I love the Losira-cat art at the end. And I can't wait to see the finals even though the prediction is to be extremely one sided.
Yeah the only other time I'd heard of Jjakji before this GSL was from looking at the SC2 KOR ranks on the right toolbar, last month or before he was in like second I think. I guess this verifies that placement
Jjakji 4 - 2 :D
btw awesome art :D
More cheeks more skills, Leenock fighting!
hoping for an great finals, we had too many lopsided finals, even though great games were played in the series.
I get the feeling fishuu is hoarding losira pictures for when he inevitably comes back to a code s finals! They are definately the highlight of any gsl preview article!
Great article!
LEENOCK FTW...most entertaining is SO true
....until maybe nestea gets back to his old 'genius'...if he gets back to it
Great writeup and awesome artwork!
Great writeup as always. But I really cant see Jjakji taking this, especially with Leenock's ZvT
Great writeup but I am really looking forward to some leenock smashing!!!
yeeee I wouldn't be suprised if jjakji won
Wow. I would read the writeup but i cant stop looking at the artwork.
Good writeup, I think Jjakji is indeed a solid player, and we will be seeing more of him in the future. But this is Leenock's GSL to lose.
no protoss in the final? uninterested?
Great write up as usual. Fishuu you got to start making desktops.
Fishuu, I don't even know what to say anymore.
Go Leenock!!! For the Swarm!
Oh, and sick writeup by Fionn, and equally awesome art by Fishuu. you guys are awesome!
I think the addition of Fishuu's art is my favorite thing about these write-ups. It's so great.
awesome write-up. love the chat between the friends the most. lol. :D
Leenock 4-2. Really excited to see both Jjakji's creativity and Leenock's insanely strong standard play.
Best article of the month. ( Including November ) Brilliant work Fionn and Whatthefat.
And <3 Fishuu's drawings as always.
Fion saying Jjakji would win = Jjakji losing
All my eggs are in the Jjakji basket. I liked him in GSTL, I've liked him all season, I think Leenock is amazing, but Jjakji could win this just as much as Leenock
<Blown by teh artwork props to that, reading it now.
Last season, with MMA versus MVP, MMA learned his lesson from his first final and came in with the more thought out builds, caught MVP off guard (=can't win fair games), and won four games to one. Hmm, this article is pretty well written, has nice artwork, and the oh so subtle MMA bash... Definitely Fionn.
I wouldn't be surprised if Jjakji won, but as MogSkynet pointed out, it's Leenock's to lose. After all, Jjakji reminds me a little of Leenock in Open Season 2... but yet to have his big match in a group death... and yet to overcome some terrible luck. Leenock, on the other hand, is at the stage where luck no longer matters.
Loved the articles though!
I saw some awesome matches from Jjakji in Korean weekly, so it's not a shock that he went all the way to the finals, however it's still a surprise.
Yeah really great write up. So true about Jjakji, so overlooked through the tournament and has only really played truely excellently in the round of 8, but should be a great finals

Well, it is true. The first two games against MVP were perfectly planned and took him out of his comfort zone.
I'm really looking forward to this finals. It's really nice to have some new blood, last time NesTea or MVP didn't get into the finals was during the super tournament. I really hope Jjajki can win this, been a fan of his play since I first saw him.
4-2 to Jjakji!!! FIGHTING!!
<3 Fishuu, pictures amazing as always <3
So hoping for Leenock to become a regular home-grown champion for SC2, a pro who didn't fail at BW to succeed at SC2, so that SC2 can begin it's own saga of heroes.
Leenocktipus will roll. I hope it isn't a totally onesided 4-0, but Leenock is so damn good I don't think JJakji has a chance tbh
awesome. strange that the first writer kept capitalizing 'World' though.

aww you mad MVP lost bro?
MMA just abused MVP's super cautious playstyle by going super aggressive, maybe MVP should do something like that sometime instead of always playing safe.

