Hello everyone it is me again ^^ Today we all got the sad news that our beloved NaDa retired from professional gaming. I am personally deeply shocked but I always will love him as my "Obba" and friend.
I saw all your sadness at TeamLiquid and Facebook, at Twitter and I want to give you the chance to say a proper "Goodbye" or anything else you always wanted to say to NaDa.
This Project will be called:
Letters for you...
What to do: Simply post in this Thread what you want to say to NaDa. Everything is allowed. This time I don't care if you write a letter, draw a picture, make a video or what ever you want to show him. 2. Letters for you I experience NaDa as a very warm hearted and caring person. That is why I chose a project like this. I want him to feel all the love we feel for him 3. How to join Just post everything in this Thread. I will not accept stuff via pm, eMail or facebook messages! 4. DEADLINE Since I am not really sure when NaDa has to leave, we will have only a few weeks to prepare everything. I will accept everything that is posted in this Thread until JULY 15th 2012 ! Sorry for this short time but I also need to finish it and send it to Korea ^^ 5. Your Messages Will become a book, and be safely delivered to NaDa ^^
For all those people who don't know me. You can trust in me and be 1000% sure that all your love will be send to NaDa himself! You can check out my earlier Projects for Jaedong here: A Zergling for Jaedong Messages from the World
"I wish you the best of luck for your future life. I always admired your competitive spirit and your supreme achievements in BW. Farewell, NaDa, you truly are one of the biggest heroes of Starcraft. May the stim be with you.
I am sorry you are retiring because I wasn't able to see your "tornado terran" days and I wanted to see more brilliance like that. I guess I will have to find some VODs GL HF in your next challenge :D
I wasn't able to know you for very long, but in the little time I was able to know you, you became an inspiration to me. I wish you the greatest of the luck in your future endeavors. Fighting!
Nada...it's been awesome watching you play for so many years. You've taught me so much about the game and have inspired me to play as much as I have...your insane handspeed is one of my life goals, and I wish you the best in whatever it is to do.
Thanks for giving me a good childhood watching you play :D
"The first BW match ever watched was with you in it. From then on you were one of my favorite players. You were one of the main reasons I started playing. It's unfortunate that your time with Starcraft has come to an end, but you will never be forgotten. I wish you all the best!
Nada, I've enjoyed your play in both bw and sc2. I'm glad I was able to watch you play such good games and leave behind many memories.I wish you the best of luck with everything in the future and I'm sure we will see you again someday. Never give up in anything you do and good luck! Nada fighting!
NaDa, you are simply the best, I always wished for you to continue your BW trend in sc2, although when you still are studying it is very difficult to do so. I think that if you didn't have this obstacle in your way, you would've been the best in sc2 as well. NaDa I salute you for being such a genuine person and truly loving your fans.
Lee Yun Yeol, I wish you luck in whatever you proceed to do. After your military service please do a new version of Kang Min's oldboy ! would love to see that! Genius Terran HWAITING LEE YUN YEOL!
Your hard work and achievements in BW and SC2 has inspired so many of your fans the world over. Your spirit will never be forgotten. For the next part of your journey I wish you health and peace of mind and know in your heart that you have the support and love of the SC community with you along the way.
Nada, I've been enjoying watching you play for years now! I cannot count the amazing times I've had watching your games(BW and Sc2!) with friends! Thank you! I wish you the best of luck in the future!
NaDa, your play has constantly inspired me to be better at StarCraft and your personality and dedication have inspired me to do the same with my life as a whole. Thank you for being NaDa.
"Nada, remember that in everything you do, we will always believe in you like we have always done. Thank you for the unforgetable memories you have given us. Never give up, your fans will always support you. You are a true inspiration to everyone. 감사합니다. 이윤열 화이팅! -Obelisco"
I don´t know anything about broodwar, but i always loved the "nada´s body" thread on TL and since i saw you first time playing in GSL i was a fan and never stopped cheering for you. You are one of the few korean Players i really love to see playing. Hope your future will be bright and succesfull!
NaDa, since the moment i first saw you in Sc2 i liked your gameplay; creative and unique. When i read about saViOr and his accomplishments, i found a VOD that showed you and him in the OSL finals, a real touching moment seeing you both - LEGENDS sitting in the boots and playing the game we all love - with such dedication! We will never forget what you did for the community and the games u showed us. I wish you the best of luck in life, stay healthy and never stop dreaming! Dreams become reality when people invest much into them! You are one of this kind! You are and will for ever stay a legend and a motivation! WE LOVE YOU!
Thank you NaDa, for everything you have done for Starcraft during all these years. You were one of the progamers I cheered for when I was following the scene closely back in 2003-2004, and you were still there when SC2 eventually got released. Your list of achievements is so amazingly impressive and I wish you all the best in the future. You will never be forgotten. We love you!
Message: "All the best and have a great life yoon yeol hyung, there are people all over the world who love you and followed your career and were happy whenever you were happy, you brought us alot of joy. Maybe you can come back once in a while and show yourself in the audience with us? Good Luck and stay healthy greetings from germany, chris"

Thank you so much NaDa for years and years of entertainment. You will be missed! I hope you find everything you're looking for in life. Keep on dreaming big! -Clarity
Good luck and best of wishes to you NaDa, you were one of the reasons I started to (and continue to) play Terran and still in my opinion one of the best players of all time. eSports won't be the same without the Tornado Terran.
NaDa, You are a progamer i've looked up to ever since i started watching professional games. You've always been an inspiration for me. I want to thank you for everything you've done and wish you the best of luck in whatever you decide to do in the future. You are a true legend and a bonjwa.
"NaDa, u gave us a hell of a run! I hope u let the fans know about your life every once and a while! I also hope u get to solve the issues that u have, and have a long and prosperous life! I am a bit sad though, u have always been a source of wisdom to me. I will miss u tons but at the same time I am very happy that u make choices u think are right in your life for you! NaDa fighting <3..

