The Association will receive bids on PartinG until the 11th, and in the case multiple teams make bids, the team to acquire PartinG will be decided on through a random drawing on the 14th with PartinG, and team and KeSPA officials present.

The above posting method will apply not only to PartinG, but all eSF players who become teamless at the end of their contracts and express their desire to join a KeSPA team.

Also, in the case this posting process occurs again for a teamless player, teams that have already acquired a player through the posting will receive a lesser priority in the bidding and lottery process.

Does this acutally mean that if Parting (or any other player) wanted to join KT Rolster he could end up being part of Samsung KHAN's roster ?

,gah, more backstage bullshit. typical asian business practice

Kespa players are very good. This season of Proleague has shown some really nice games. It's really unfair and biased to assume that Parting would be so much better than the Kespa players when he's lost to multiple Kespa players before.

He's the WCS world champion. He recently won a few other minor events (WCG) and is on form at the moment. Parting is so much better than almost all players, Kespa or not.

All the top Koreans are basically around the same level. Literally no one, not even 2011 MVP, has demonstrated actual complete dominance for extended periods of time. Every single player has had their ups and downs. Players appear, vanish, and reappear in the span of months.

Parting might do well in Proleague, but there's no guarantee that he would dominate like "lions among tiger cubs."

I don't think anyone is trying to say he will never lose a game, but you're ignorant if you think players haven't shown " dominance " at points during sc2. There are lots of cases of dominance. 2011 GSL January Mvp. GSL May & July Nestea where he won one of the seasons without losing a single game. Mvp from July 2011 to December 2011. MMA from GSL Oct to Blizzard Cup. Squirtle at IPL4 and 2012 GSL S2. Marineking in early 2012 with his back to back MLG wins in the winter season. DRG in early/mid 2012, winning a GSL, two MLG's and getting second place in two MLG's. Leenock in late 2012 winning a MLG, getting second in another MLG, and winning IPL5. And most recently Life winning two GSL's and an MLG in the span of two months, and Parting at BWC, WCG then Blizzard Cup taking 2 golds and a silver in three premier tournaments in about a month span, also winning the MLG tournament of champions.

Right now Parting and Life are on the top of the world, they are " dominating ".

They might all be near the same " skill level " but all of them but a select few are missing the qualities needed to become a multiple champion and perform in high stakes situations. Mvp is known for winning just because he's Mvp, despite not being at the top of the " skill " level.

If Parting can keep his form he will be the best player in Proleague and have the best record when he starts playing in round 4, assuming he adjusts to HOTS well.

I said extended periods of time. For all of the examples you gave, except January 2011 MVP, all of the players looked incredibly mortal in their successful runs. Even if they did not lose very much or not lose at all, many games looked incredibly close and had outcomes which could be ascribed to luck. Despite all that, as I've stated earlier, even the best players performing at their absolute best dip up and down.

No one has been consistently dominant in SC2 so far. At any given moment, the "rank ten" player or even "rank twenty" player could knock out the "top three" player in any given situation. It has happened over and over again.

You're actually completely wrong, from MLG Anaheim to Blizzard Cup Mvp either won every tournament he entered or lost after making top 4 to only two players in premiers. Those players being Leenock and MMA, who were the rank 2 and 3 players at the time. He won MLG Anaheim, GSL August, Blizzcon, WCG KR, Arena of Legends Team Ace Invitational, MLG Global Invitational Korea and WCG world finals. Took second in GSL October ( losing to MMA, rank 2 player ) got to the semi finals in GSL Nov ( lost to Leenock, the rank 3 player ) Lost to Leenock in MLG providence in the 4th place match after coming from the open bracket. Lost to MMA in the Blizzard Cup, and lost to MMA in the GeForce Pro/Am. For those 5 months he only lost a series that eliminated him from a tournament to those two players and once to Naniwa in the MLG global invitational ( non premier tournament ) during Providence.

You're nitpicking saying things like " they may have won but the games were close or luck based ". It's just grasping at straws, if the game was truly so random you wouldn't have players who win 3+ premier tournaments in a short period of time.

none of which, not even the japanese posting system, is so backstage. get your tribalism in check

find me a process with practically 0 marginal value for bidding high in any professional sports league, and you'll see a very team dominated system with no players rights.

[B]Team 8 could also use Parting, but seeing as they're sponsored by KeSPA, it would open a can of worms if the KeSPA team somehow got one of the best players in the world.

this basically happened in reverse in the NBA, where the NBA run Hornets had to move Chris Paul, and then the NBA rejected a completed trade for him and essentially picked where he ended up playing.

in this case though, I don't think it would be that bad. he has already negotiated his salary, so it's not like T8 could get him on the cheap. sure, you could call the randomization process into question, but that could be the case wherever he goes. that said, I don't think there's any chance he goes to T8. they could use the Jaedong money to buy him, but they sold JD for a reason, and it wasn't because he wasn't good enough.

so the teams that bid, they cant decide to give him more salary trough the bidding process? the salary is set if i read that correctly. this drawing is weird, i mean, why cant he decide where he wanna go if multiple teams bid the same salary and terms?

Yeah, typical asian business like NBA, NFL, NHL, MLB... Oh wait...
its not really like this in european football. if u wanna buy a player and multiple teams bid, hey, then u gonna pay more.

Can people PLEASE stop posting about this and calling it "betrayals" or whatever the fuck you're writing? He played out his contract and made a decision to switch, you could in that case argue that everyone that left the KeSPA-teams from the beginning to play SC2 also were TRAITORS...

Its in his full right to do this and I will support him no matter what.

Why wouldnt he be able to play right away, and calling it unfair? EG-TL has tons of Code S level players. Never heard that was unfair??

because kespa exists to support the teams, not the players. in this case, I think it's a pretty good method, honestly. gives the lower tier teams a better shot.

They are doing there best to preserve the balance of the league. If they let the highest bidder win, it would for sure be SKT or KT. If its parting's choice its most probably still gonna be SKT or KT (maybe STX coz SOUL). Atleast with the random draft system, there is a chance that the lower half tier teams are gonna get him, if they bid.

Only if they have their contracts expire. Parting's contract expired at the end of the year.
Also dislike that multiple bids results in a random drawing. It should go to whoever has the lowest ranking at the time of the 'draw' (so Samsung in this case).

It should go to whoever bids highest, otherwise Parting could get shafted.

Sucks that the team that you end up on could be up to chance. I'm not going to speculate where he will end up.

skt or kt can pay the other teams to have parting. it's a coase problem with a backstage solution.

only difference between this outcome and a free bid system with the highest contract winning is that the smaller teams instead of parting will be getting his value.

man this whole KeSPA e-sports Federation thing is hardcore...as much as I like to have players being salaried and taken care of, it seems so contractual. Good luck to PartinG though .

Fair enough, I just hope Parting doesn't get shafted (lower salary than what he's worth, bad team environment to be going into etc.). In the end it's all about results, whatever doesn't hurt his results.

Because rosters have to be set before the start of each round. I believe that's why Revival couldn't play for EG-TL in Round 1.