...I'm not bashing MMA. What MMA did is what he should have done...He came in with prepared builds, executed them perfectly, and took two quick games from MVP. That's what a smart player does.
Fishuu I hope you get paid to draw as a living cuz your stuff is amazing.
Not a tvt, can't wait!
This will be the most exciting GSL finals to date. Leeeeeeenock!
I think this is going to be another "GSL final"...
Great write-up and amazing artwork!
God damn that Losira cat.Every time I see I turn into cotton candy.
Great write-up and awesome art :O
Fishuu's art's always so amazing. I always love these GSL hype articles. Thanks everyone.
Just HAD to throw in Losira didn't you?

Lol must be funny hearing "HuK and MMA are in the top 3 players in the world" and then "man, I know starcraft". Not that HuK isn't good, but top 3 is blind fanboyism (and MMA still has weak TvP holding him back). Great preview, both players can win, should be a good final
Leenockulars will spy on Jjakji the whole game with his Leenockulars and it will be Leenock 4-2
I rarely stay up to watch the GSL live, but this will definitely be one of those nights!
I'm cheering for Jjakji but i predict 4-1 leenock You can do it Jjakji! Defend us from the swarm!
Go LEENOOCCKKKKKKK <3 for the swarm
My Brain says Leenock But My Heart says Jjakji
This is one final that (i hope) will live up to the hype!
Prediction: Leenock 4-1, or Jjakji 4-3 - Good luck to you both
That artwork makes me think Digimon vs. Pokemon. Guess which is which.
Loving the art. I can't help but notice Leenock is riding a baneling though; is this a premonition of an explosive final?
either win is going to be huge for each team, but i think everyone is thinking leenock is going to take it
Leenock 4-1 or 4-2, because he said he would let jjakji win a few to keep it interesting.
i dont see Jjakji winning vs Leenock. But maybe he can suprise him and us^^
Great Art - I like those back/feet perspectives. Hope Jjakji surprises again!
Im excited, hope Leenock takes it
great write up

Why? He's the most successful sc2 player as of yet for a reason. A super safe style is the reason he almost always makes it deep into the tournament and it will only become better as the game evolves.
I totally forgot that it was Jjakji in that game against superNova. Talk about being on the brink of elimination.
that art is awesome; and great write up.
jjakji gonna stomp leenock
Oh my god these fishuu drawings are so good. I love the Losira baneling-cat ;D
It's either going to be a 4-0 or a 4-3
Leenock is the favorite but I hope JJAKJI does well :D
Awesome artwork. And while I would want Leenock to win, he's so young at only being 16. He has plenty of time in his esports career to win many tournaments. I want Jjakji to do the underdog story and lose 3 in a row before going 4 wins in a row in a miracle to take GSL November.
Fionn keeps getting stuck with (choosing?) the task of hyping up the underdogs, usually with predictably bad results. I hope for his sake that one of these times it works out better.
Not this time, though. Leenock 4-1
Nice read, can't wait for finals tonight =)
You guys really outdid yourselves with this writeup - I'm pumped! :D
I really love the artworks as well!
Go jjakji! Make it a finale Ill remember for some time.
nice preview and good luck to both players.
Jjakji showed some AMAZING TvP, the most creative, while staying efficient, builds since the new patch. It makes me think he has his hand on the pulse of the current meta-game (or maybe future) and I hope to see something amazing from his TvZ. He hasn't had a single opportunity the entire GSL season to show us any of it.
ok that Loira baneling pic got me
It's a TvZ.
It takes a zerg with much more skill to beat a terran and i believe leenock has that skill if the terran doesn't do some unscoutable bs cheese.
Then leenock wins. BUTTTTT terran has a unit called the ghost so we'll see.
Great write up, hoping to see some great games tonight.
Gogo Jjakji so I can be the only one who got this liquibet correct!
Jjakji hwaiting! We haven't had a terran win a tournament in quite some time, gogo Jjakji!
getting less hyped about the finals every month
Gogo Jjakji! 4-0 incoming
I have read every GSL finals preview, and this is easily the one which has me most excited (I was excited for MKP vs Nestea but that was because I was in full MKP fanboy mode moreso than the preview doing anything)
Love the art, love the hype, amazing write up! BRING IT ON :D
Don't care who wins, just hoping for a decent final.
God, those pictures are SO good. Almost too good, Fishuu, you're drawings are so good! Oh, and the write up was pretty good hehe.
Leenock 4-0. Cant see it any other way
sry leenok is just too good
Leenock is simply too cute to lose.
I really love those preview topics. Lot of work going into those, I guess. Keep it up
I've been watching Leenock with excitement and bright hopes for so long now, months on months. Despite him trashing some of my favourites, I'm so happy to see him emerging as the star I hoped he was.
He will probably have $100k at the age of 16 or 17! Lucky bastard! :D
Awesome write up for Jjakji. I'm glad I'm not the only person who realizes the awesome creativity and innovation in his play. He reminds me of Boxer during his heyday. Here's to 3 bunker rushes in a row!
Haha I'm loving these fishuu drawings :D
Excellent write up. Leenock has a tough opponent in Jjakji. I hope (and believe) that this is wont be a walkover.
These drawings are awesome.
I've long thought Jjakji is the next wave. I don't think he'll be able to beat Leenock, but he'll be around from now on.

