In my mind, there are two types of the top tier Code S players now.

The Old Elite: MVP, Nestea, MC.
MVP and Nestea: Give them good condition, they play rediculously well. No matter how bad they've been playing recently, no one wants to face them. Nestea only seems to lose off of decision making, never really Build order losses. MVP seems to win by having the best build orders and can only be beaten by great decision making and not falling for the mental traps. The major thing about them is that I'd never count them out ever ever. But at low points in their careers, I'd never vehemently count them in.

MC is just the agressive protoss.. something about that is too much for people to handle. Yet he certainly is no longer as potent, and his longer games just aren't THAT good.

The Talent Overwhelming: Marineking, MMA, Parting, Squirtle, Dongraegu

Marineking/parting: It's almost like they have a different laws of metagame applied to their matchups because their micro is so good. Sheer force of will and confidence wins their games. However, they can be mentally broken down and from there are the insta-losers.

MMA/Dongraegu: Heart of a champion. They play with confidence, yet not over confidence. They decide, they execute. They have good game knowledge and cheese when it seems right. They also win games by sheer force of will, but they don't have as much of an ego.

Squirtle: If parting and MC had a baby, this is him. He uses timing pushes that are very good against the current metagame, but also is capable of playing really safe with good decision making(MC lacks here a bit). His ego cannot be crushed. Whereas parting looks like god when he wins his games, squirtle just looks like he played well and won. Almost the whitera of the newcomers, he just wins for some god damn reason.

Special Mention: Leenock, Alive, Hero. Don't make the cut in my mind.

My prediction
MVP will win sets. He is too good at planning to not do that. But squirtle is a champ. He'll just keep going, and he has better micro, decision making, and current state of PvT on his side. for this reason I'd give it a 4-2 with Squirtle winning. MVP just doesn't quite have the micro to back up the multitask...

I never EVER understood why people put Mvp next to Nestea...not even on the same level. Ever.

you're saying MVP is lacking mechanics? go watch MVP's pov from his stream. You're talking about a guy who would rip apart any of those players in BW (the game that relies heavily on mechanics).

Are you implying that Mvp better or worse then Nestea? Nestea did win GSL by NEVER dropping a game.

I've never seen NesTea play consistent or win anything at all since SC2 actually developed into a strategy game

He doesn't have the micro right now because his wrists are detonating. And even so he still splits marines really, really well. Once he sorts his wrists out, he's as mechanically sound as MMA or DRG. Combine that with his awesome decision making and clever build orders, and he's a champion. I can't see him losing in best possible shape.

Nestea's prime was mostly punctuated by his excellent decision making, perfect macro and ability to hold of early aggression and force a long game. These days it seems his decision making seems to be his real issue, along with fatigue in certain foreign tournaments. He's said himself that his mind seems to fog over in the mid-late game. I don't really know how he can sort that out. :/

Everything else seems pretty much spot on. I don't know what to say about Squirtle because I didn't see his games last night, and I missed most of IPL4. Hopefully MVP and Squirtle bring an entertaining series at least, though I do expect it to be short.
Long live the King of Wings
