as far as i know qxc was pretty inactive anyway lately. gl to him

He's in his final year at one of the most demanding colleges in the U.S. I'm amazed that he's been able to remain as active as he has since September. My personal prediction is that he'll start doing very well once he graduates (in May) and has a month or two to practice intensively.

I am wondering how the Korean team train with the non-korean teams? Comunication problems (im aware some players can speak korean but raised there?)

FXO had big plans and it seemed like they were going to have a decent lineup. Earlier this year when someone left a team it used to be "i bet they're joining FXO!" but know FXO seemed to have given up on the foreign scene

Not really. I am still punching money into the Malaysian scene, and ultimately south east asia. I have lan events here in KL to warm up for our international events to be held here to get logistics and finances right.
Its just that i had my little sick spell which flat lined everything. And I still have my ins and outs of sickness but its getting better.

Also after alot of trial and error, I have realised what i expect from an investment in e-sports and go on those rules. And e-sports is developed enough now to not require 'charity' investment.

Our KR team is actively requiring. We have tear and 2 other new members recently who are being trained up. On a model designed by the KR scene and adjustments by FXO, which is proving to be working. It was very difficult to get foreigners to comply with this model. It might not be for everyone, but its proven to work so its what we use. So we will look for players who can be involved in that model.

Fxopen has the right idea, and clearly its working.
But more importantly, more serious training models are going to become even more of an necessity, since BW players are entering the SC2 scene this coming year... Ironically more and more SC2 players now complain about teamhouses and wish to practice conveniently from their home, when the BW pro houses are known for no BS and grueling training regimen.
Guys like forgg are quickly approaching mvp levels even though seemingly lax in training until qualifying for GSL...BW pros shifting to SC2 who are still situated in pro bw houses will be scary indeed.

Forgg has been playing alot of SC2 for a full year according to Jinro. He is good, but I still tink that mvp looks alot better over all. I dont think forgg should be used as an example of why BW pro's are so much better (he has played for a year guys, think about it, and how many games has he shown against the best players in the world?). The whole elephant in the room argument is bullshit actually. Mediocre WC3 players like Naniwa would never be able to compete with the best if that argument was true.

FXO is doing something right. They have a ton of good players. But I think they would reach the top in a short time if they tried to use the full potential of a teamhouse like Slayers (from what I have read they are the only team that tries to solve differents problems/aspects of the metagame as a team.... they gather and discuss issues properly). With young talent like Leenock, they can easily become THE team if they do it right.

But until we get full BW teams over, or korean teams that actually adopt the true BW team model (Like Slayers. Remember that they became the over all strongest sc2 team very fast, and they started out with no names), I still think we will see players like Stephano owning everyone, even though he only practices 4-6 hours a day (alone). The current korean sc2 team house model is flawed for most teams. Yes, people get more motivated to play more if everyone around them plays... but the true potential for a team house is so much more.

Since the koreans have been at the forefront of mechanics from the start. We have often seen foreigners overcome it with strategy. So I hoped that western team houses actually would try a western model and focus on strategy. Work together to overcome metagame problems and stay ahead of the curve... ofcourse a terran, zerg or toss would dislike to work out strats that would break the current metagame for their race if they worked alone... but as a team you can try to stay ahead of the curve. Really focus strategy. But when I hear things from EG's teamhouse like: IdrA and Demuslim doesnt practice alot together since they have the potential to get matched up against each other in a tournament (Yo incontrol, as the leader/captain, you shouldnt let players get away with shitty attitude like that. Force them to play and help each other with weaknesses in their play)

Anyways. I understand why FXO parted with QXC. They have a working team model. And I am sure they have no problems picking up foreigners as long as they will comply with that model. The only gripe I have with FXO now is that they have lost so much personality after they became a korean team. I thought a team like FXO that started out with players with a lot of personality would be better at marketing themselves. Turn it around Boss. FXO is just like any other korean team. All we see from them are the players playing their games at tournies. Generic interviews etc. (Korean players have alot to learn from MC when it comes to marketing themselves). In general korean players are better. But in general they are boring as personalities.