<3 Fishuu Art, makes everything better. ^.^
The only way that Jjakji can win is by cheesing. Sorry Jjakji fans but Leenocks zvt is way better than Jjakji's.
Nice preview <3 I didn't realized how Jjakji's run was influenced by outside events (Coca, MLG...) The artwork is more and more incredible.
Better watch it Fionn, this is how you became the dedicated defender of Polt. I can't help but think Leenock is gonna MMA it and lose while favored. Even worse, I'm pulling for Leenock too, which may just hurt his chances. Ultimately, I'd be happy for either player winning. It just doesn't feel as grand a finals without Mvp or Nestea taking all challengers, but we'd better get used to the idea. The others are catching up.
I love the pictures as all of the previous ones.
Wait... Leenoctobaneling? Where's Leenoctopus?
EDIT: Nevermind. I found the Leenoctopus!
Looking at Jjakji's run to the final, I think it will be a 4-1 or 4-0 for leenock :/
Just gotta say, that art is amazing. Fishuu continues to blow me away.
"...like a still full can of Coke."
And then I stopped reading.
You can really tell your friend knows alot about starcraft, when he consideres huk top3 on this planet. Good going buddy -.-
Jjakji is very good versus Zerg, so I think (and hope) this will be a very close series. Could be very entertaining. I certainly do not expect this to be an easy win for Leenock.
I think Fionn secretly wants leenock to win so following his own curse he is throwing in with jjakji to help leenock out
Awesome artwork as usual. However, if Leenock makes Hydralisks as depicted Jjakji will win.
Damn, when was the last time somebody mentioned "Hydralisk" in an SC2 thread?
Not seen a GSL finals in a while.
Going there today. Pictures will be taken and uploaded.
Let's go Leenock!

I really hope this is the first amazing GSL finals, I think it definitely has the makings to be one. Leenock is gonna wreck face though :D also AMAZING art Fishuu, I love it
Im predicting a 4-0 finals. Jjakji > Leenock
NSHoSeo fighting!
Jjakji 4-1, and after at least one of the games, 15 people from the livethread will have to be banned after having a ghost-imba meltdown .
Leenock writeup was sooo good.
haha uninformed noob friend is correct, funnily enough.
Leenock beat the best terrans in the world many times in the past couple months (Mvp x2, MMA, Ganzi, Polt, Boxer)
and jjakhi's last two games vs zerg were losses from guess who? Leenock.