- Romário Espíndola Bueno ( sHy ), another fan, this time, from Brazil !
"NaDa you are a legend, and that is forever. For some reason I always cheered for you , maybe because i knew u always try your best , and your best is pure awesomeness.Know that I'll always take you as a Idol and a example of dedication to achieve dreams."
NaDa, you were my favourite player all the way back from Brood War, when a friend introduced me to SC, into SC2 where you once again impressed and endeared many. Thank you for all the wonderful memories. I honestly cried a few tears when I read that you had decided to call it quits. Once again, thank you, and good luck with whatever you set your mind on doing in the future. Much love all the way from Sweden!
" I love you NaDa!! Thank you for making the game itself a show for us!! I learned a lot from you! I hope you have a bright future!@ Just remember that all of us are behind you cheering you on~~ NaDa Hwaiting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D - Zenith

-Joon (Lucas Harrison)"
thanks so much for doing all of this. I know that my TL account is new and without many posts, but I have lurked here for a long time.
I wish you the best of luck in your future life and when things looks dark, remember that you are the Genius Terran and a bonjwa, you have the strength to overcome any difficulties. You were an amazing player and will always be remembered and you are an inspiration to every Starcraft player out there.

good luck for the future and thanks for all that you have done. hopefully we'll see you back in esports after your military service, and continue to help grow the scene.
you will forever be a legend. LEE YOON YEOL FIGHTING! <3
Nada, you're an inspiration to people and progamers alike. You will never be forgotten. The Starcraft community will forever await your glorious return.
"I've never watched Brood War, but knew that person named NaDa is one of the best. When I saw You in SC2 I was happy I can watch player like You play. You. Are. NaDa!" -Ariion
You will always be a legend in the eyes of your fans, and in the community. No matter where your life takes you, know that you left behind a great legacy, and will be truly missed. NaDa fighting!
I remember first hearing about this guy called [red]nada that managed to beat the likes of boxer, back in early 2002 when I was just a wee little nerd. Just like the other pros you were a faceless player to me - a mysterious person that I only know by his gamer tag. It wouldn't be until the SC2 days when tag finally got a face too... Who would've thought that you would make it this far, that you would become such a well liked and respected person. Your a baller dude and if ever we should meet I'll be sure to buy you a beer!
As a gamer that's started back in 1998, I never knew much about progaming and spent all my time playing Use Map Settings games. One day, someone in a public channel said a person called NaDa was playing a person called BoxeR, and that NaDa was the #2 of the world and BoxeR #1. Even though I had never seen a professional game before, I was for the underdog, NaDa, whomever it was.
Years passed and I didn't hear anything about progaming until in 2006 someone told me about the sites of GosuGamers and Teamliquid. I came into contact with progaming and saw the games. I heard that NaDa was not even top5 anymore in the world. And then I watched you play Anytime in the OSL Finals. I will never forget the game on Tau Cross where after a lot of drop harass you finally pushed Anytime back and claimed the Golden Mouse. I cheered really hard for you, as I cheered for you through hard times and good times.
Lee Yoon Yeol, you will always be my favorite player. Thank you for the great memories. -Artanis
NaDa, it saddens me to see such a legend like troubled by these issues. Your influence has reached an international level and you will forever have our adoration and support. I wish you the best of luck with your future out of StarCraft.
You are one of my favorite players, NaDa. I am sad to hear that you are retiring. I hope for you to have an amazing future. Thank you for all of the memorable games you have given everyone. You will surely be missed in the eSports community.
I was following StarCraft proscene since 2002, and all these years NaDa was managing to show games that were a source of inspiration to me. I am really grateful for all the effort you put into playing the game all this time, and although I am quite saddened by sudden retirement, I hope you will achieve your dreams and will do the job that will be as fulfilling to you as were your games to me.
You are the best. Your story about your dad was so inspiring it was hard to fight back tears while reading it. I wish you all the best in the rest of your life, and hopefully, when you finish with the army you will return to esports.
NaDA thank you for being the greatest progamer of all time! You were one of my biggest inspirations during starcraft:broodwar. Thank you for showing great games and playing for a whole decade. You will be missed. You are Gosu! -ReachTheSky
It has been a great honour to follow you since your early days in BW. Thank you for everything, you have been a great inspiration and you will be missed! Good luck in your future endeavors - I wish you the best! Ghostcom
I remember starting to watch Starcraft: Brood War back in 2007, and I quickly discovered who you were through teamliquid fourms and old vods, since then I was a big fan of yours although it was hard to watch you play live games, but I watched you when I could. You were the main reason I was a WeMade Fox fan, I loved your playstyle, you inspired me to play terran. I remember watching your MSL matches vs Jangbi live, and the first game you played a perfect game of TvP and was so amazed at your play and I was never so excited watching a game before. It's sad that you cannot continue to play as a pro gamer and you will be greatly missed among the community, I feel more from those who followed you through Brood War, and we all will wish you luck in your future. Lee Yun Yeol Fighting! -FantacY
You will always be an inspiration for me and many others. Your sportsmanship, determination, and energy made you a famous player, and I know that they will make you happy with your future.
NaDa you are an inspiration to anyone wanting to become a proffessional gamer. Your achievements are legendary and what you've done will never be forgotten. I wish you the very best of luck in everything you choose to do.
Hey NaDa, you were one of those players who are simply legendary! I will never foget how many times I have watched your games in BW back in the good old days. You, BoxeR, Midas, iloveoov and XellOs were my heroes in BW. You played so fast, that I also wanted to become faster. Allthough I never got the same speed as you, you have inspired people to become better and better. It doesn't matter that you haven't achieved that much in SC2, you will still be one of our heroes! I wish you the best for your future and, who knows, maybe we will see you back in SC2 when HotS is released
Dear Nada, You are an inspiration to many progamers around the world. When you get back, we hope to see you in and around eSports in some form. Nada Fighting!
