, really cool opportunity. show em your skills!
Grats Siphonn! You got a tough group though (PartinG and LucifroN will be insanely difficult, Bly is really good too).
Slightly off topic, but I'm always annoyed that NA quali spots get taken by people who aren't North American
Well what can you do =/
EDIT: GL Socke! Also, curious as to how SKTT1.PartinG will work out. I'd assume because of the whole kongregation of DH, MLG and ESL, he can still go (breaking the exclusivity of MLG's deal with KeSPa).
Like I always say whenever I see Siphon mentioned, I remember the MLG play by play thing he did with PainUser almost 2 years ago now

Both Golden, at the time, and JookTo played the qualifier from North America from their respective team houses.

I wonder what is Killer's financial situation. Every IEM that happens, he manages to qualify, but he is always unable to attend

i can understand KiLLeR's decision. The costs to fly to europe from chile must be pretty high - IEM's in the past guaranteed him 600€ at least. nowadays, there is open bracket players joining the 4-man groups, and looking at his group now, he would probably have a rought time getting any money out of this tournament.

Clarity getting all the breaks :D GOGO!

Good luck Siphonn, I'll be rooting for you.

TOTALLY NOT A BUMP
Seriously though, pretty cool to see some new faces every once in a while.
Let's see how far he goes! GLHF! =D
Siphonn got last (or second last) in that qualifier though. Did everyone else not accept the seed?
that's some confidence! great to see that in players!!
Good luck to you then!!!

Socke replaces Stephano
Two Zerg players out, two Protoss players in As KiLLeR and Stephano both will not be able to participate in the event, Socke and Siphonn, two Protoss players, will be taking their spots.
Siphonn will be in Group B replacing KiLLeR, while Socke, as 9th qualifying player through the European qualifiers, will be taking Stephano's place in Group C. Siphonn had beaten players such as Goswser, Ryze and KawaiiRice to get into Stage 3 of the American qualifiers.
I assume he's too sick to be in good shape after such a long flight, so he cancelled.
Bad news for dignitas, great news for clarity. Let's hope that Siphonn will be a worthy replacement. :-) Four days left till IEM Katowice!
Isn't it like the first IEM that dKiller isn't competing in?

Good luck man. Recognized your name immediately from a game we played back in the day on Shakuras.

I remember several months ago (April, to be exact), moving your article on Liquipedia to your userspace because you didn't seem notable enough. Today I approved it being moved back into mainspace Congratulations! I always have a slight hope when I move pages to userspace that I'll see them move back to mainspace some day, so it was a joy to see it happen!

yey, Stephano skips this ZvZ fest to train for PL an GSL, really like that decision
Yes! Go Socke! Weird that the news came so late thought, as Stephano's stay in Korea was probably planned some time ago.
like a week ago he tweeted that he will play... kinda:

The 21-24th places still get 600$ now, so that did´nt really change. Maybe he has visa-problems again, I thinkhe had to leave out either Kiew or China last year because of them.
From a viewers perspecrtive -2 Zergs +2 Protoss is not to bad these days. Stephano´s decision is understandable, he has Proleague and GSL to focus on and his ZvZ is potentially one of the worst in this tourney - Which is nothing to be ashamed of with the opposition, he would face there.
Well, these decisions are sometimes not decided by him anymore, it was probably EGs management who canceled that trip on short notice.
Stephano would attract more views and i was curious how would Killer do, eh... At least they are replaced by not-zergs
venue teaser + Show Spoiler +

venue looks pretty nice, arena style

liking Stephano's decision to stay in Korea. i also like the fact that Socke is gonna be there
Glad to see Socke getting more opportunities. He's consistently underrated, and may be somewhat inconsistent at times, but when he comes to play, he's a fucking savage.
so parting+kespa would that be a no go too? My bet is inclining to yes but still they might surprise us
Well that makes things a little bit more fair to the opposition, haha. Best of luck to Socke, and also Stephano who's obviously going for Korea! :D

This is going to be awesome! Congrats to Siphonn and Clarity Gaming on being able to take dKiller's spot. I heard he's been training really hard and I can't wait to see his progress over the last couple months :D
