For all of the examples you gave, except January 2011 MVP, all of the players looked incredibly mortal in their successful runs. Even if they did not lose very much or not lose at all, many games looked incredibly close and had outcomes which could be ascribed to luck. Despite all that, as I've stated earlier, even the best players performing at their absolute best dip up and down. No one has been consistently dominant in SC2 so far. At any given moment, the "rank ten" player or even "rank twenty" player could knock out the "top three" player in any given situation. It has happened over and over again. You're actually completely wrong, from MLG Anaheim to Blizzard Cup Mvp either won every tournament he entered or lost after making top 4 to only two players in premiers. Those players being Leenock and MMA, who were the rank 2 and 3 players at the time. He won MLG Anaheim, GSL August, Blizzcon, WCG KR, Arena of Legends Team Ace Invitational, MLG Global Invitational Korea and WCG world finals. Took second in GSL October ( losing to MMA, rank 2 player ) got to the semi finals in GSL Nov ( lost to Leenock, the rank 3 player ) Lost to Leenock in MLG providence in the 4th place match after coming from the open bracket. Lost to MMA in the Blizzard Cup, and lost to MMA in the GeForce Pro/Am. For those 5 months he only lost a series that eliminated him from a tournament to those two players and once to Naniwa in the MLG global invitational ( non premier tournament ) during Providence. You're nitpicking saying things like " they may have won but the games were close or luck based ". It's just grasping at straws, if the game was truly so random you wouldn't have players who win 3+ premier tournaments in a short period of time.

Oh wait... none of which, not even the japanese posting system, is so backstage. get your tribalism in check find me a process with practically 0 marginal value for bidding high in any professional sports league, and you'll see a very team dominated system with no players rights.

[B]Team 8 could also use Parting, but seeing as they're sponsored by KeSPA, it would open a can of worms if the KeSPA team somehow got one of the best players in the world. this basically happened in reverse in the NBA, where the NBA run Hornets had to move Chris Paul, and then the NBA rejected a completed trade for him and essentially picked where he ended up playing. in this case though, I don't think it would be that bad. he has already negotiated his salary, so it's not like T8 could get him on the cheap. sure, you could call the randomization process into question, but that could be the case wherever he goes. that said, I don't think there's any chance he goes to T8. they could use the Jaedong money to buy him, but they sold JD for a reason, and it wasn't because he wasn't good enough.

The Association will receive bids on PartinG until the 11th, and in the case multiple teams make bids, the team to acquire PartinG will be decided on through a random drawing on the 14th with PartinG, and team and KeSPA officials present. so the teams that bid, they cant decide to give him more salary trough the bidding process? the salary is set if i read that correctly. this drawing is weird, i mean, why cant he decide where he wanna go if multiple teams bid the same salary and terms? Yeah, typical asian business like NBA, NFL, NHL, MLB... Oh wait... its not really like this in european football. if u wanna buy a player and multiple teams bid, hey, then u gonna pay more.

why cant he decide where he wanna go if multiple teams bid the same salary and terms? because kespa exists to support the teams, not the players. in this case, I think it's a pretty good method, honestly. gives the lower tier teams a better shot.

They are doing there best to preserve the balance of the league. If they let the highest bidder win, it would for sure be SKT or KT. If its parting's choice its most probably still gonna be SKT or KT (maybe STX coz SOUL). Atleast with the random draft system, there is a chance that the lower half tier teams are gonna get him, if they bid.

It should go to whoever has the lowest ranking at the time of the 'draw' (so Samsung in this case). It should go to whoever bids highest, otherwise Parting could get shafted.

Fair enough, I just hope Parting doesn't get shafted (lower salary than what he's worth, bad team environment to be going into etc.). In the end it's all about results, whatever doesn't hurt his results.