NaDa, You have been a source of inspiration. You have shown us that you are a talented genius and a hardworking mastermind capable of great things. Now you are also a living legend - to whom I wish godspeed.
Farewell Tornado Terran. It's a shame you're leaving us so soon when you had so much potential with Starcraft 2. Farewell and best luck to you in the future.
"Hey man, you did good for us. We appreciate your attitude and all that you brought to the game of starcraft. Because of you, many other people have come to play the game. So we say thank you. Griggy"
NaDa, you were one of the first progamers I watched when I was five or six. I remember the ups and downs in your long career. Win vs Anytime for Golden Mouse, lose after lose in MSL finals. I cheered you on for long long time, I will still cheer for you, in anything, in everything. NaDa fighting! Always support, always love <3 - X10A
Thank you very much for becoming a professional Starcraft Brood War and Starcraft 2 player. I appreciate all the games you have given to this community and will always be your fan!
I love you, NaDa! Thank you for all the memories. I remember staying up late to watch you years and years ago, and checking for your videos the morning after when I couldn't. Hope the best for you and that you do well from now on.
Nada, you are a proper legend. Even though SC was not my e-sport of choice until the later years of my gaming era you are one of the guys I truely respect, and I will always remember the Tornado Terran!
Thank you Nada for being such a shining example of hard work and determination for Starcraft players worldwide. Your passion and love for the game really inspired us all. I wish you the best in your future endeavors and hope you will return to eSports in the future, even if it's in some other capacity. -Yooncakes
I will never forget two things: your TvZ "How To" video from 2006 and your first broadcasted sc2 series against thelittleone. Watching you play back then gave me so much motivation and even made me consider becoming a progamer! thanks for making me the happy nerd i am
Nada, you have been an inspiration for a whole generation of gamers. Thank you for everything you have done, your determination, hard work and extreme talent have long been a role model for me. While you might be leaving starcraft (hopefully only temporarily), you can never leave our hearts and our minds. I wish you all the best and good health, because you deserve it.
NaDa, thank you for the countless lovely memories you've given us. I wish you the best in your future, and no matter where you go, I'll always be your fan ∩_∩! We'll miss you, GLHF ^_^
I played you once on ladder and we had a very close game where I ended up winning in the end (zerg op). I just wanted to say that playing you was probably the first point in my life where I felt like I could compete with the best players and I hope you come back after the military! Thank you for the great games!
Dear Nada: I have followed your career since your victory against Anytime[gm] back in 2006 where you won the Golden Mouse award. Ever since then you have been my favorite progamer. Your play style is unforgettable and outside of the game you seem like a very nice person to people you knew personally as well as your fans. It is very sad that you have to retire from gaming now and I will remember your time as a progamer in both Brood War and StarCraft 2. I hope that you will find the right path in life and that life treats you well.
Sadly I was not there to experience your reign in BW, but merely the stories of it are enough to put me in awe. Even though you never achieved the same level of success in SC2, I have always had, and always will, have so much respect for you.
You're a pretty cool guy, and I hope you find success and happiness in whatever future awaits you as one of the greatest professional gamers to ever live
Dear NaDa, Your series with LeenockfOu in GSL Open Season 2 is what truly got me into ESPORTS and is why I have experienced so much from Sc2, and why I have gone back to watch many past OSLs and important BW matches as well. Thank you for all you've done for the community and gl to you in the future, NaDa hwaiting! :D
NaDa, you are a legend even in America! We will never forget your great games, nor will we forget your warm relations with fans when you came here to play for us! Good luck in your life after gaming!
Hey Nada. I know that you are now aware of your fans outside Korea but I hope you always remember that your contribution to e-sports did not just touch Korea but the entire world as well. Hundreds, if not thousands, of fans from around the world stayed up late or woke up in the middle of the night to watch your games. Know that you inspired all of them.
We will always support you and have no doubt that a champion such as yourself will do well in whatever you want to do in the future.
I wasn't there when you dominated BW, but I was there then you started to compete in SC2. I admired you and had the deepest respect for your play and your past accomplishments. You will always be the legendary progamer NaDa. You will be missed.
When I was a kid and my friend showed me replays of 'Tornado Terran' you used the race in ways I could never have imagined and I was amazed. Thanks for playing great games again in sc2 and good luck in all your future endeavours! Remember that if you ever want to return to pro-gaming, there will be thousands of fans there to support you.
Dear Nada: One of the most disappointing things I've experienced in my time following Starcraft 2 was you not managing to get the title your play deserved. Good luck with whatever you choose to do with your life, I hope you return but if anyone deserves a break from gaming it is you!
It is sad to see you leaving the Starcraft scene. You have done so much for us and you will be truly be missed and will always be known as a legend. As sad as it is to see you go, everyone has to move on their life and do other things and meet new people. I would like to wish you the best of luck in any of your goals and future endeavours. You are an amazing starcraft player and person and will continue to do great no matter what you are doing!
"Back in the Brood War days I started playing Terran because of Slayers`Boxer` and I continued playing Terran up to now because of NaDa. You're a badass and I hope you bang many bitches to spread the seed of awesomeness in the world (unless you don't want to, I'm fine with that).
It seems like you were forced to quit pro gaming due to different personal issues. I'm writing this to say that you have my support forever.
The very first game of starcraft I ever saw was between you and 마재윤 in the finals of the 2007 ShinHan Bank OnGameNet Starleague Masters. After learning your story, your victory enraptured me and I continued to follow first you, then pro gaming to this day. I'm sure I am only one of thousands you have captured in your long and successful Brood War career.
I hope that when you look back at your pro gaming career, you don't view it as a wistful memory that could have been more. Instead, I hope you remember that the admiration/fans you made back then continued even when you were long gone from pro gaming. The name 이윤열 is and always will be one that commands immense respect not only to me but millions of people.
I wish you good luck in the next stage of your life.