And now you're just showing ignorance in regards to Jjakji's skill. Leenock is the favorite sure, but this is not Nestea vs Inca or MVP vs MKP.
Jjakji/Jjikjak ...it's just to complicated - he should rename to a easier name like MuleKingPrime or something like that
a GSL final that isn't TVT im SUPER EXCITED!!!!! GSL FIGHTING!!!!
I think Leenock can do it and I hope he will.
He was amazing during the bracket and he managed to reach a higher and higher level of play.
He proves that he can compete with the better Zerg, who are Nestea and July, to be the next God of Zerg.
GG HF Leenock!
Articles like this is why no one will be able to usurp Team Liquid's authority on Starcraft.
Leenock is playing very well right now, but he has been playing a lot of tournament games while Jjakji has had time to prepare some surprises like he did for Puzzle. I think it is going to be closer than people think. Jjakji may not be too well known right now, but what I have seen from him has been impressive.
Even though I think this, my gut is telling me that Leenock is the better player here and will pull it out. I would have to say either 4-2 with Leenock winning or 4-3 with the result going either way(It really depends on if Jajakji is able to get in Leenock's head like he did with Puzzle).
This is the first GSL finals that I am staying up for, so I hope it there are some good games :D
This is why I hate people who go "LOL THE BETTER PLAYER WON" , no, no they didn't.
A cheese can beat any good player, even the best.
Australia has won iceskating in the olympics, do you know how? First in the playoffs all 4 in the lead crash and Australia wins it. In the finals, australia is behind the top 4 by more than 1 lap, all 4 crash togheter, Australia goes into the goal laughing. Does this make australia the world champion of iceskating? No it fucking does not. Neither does stupid all-ins or half-allin timing attacks make for the better player and we have abhorrent GSL finals to show for it.
Great article, sums up my thoughts quite good. Gogo Leenock I've been routing for him ever since I saw his play in Code A, guy has that gosu spark that NesTea has where it's a mix of the White-Ra/BoxeR innovation coupled with amazing basics and mechanics.

[Haha! You thought Fionn wouldn't mention him, didn't you?] This made me laugh. In all seriousness, Jjakji's going to get stomped, it'll be a bad final as always.
wow that top banner was really well made
1. "I know starcraft" 2. Sais Huk is top 3 in the world 3. ??? 4. I lol'd
Can't help but agree, the Gsl Finals curse will probably continue with yet another boring 4-0 victory. Can't see Leenock losing this in any way really.
Gonna stay up and watch the finals obv. Hoping they'll be at least somewhat competitive. No indication of that from Leenock's recent play.
Congratulations Fionn, somehow you made this one-sided lineup look interesting. Amazing work as usual.
Leenock 4-1. He is so much better.
awesome articles as always! Thanks TL! totally hyped to see the finals gogo leenock !! We are the swarm!!
time to bring out the pop and chips and icecream :D
Only 9 pages srsly? Anyways Jjakji playing fuckin amazing and is way ahead.
That first game......I don't know if I can even think of a game that was better than that single game.
And there goes my hope of winning the points in liquibet LOL!
jjajki looks more prepared for the maps right now , lets see if Leenock makes his mind and starts playing at the level he needs to.
Jjakji has been showing brilliance in builds all season long. Boxer-esk builds. First time he is getting chance to show his TvZ and he is not disappointing,

They call me the 1%. I realised last week picking the "the favorites" all the time isn't going to gain you any position in liquibet, I took Jjakji and i gained almost 250 liquibet rank, top 200 now :D
Here's your screencap + Show Spoiler +

Myself: His name is Jjakji.
Friend of Fionn: Jakjii?
Myself: No, his name is Jjakji.
Friend of Fionn: Who cares? Leenock is five thousand times better. Jakju or whatever his name is wasn't impressive when I saw him on the VOD's. Leenock and MVP was the true final, man. This is going to be 4-0 definitely.
Myself: So you honestly think that Jjakji has no chance against Leenock? It is both their first GSL final.
Friend of Fionn: Dude, listen to me, I know Starcraft. Jakji is going to lose 4-0. Leenock is the future. If Jakji wins, I'll buy you dinner for a month. It's not gonna happen, man. Did you freaking see Leenock against MVP and Huk? Come on!
wow 1 month of free dinner for a month .. NICE!!