NaDa, I never got to see your Brood War matches but you'll forever be the Genius Terran to me. You'll always be a legend and one of the greatest. Thank you for all of your great games and all that you did. Good luck.
"Dear NaDa, I have been a fan of yours since SC:BW. I wish I had got into the game sooner so I could have seen more of your plays and cheered you on, along with my other favorite, Jaedong. I had the pleasure of watching you play while I did my work at ICCup. I just want to say thank you for being such a great player and obiviously a great person. Also thank you for inspiring me to continue playing Starcraft, no matter how hard it was at points. You truly are a very inspiring person. I am sad to see you retire. I wanted to learn more from you and from your play style. However I wish you the best in everything you do. Thank you again for being an inspiration, oppa. NaDa Fighting~ NaDa 싸움!
Best regards, Lori 'Tesla' Slaughter"
I hope my Korean is ok and thank you so much for doing this. He truly was such an inspiration for me back then and still is one.
You are an inspiration to everyone in professional gaming with your discipline and consistent play. This mixed with your manner and personality (not mention being amazingly handsome) has made you a legend, and your legend will always be remembered.
Dear NaDa, you are a true inspiration to any gamers on the planet, you were my personal hero in BW, i hope you achieve your greatness in any other field you go in life.
"NaDa, you inspired me to play the Terran race when I played Brood War. Moreso than even BoxeR.
When I read today that you were retiring, I instantly had a terrible sinking feeling in my chest. I had never thought that I'd feel such a powerful emotion inspired by a professional gamer, but today I am very sad. In the beginning you inspired me how to play StarCraft. And in this ending, you've made me realize just how much this game means to me, as well as how much I've learned from it. We will all miss you so much. Thank you for getting me through some difficult times in my life. I hope that you will be able to find success in your future.
I wish I got into the Starcraft scene early enough to see your matches in Brood War live because you are one of the best Starcraft players to have graced the earth, and I want to have been able to see you play more. I wish you the best of luck in the future, and I hope you are successful in whatever you do in the future.
I remember watching you when I was 9 and you dominated Brood War. You and Boxer inspired me to play Terran in both Brood War and SC2. Your hard work and dedication to both Brood War and SC2 will never be forgotten. My heart sank when I read you were retiring, as I knew we were losing one of the greatest players to have ever played this game. Thank you for everything you have done for me and the community.
You were always a role model for me, and my favourite player for a long time. Whenever I see you I think of my home, starcraft. starcraft is my home, and you are a part of that. You have helped shape me into who I am today. Your spirit and skill and ethic are outstanding and they make me want to work harder in everything I do. I always wanted to be like you. I would play SC with my little brother and say "I'll be nada and you can be some stupidhead zerg! but it won't matter because i'm nada so i'll win!"
I was 8. That same year I almost got into a fight at school because someone called you stupid when I brought a picture of you to school to show for news with my (terran) starcraft box.
You are a huge part of who I have am, and you showed me how to be passionate.
You also help me love my dad. The way you loved yours.
You're my hero, and you will stay my hero until I join him in the sky.
Posted this in the other thread but I'd like to be sure he gets my support, so:
NaDa will be sorely missed. He's a legend to whom every single one of us is in debt; without the trailblazers like NaDa in the early days of esports, we wouldn't have the community we have now, the player base we have now, the sport that we have now. None of this would be possible without the early people who played when cash was as limited as global support was, players who in the early going said "esports is going to be big, and I'm going to make sure of it." The people with the dedication and steadfastness to take on something almost completely new...an unknown and unsure frontier.
Whether you know NaDa or not, to whatever extent you appreciate any of what the world of Starcraft is or esports in general, you owe him your appreciation along with all of those that were around in the formative years (of which we are still very much apart, I feel).
With all of that said, one of the great things about this sport is that this isn't really like football or basketball...you don't have to be a young guy to be great. For that reason, I hold out hope that in the years to come everything works out and we may yet see NaDa come back to the game he and his peers made possible.
Life has only still begun. You have so many more things to look forward to, to do, to accomplish. I wish you the best in your future goals and hope that you will succeed in your endeavors. Be proud, be glad, be strong. You will always be one to remember. Thanks for everything you have done, you have touched many lives. Gamsa hamnida. -EienShinwa
You have done so much for StarCraft the world over. I for one will never forget the impact you have had not only on the game, and the sport but on me. Your passion is unparallelled, and your dedication inspiring. Good luck with everything else you do in life.
NaDa, thank you so much for all the great games that you have shown us in both Brood War and StarCraft 2. Remember that no matter how far away you go, and what you attempt, the StarCraft community will always be behind you 100%. You are NaDa, an inspiration for us all.
I've admired you as a person and as a player for more than five years now. Whatever you choose to do in life from this moment on, I hope you do well! Fighting.
NaDa, I loved seeing you play in the GSL. You have inspired me to push my multitasking and my multitasking of my opponents to the limit. I wish you the best of luck. Live a long, happy, and prosperous life.
For many years I've loved watching you play. You've been one of my favorite progamers since I started watching Starcraft back in 2005. Your SK terran was always some of the best, and your Tornado terran style TvP was such a treat to watch. My heart sinks at the thought that I will never get to see you play again, but I wish you the best luck in your future endeavors. Nada Fighting Forever!!
이윤열 선수..... 그동안 너무도 감사했습니다...... 어디든 가든, 열심히 하실거라고 믿습니다! 이윤열 선수 화이팅!!!
Good bye NaDa! T-T..... You will be heavily/greatly/painfully missed...... Good luck in your future endeavors!!! Thank you for the amazing BW/SC2 years!
Nada, Lee Yoon Yeol hyung. You were my first progamer I've watched back in 2005. Since then I've probably watched over 98% of the vods. I felt happiness when you win, my heart wretched when you lose. In fact you were my inspiration, the reason I chose terran as my first and main race. Your SK terran style was simply an art, the style of your TvZ is why I have never tried to do mech in that matchup. Ever since you left BW and joined SC2 progaming I have stopped following and supporting you. I now deeply regret it. I have watched so many of your games that you have a special place in my heart. The retirement has left a hole in my heart that will never be refilled. I guess if you've so many games for so long of one particular person you will grow a connection and understanding of that player. Nonetheless if you feel that retiring is the right idea then I will feel that way too. Great luck in the future, you'll need it! This will be my first and possibly last "letter" to a progamer as by next year official brood war progaming will ceast to exist.
So again I'll good luck and thank you very much!! Nada Fighting!
Never forget the legacy you left on this game and the community. I will remember you and your accomplishments for as long as I live. You are one of my favorite progamers of all time. Do well in the future, we will miss you!
안녕하세요! I have loved watching you play from my home in Chicago for over 10 years, which accounts for nearly half of my life. Thank you for so many great nights of staying awake until past sunrise in anticipation of seeing the Tornado Terran in action. I switched from Zerg to Terran in Brood War and learned by emulating your builds and playstyle, and when it came time to learn Terran in SC2, I watched your stream religiously. Please understand that the distance from USA to Korea means nothing in regards to how much you have affected my life. Thank you so much for your years of passion for a game so many people love, and I wish you all the best of luck in your future. I hope to see 이윤열 in lights in one form or another in the future!
Thanks for being such an inspiration for me. Whenever I play Terran, I like to aim to be as good as your plays. :D I wish you luck on your future endeavors.
Thank you Nada, for what you have done for starcraft over the years. The e-sports industry would not be anywhere close to as successful as it is right now without your contribution. I hope that any endeavours you have will be successful be it within e sports or outside of it.
You've gone far beyond your call of duty in raising and inspiring the next generation of gamers
Thank you for all the fantastic games you have given us, thank you for shaping ESPORTS, for making it a more viable career, for proving others wrong by having faith in what we all have passion for, ESPORTS. Your sacrifices that you have made for this career will never be forgotten. Your passion for the game, not retiring after a dismal 2005 where you lost your father, and a year later you were able to seal the title as a legend by winning the golden mouse. Although Flash has somewhat succeeded you as being the best player of all time, you will always remain as the greatest player. (Believe me, there is a difference)
You will always be the Tornado Terran, the Genius Terran, the greatest example of breaking the starleague curse. I hope you continue following your dreams. We will never forget the legacy you have left to us and to ESPORTS in general.
Good luck in the future, I will miss you. We will miss you.
Saranghae, Wockets
P.S. Please continue working in ESPORTS afterwards, I would love to see another OldBoy series, this time based on you.
NaDa, I feel as though no words I say can express the amount of happiness that I felt staying up all night every time you were playing in GSL. In fact, I didn't miss a single game of yours in SC2 at all, and if I did I probably found VoDs and saw them anyway. Years ago when I knew nothing about competitive brood war, I stumbled upon videos of your play. Eventually, seeing you incredible skills exerted to their limits I decided that I needed to give it all and become a splendid gamer, crediting you for any success I might have of course
Good luck in whatever your heart tells you to do! JackaL
Dear [Red]Nada, my journey with your name begin with a game you playing boxer on some island map. I hated u that day. Why? Because u beat boxer with such an ease and i really hated that emperor is down. I hated your perfect playstyle for that time leaving no opportunities for other players. Then after some time I realized that I admire you so much. I even spoofed your name on some servers pretending to be you. Saw you once on wgtour ladder early games, you never replied on my message. I was lowest rank and asked you for game. I get it now why you didnt replay at the time. I once played some guy called sea.kukudas. I dont know was that you but I know it was your smurf over time. I had 110apm vs 350apm. I won zvt. That was the most glorius moment of my life. I told that to everyone, and was happy for all this years. I really want you to enjoy your life, and achieve something worth well for for your future and family. I grew with you and your games. I guess I needed this to fully grow to a man. Im having a tough time wanting to be a kid forever. I guess this will push both of us in one direction. All the best for your life my dear friend. Ante
Nada, I remember that you were the first person i ever saw playing videogames professionally, because I saw you, and Moon doing an apm demonstration for some movie. I'm sad that we have to see you retire, because I was a fan ever since I saw how fast you played. Stay strong, and maybe in a few years, we might hear you did something cool, or important. Goodbye!
There are 2 great player who inspired me to play StarCraft. One is the Emperor, Boxer, and another one is you. When my friend first introduce me StarCraft, i don't know anything about it, and he shows me a video where you played with Boxer. From that moment, i was shocked. I never knew StarCraft can be so interesting, from the unit control, to the mechanic of the game. The game showed both of you and Boxer micro and macro fantasticly and in the end, you win.
The impression left deep inside my mind and that's make me wanted to play StarCraft. Time passes and it's already 5 years since I first started. I am sad yet happy. It's sad to see you leave but happy because of you, I am able to know such interesting game. Really hoped to see you rejoin eSports in near future.
Nada, i will allways remember your game against boxer in the round of 8, gsl open season 2... As one who only got into sc2, It opened my eyes to the long history and legacy of broodwar, and ultimately widened my understanding of starcraft
"NaDa, I've watched and admired your play since your first GSL Open Season and you quickly became my favorite terran to watch. It was a dream come true when I had the opportunity to play against you on GSL Off the Record, and I hope you'll still be involved in eSports in some way. We all love you ♥
Nada, you're the man and always will be. I will remember you forever. You were the first to claim the epic title of 3 OSL winnings and I will never forget that.
Thanks for all the entertaining and inspiring games you gave us, you are truly an amazing person and player. I wish you the best of luck for your future, don't give up and keep going like you always have. Thanks for everything and good luck!
"NaDa, I hope you do well in everything you ever do. You inspire us all to work hard, and that's one of the many reasons that we love you. Thanks. PS: Take care of your body." -Wintex.
You were a source of inspiration for us and a figure of leadership and authority among the pros. Your words were always wise, deep, and so humble that you were the example to follow.