This article was very good! I especially liked the write-up on jjakji, as I knew next to nothing about him.

Myself: His name is Jjakji.

+ Show Spoiler +That dinner's gonna taste extra-good.
...Oh, it's for a week? How about you call us all for dinner and your friend pays? PLEEEEEEEEASE

I don't mean to offend anyone but all the jakjy hype seems kinda bs :/ Leenok is not Neastea or MVP but Jakjy is not Inca or TOP I do not see where you see him as being good mechanically, i saw him floating way to much constantly in all his games and the only box he won it was vs Oz where it was really close and it was TvP a matchup that still has T has favorite in in TLPD and important match wins even after the patch AND he basically won cuz Oz let him and cuz he got some lucky bo. I know you guys are trying to hype the final but thinking about it being more then 4-2 with the 2 games being won by cheesing/Leenok letting helions in his mieral line due to him being stressed and not playing his best.
Also <3 the artwork

That guy better pay up on the dinner for a month! Honestly I was somewhat with him, but I predicted Leenock 4-2 not 4-0... I knew Jjakji was really really good, but I didn't realize his macro was THAT beastly!

Awesome graphics. Leenock fighting!

+ Show Spoiler +Holy shit, that was not good for my heart.
Props to jacuzzi, or however you spell it. Even bigger props to Fionn.
Fionn, so is your friends truly going to buy dinners for you for a month? Make sure he did that, and make sure he remembers, it's Jjakji, not Jikaji.

Hopefully this teaches your friend a lesson. Don't underestimate GSL players, and watch the GSL above all else.

Friend of Fionn is going to be ruined huhu :o

Fionn, congrats for free dinner for a month!

Amazingly written, thank you ♥

Looks like Fionn scored free dinner for a month.

Well, now we know Jjakji is actually above all other terrans. I haven't seen MVP have anywhere near amazing control.

One GSL win = / = greatest terran in the world. In case you didn't notice, Jjakji DID play Mvp this GSL, and Mvp CRUSHED him.

Free dinner for a month. Jjakji played so good. Insane.

Jjaki using marines for scouting baneling mines was simply genius and I've never seen that used before. That's some quick thinking on his feet. I wish Leenock took it as I was cheering for him from the zerg biased side, but he just got outplayed on many areas. None-the-less, his play was still unbelievably phenomenal and way more exciting than most of the zergs out there. I think these were some of the best finals games I've ever seen!
leenock honestly didn't deserve to be on that stage, MVP vs JJakji would have been actually interesting to watch. Oh well, looks like the finals will always be one sided as fuck

What lol, not only was it a really good series, it was not one sided. Leenock almost brought it to a game 7 but made a few mistakes that ended up costing him the game on calm before the storm.
You should probably watch the games before making posts like these ^^

Leenock barely got outplayed you mean.
Leenock nearly won the first game despite not discovering the hidden expansion until way too late and blowing up like fifteen banelings by mistake. (That was so sad)

the first time i saw it was at the first sc2 IEM tournament. I believe it was the semifinals where morrow did this vs dimaga on blistering sands (I hope I remember this right). This was one of the best games of that time (was still during the beta as I recall) and it was the last game where morrow did his standard marine tank play in this tournament before he switched it with the 5rax reapers opening and beat dimaga in that series and ultimately even idra.

It would be nice if the article included details on when the finals are airing. More details please!
its hard for me to be excited, gsl finals have always been boring
i feel leenock does not have a good early game. We can see that from the previous up and down matches where i believe he lost 2 times vs MarineKing due to like early timing push. Sometimes zerg just have to not make that many drones honestly... This game is still evolving so I think this will change...and zerg keeps losing that first overlord, that is horrible, just dont send the overlord to those locations, if you want to scout then get more info sacrificing it...

Did you actually get dinner for a month?? :D