Although I'm a bit sad you left the eSport world for some years, that is totally understandable, and I wish you the best of luck for your current and future project.
Be happy wherever you might be; whatever you might be doing !
With everything going on in your life I understand and support your decision to retire, but retiring doesn't mean the end, just like you said. You will always have more friends, free drinks, and stories to share than you can count. Your fans are scattered all around the world, but they all group together for you. You have accomplished something that the UN still struggles to do, unify groups of people from all over the world for one purely good purpose, in this case, it is to cheer and support you. Know that in every city in the world you end up, there will be people who care about you, who support you. I know I always will as will everyone who has written these letters to you. Thank you for everything you have done. -Aaron
It saddens me that you have decided to retire from the world of gaming. Slayer_Boxer may have been the one that got me interested in Starcraft but you were the one that inspired me to play starcraft and eventually Terran. No matter what you choose to do in life, I would like you to know that you were one of the few that helped create starcraft to what it is today. You will always remain one of the best player in the history of starcraft and showed that the life of being a progamer is possible and is something that we can be proud of."
Lee Yun Yeol, i was lucky enough to meet you once in summer assembly 2011 and took picture with you and you signed my mousepad, for that i am forever grateful and will keep them as great memories forever, i have been a fan of yours for a long time so im sad to see you go, but goodbye! Have a good life and do well in the army!! - Joel Hirvelä ps i love you
You, Bisu, and Kingdom are my rolemodels for everything in this community. The talent, dedication, and execution you brought to the scene is something I will never forget. As I move forward in my Starcraft II career, whether it prospers or not, I will always have you to look at as an inspiration moving forward. I hope you continue to move forward in the same regard. Regardless of how you felt in Starcraft II, keep your head held high because you can walk away knowing that somewhere in this unbelievably infinite universe you accomplished things that will never be forgotten in the history of this world.
Your dedication and professionalism means that you will be successful in whatever you do in life. Know that you have inspired a great deal of people, and will always be remembered for that and so much more. Farewell, NaDa, you are truly one of the biggest pillars on which esports have been built.
Broodwar was the very first game I ever played, all the way back in 1999-2000. Seeing you play is what kept me into the game for years (and play terran). I thank you for the amazing games you've given us over the years, and hope that whatever happens to you, it is positive. Sincerely, plasmidghost P.S. If you haven't already, you should check out the Nada's Body thead. I know I have.
Despoite never having watched you in Brood War, I've heard of the amazing things you've done for the community and Starcraft. Best of luck to all that your future endeavors.
You have been an inspiration for everyone who's ever touched a keyboard. We love you and will always remember the greatness you brought to SCBW and SC2, and know that it was only a matter of time before your dominance in SC2 would earn you a championship. Good luck to everything in life, and best wishes to your family. Never forget that anything you do, you have hundreds of thousands of fans around the world who wish you success, and if you ever need anything we are here for you. Saranghae NaDa, greatest progamer of all time, and reason I got into competitive starcraft. ~Kazeyonoma
You were known as the Tornado Terrran for a reason, your play was genius. For a long time you were my favourite player, and I watched the clips of your games on youtube repeatadly. I only wish that you could have found more financial security inside this profession.
Thank you NaDa for being an ispiration to me and all other fans. I loved your outstanding playstyle and your personality, making me a big fan. I almost always watched your stream when it was online. I wish you best of luck in your future life and I hope to see you after your military service back in the scene as a coach, streamer etc. (seeing you back as a pro would be heaven but i dont believe it) Good luck!
" I missed most of your BW career, but instantly knew you would be my favorite SC2 Terran player when I began seeing your VODs. Seeing my favorite player Terran player retire makes me sad, but I will always have your fantastic games that you have played to watch. NaDA go on and live your life, but I will always hold a little light of hope that you might come back to SC2 or esports in the future.
I loved you as a pro gamer and you will be greatly missed. Your terran style was unique and entertaining to watch and myself and all your fans will miss you in the big tournaments greatly. Good luck in your future plans as well as your service in the SK Army . Thank you for your service in joint coillition with our U.S. Troops. What you have done was exceptional and brave and your sc2 fans will remember that.
Although i didn't watch much BW, i've heard you're one of the gods at it, and it definitely showed in your SC 2 play. In MLG Raleigh 2011, when you did the "I AM NADA" thing i got the sickest nerdchills i've ever gotten. You're a terrific Terran player, and seeing one of my favorite Terran's of all time retire makes me sad, but as you said "as one door closes another one opens!" Good Luck with whatever decision you choose, and i hope you achieve your dreams, whatever they may be! NADA FIGHTING!!!! :D
NaDa, At your prime, you truly were the Genius Terran. An unstoppable force of nature. You were (and still are) feared, loved and respected by everyone, both foe and friend. It was an honour watching you play Starcraft, both BW and SC2. Everything from your early dominance (the game with fOru immediately comes to mind) to your epic moment in front of the passionate MLG crowd ("I AM NADA!"). Well, you are right. You are NaDa. You are the Genius Terran, and you should never forget it, as I am sure your memories from progaming will stick with you, wherever your life may lead in the future. Thanks for everything man, and good luck have fun! ~
message: NaDa, you're truly an inspiration. Honestly, i thought you would win at least 2 GSLs but alas, you still did amazingly well. I'll surely miss seeing you play, and good luck with whatever you decide to do in the future.
nada, thank you for always providing great entertainment in brood war and starcraft 2. you are the reason i wish i got into the brood war scene sooner than i did. good luck in the army and stay safe.
Thank you so much for putting your heart and soul into all that is Starcraft. You have entertained us all for years and made a whole lot of fans become invested in you. You are an incredible inspiration. You. Are. Nada. Good luck with all your endeavours! I hope to see you in the future.
Dear Nada it is supremely saddening that you are leaving the Starcraft scene, After so many long years of watching you, and haveing you with us. It feels like you are an old friend, you've always been there, maybe not always in the centre of the group, but you were always there. And now that you are leaving you will be greatly missed. I hope you return to some form of eSports just so your here with us all again, we need you in our lives mate your a legend, an inspiration, a dear friend.
You are the single most amazing person ever. I might now know you in real life, but I still wish you the best from the bottom of my heart. No matter where you are in life, remember, Nada Hwaiting!
You've inspired me to follow my dreams, and have shown me that anyone can do whatever they want in life, I wish you the best of luck and thank you for being part of Esports history.
"NaDa, you got me interested in BroodWar and they were some of the best years of my life. I always looked forward to watching you play. You inspired me to be the best i can be not only in BW but in life. Thank you so much for all the memories. [ReD]NaDa fighting!!"
---no message-- so, one day without a message, I feel like bumping this back up just in case some people didn't see it and would want to write something... just in case ----------------------
"NaDa, i can't say anything new to you, everything has been said before, i'm really sorry that you have to retire, but with everything you have accomplished in e-sports, i'm really sure that your father is more than proud of you... Keep Fighting, cause we will keep supporting you... GL and GG... from the far away land of Chile, i salute you"
NaDa, thank you for the countless hours of entertainment you've provided us with, through you I discovered the magic of StarCraft and E-sports, you've been an endless source of inspiration to us all.
'NaDa I love your body. Please tell me how i can become like you, not just your manly figure. Please tell me how I can have the same skills, mentality, and drive to be one of the best. Even if you can't tell me, I want you to know that you are truly an inspiration to my life, and I wish I had the opportunity in life to have been there for your success. The impact that you have made on my life and on e-sports all over the world is absolutely dazzling and will continue to amaze all newcomers to e-sports. Great Games, Good Luck, and I hope to see you in the future'
"이윤열, you are an amazing player and one of the few Pros I've seen in T.V. I've known about you since 2007 in Real Story Progamer: Wemade Fox, how you guys had an in-house tournament with 박성균 and you in the finals (which became a remake of your official game) and your NaDa Teddy Bear signing! I wish I can say more but to make it short, 이윤열 화이팅!!!!!!"
NaDa, you were the reason I got into the SC scene so many years ago and the inspiration to play harder each day. Good luck in whatever you choose do in life. You are a one of a kind person and I bet that no matter what you do after esports, you will do it well. I love you!
...NaDa though i didn't follow your amazing run in Brood War because i was just a little child, i now am sad to see such an amazing player leave, i remember my first time seeing you was in the Razer Hack's Life Documentary in the APM demo. I was was stunned at how fast your fingers were and it inspired me to play like that in my games. Even though i am a Zerg player, You have inspired me to be a better player and dabble in a little bit of Terran. Overall you have been an amazing player and person tot he community and i hope you have tons of success in your future. i wish i could say more but i am trying to hold back the tears...anyways gg WP...and glhf...i wish i could have bought u dinner or something to show more gratitude but i guess this is all i ca really do in my current economic standing, well hope you go far in life...im not sure of what else i can say but if i remeber i will come back and rewrite it i hope to pla you sometime in the future but until then..GG NaDa FIGHTING <3
Hello my lovely TL-Members. First I want to say I am VERY touched by all of your letters! Thank you very much for your amazing support! I have already started the book and everyone from Page 1-8 is already in ^^
-- From NaDa -- Directly one day after we started this Project I talked to NaDa. Although he hasnt even seen one single letter, he is already VERY THANKFUL to all of you! He was very touched!!! I just wanted to let you know that as well ^^
Please continue with your awesomeness! You still have time until July 15th!
"Thank you for being who you are, an inspiring person who plays brilliantly. Don't ever let anyone tell you that you're not good enough, truth is you're far better than most of us ever can hope to be, as a person or a gamer. Don't let hard times get you down, keep your head up and be proud of who you are!
Thank you for pulling me into competitve Starcraft Broodwar! till this day today, i still remember the series you played against PJ(Blue_eyes which i think PJ's nick was) back in WGT, made me play TvP nonstop for several weeks instead of roaming around on UMS maps. Ever since then, i have allways cheered for you on your games, allways hated those who won against you.
(i know it is late, but i just happened to see this thread, and logged in for the first time in a long time)¨
So I heard you work out and have a pretty nice body. I think I saw a picture before but I can't find it anymore. I always search "Nada's body" on Google to find more. I want to see more pictures of your nice body, can you send me more?
It's sad to see you go. I sincerely hope you do something e-sport/Starcraft-related in the future - it doesn't end with pro-gaming! -Xpace

Uh sorry I posted the wrong Date X) Deadline is 15th of JULY ^^
NaDa, during the brood war days you've been 1 of the legends there. You've always been an inspiration for me for pro-gaming. After switching over to Starcraft 2 I always hope that you would shine and win a major tournament but maybe time just passes really fast and you need to go. It's really sad seeing you go, but nevertheless what you choose is for your own good! Good luck on your road to your next dream NaDa! I know that you will also shine outside of Starcraft! All the best wishes I can give!
I remember when i was about 16 years old and my biggest hero was Slayers_boxer. And you basically killed him and took over the throne as number one in the world. What started with resentment and dislike actually grew into something much more beautiful. Now a had two starcraft heroes in my life
"Nada you were in the first progame I ever saw, and you inspired me to play Broodwar and play Terran. You're truly a legendary player, I wish you all the best in your future, whatever you choose to do!" -Armathai
Dear Nada, i still remember your amazing games vs savior and i wished you would have reached what you deserve in sc2: nothing but gold! You're a true legend and i'd like to let you know just how much inspiration you gave me when i was a teenager and started playing and watching broodwar, staying up till late night just to watch your games. Much love from Germany.
Hey NaDa. First of all, thanks for inspiring me to play the manly race of Terran! Also i want to thank you for all the awesome games you have showed us throughout the years. It is sad to see you go, i wish you the best!
First thing, thank you so much Furaha for doing this, really appreciate this ___________________________________________________________________ Nada, always remember that your fans are always going to support you and await you return :D I hope for the best for you regardless of the path you choose and pray that you succeed in everything you do. <3
"Oh man, oh man, I will not forget you, your body and your games. Thank you for the entertainment and excitement you brought with your games in broodwar and sc2. I won't forget you as long as the videos of you playing games roams on the internet. Do whatever you need to do from here on in life, even though I would love to see involved somehow in e-sports in the future, coaching, casting, etc. From here on out, good luck and have fun♥!" - Love from Sweden, MosteN.
Writing something complex and long, I feel, would be lost in translation, sadly.
"NaDa, you were the first player I watched in the GSL, and got me in to Starcraft. You inspire all of us to play Starcraft, and to succeed in our lives. I hope life is good for you, tornado terran fighting!"
Dear Lee Yun Yeol, I just wanted to say that if noot for you in 2004 I would have never started into E-sports at all. That you are one of the best minds in RTS-gaming is obvious. But that you have such a beautiful, caring personality and never back down in the face of adversity is something that hat will stay with me for the rest of my life. Rest assured, Tornado Terran, I will always remember you. Thats all. Hwaiting!! -SushilS
Dear Lee Yun Yeol, Nada, I thank you for becoming a pro gamer in Starcraft. You have been one of the most dominant and consistant players of Starcraft Broodwar. You have always held an incredibly high class in Broodwar, and what is special about you; is that you have never fallen into a slump and that you never give up. Your dropship play and TvZ among others, has been a true inspiration and your play has greatly impacted the play style of terran and very many players around the world.
I thank you further for having been a professional gamer for such a long time. You have stayed through all these years and are one of the most influencial persons in the scene of Starcraft Broodwar.
Thanks for all the entertainment throughout the years NaDa. It's a sad time to see you go, I wish you the best of luck in your future career. -LgNkarmy
You may leave starcraft, but the hearts of every starcraft fan will never leave you. Aslong as people play starcraft, your memory and accomplishments will never die. Thanks for everything. You are NaDa.
To me, you have been one of the greatest inspirations I've ever experienced. Whenever I was feeling down or sad, I'd often turn to watch your games. The amount of dedication and sacrifise you've made to pursue your dream, is something I think of everyday, not only when it comes to gaming, but in everyday life as well. Thank you, for helping, and being a part of my younger years.
Yoon Yeol, Players like Lim Yo Hwan got me interested in StarCraft, but it was you that made me fall in love with it. The story of your career is an inspiration to anyone, whether you're a player or not. Evidence that if anyone wants something bad enough then they can achieve it. If there was ever a movie about a programer, without doubt I would want it to be about you.
It's very sad that you're retiring as a player but I feel blessed that I got to see you play at least once live. NaDa vs Top, 3rd May 2011 at the GSL studio, in my first ever live StarCraft 2 match. I'll always remember that day. NaDa hwaiting!
The first professional SC1 game I ever saw was one of yours, it was my introduction to the esports world and led to my love of esports in SC1, Warcraft 3 and now SC2. So to you, I say a massive thanks for introducing me to this world which has become such a big part of my life. Good luck with everything you do in the future.
nada, you have inspired me so much. in these days when bw is nearly gone I think back nostalgically to your games that made so many intense memories.
when i think back on my youth i remember how you taught me perseverance how to harness emotions to be true and honest and determined to not give up when things are tough to prove to the world that you are still standing that you can still live and so much more.
even though its over even though they are all just memories...
Nada, you are the most inspiring player that I have ever followed, the way that you were able to overcome the sadness of your fathers death, and still produce amazing games, hope to meet you one day. Nada Fighting
Nada, you were the guy that no matter who was playing I wanted you to win :D You always seemed so polite and put a lot of effort in your games. I hope we will get to see you again, and I wish you the best in the future
Throw yourself into everything you do, and live with no regrets. Goodbye and good luck. Hope to see you around, and remember that legends never die. <3
You got me really hooked into esports when I saw you play against 전태규. You were always an impressive player to watch, I hope everything goes well for you.
Along with SlayerS_`BoxeR`, you hook me with the competitive Starcraft BW and SC2 scene when I saw your pimpest plays from several years ago on a youtube video! I would like to thank you for all the years of entertainement, excitement, professionalism and honesty inside and outside your play. I am very grateful that you dedicated your heart and soul for this game. I have always wanted to play like you, but i guess that's impossible because i am not as handsome as you are ! I wish you luck in whatever path you choose to go as you begin a new chapter in your life. NaDa hwaiiiiting!!
Even though i didn't follow the BW scene as much, i still know the person which played Starcraft Brood War and Starcraft 2, its a person whom i really admire and want to become like in the future, at least in 1%, Thank you for all the great games and being a person that people want to become like. Thank you ! - Jadepop
True legends like you will never be forgotten.. No matter where your life leads you, please know that there are people all around the world who will always remember Nada and the amazing games you gave us in both SC1 and SC2.
Nada, for someone who came into E-sport past your prime looking at your achievements in broodwar has been like reading history book about a chineese dynasty, vast and unknown to many. To see you doing as well in sc2 and the late years of your BW career was inspirational to me, stay strong!
NaDa, I was always inspired by your willingness to go beyond and improve past where your current state is. I still remember your intense presence as you shouted "I AM NADA," and that image will be forever forged within my mind. I hope everyone takes your intense dedication to heart and utilizes that same dedication in their every day work, because that sort of dedication is what champions are made of.
I will not accept anything anymore ^^ Thanks again for all your hard work! You know I already told you that NaDa is so happy although he didnt even see one single message As soon as there are any News, I'll inform you asap ^___^
Today I have completly finished our Book. It is printed and everyone got his/her letter into the book. I will contact Nada these days and will tell him that he'll receive our book soon. Until now he is still very deeply touched and very grateful!
