Winner of IMMvp vs EGHuk

Q: You've returned to the Round of 4 after four seasons.
A: During those four seasons I kept getting knocked out in the Round of 32, so finally making it to the Round of 4 again makes me happy. I will take this chance and win the tournament.

Q: In the first game, you used a 2 barracks – 1 factory build.

A: The reason I did that in the first game was because I had analyzed Huk's play. He likes to mass sentries, and I thought that if he did that he would not be able to hold this build.

Q: Your opponent used void rays in the second game.
A: Lately Protosses have been using a 3-gate – 1 stargate build to be able to stop 1-1-1 easily. It seems like this is why Huk used this void ray build.

Q: The third game was a macro game.

A: This is what I had prepared for the Best of 5, but Huk had said that he would be able to stop any 1-1-1 build, so the Protosses who practiced with me asked me to 1-1-1 him once. So in the third game I did a 1-1-1 strategy. [T/N no idea what he's talking about here, he didn't 1-1-1 in the third game, maybe the questions got mixed up] + Show Spoiler [original Korean] +

Q: What do you think of Terran being nerfed in the next patch?
A: It feels like there are a lot of patches, but I don't see any significance in preparing for them before they come out. After the patch comes out, I will see how things develop and practice accordingly.

Q: Do you think the Protoss buffs in the patch will be significant?
A: It is only a range increase of 1 [for the immortal], so I don't know if it will be significant. But it would be good if the patch ended up stopping 1-1-1 builds.

Q: Whenever you got through the Round of 32, you won. Do you think you can win this season?
A: I feel like I can win. I feel similar to seasons where I did win.

Q: Who would you like to play in the Round of 4?
A: To be honest, I would like for there to not be a Terran top four. Since there will already definitely be a Terran in the finals, it would be good if July made it to the Round of 4. It's tedious when there are only Terrans.

Q: Nestea's 3 championships seem to motivate you further.
A: When I see that Nestea has won three times, I feel more ambitious. Also, Nestea snatched 1st place in the point ranking with his third championship, and I want to regain it. I need to manage my point ranking for the Blizzcon tournament at the end of the year.

Q: You won two tournaments, but one of them was a smaller prize pool. Is that not a shame?
[T/N GSL World Championship was ~60% the prize money of a standard Code S]
A: Prize money is important, but I don't feel like winning a small prize is sad or insufficient. I would settle for just that, but if I win again I will be happy.

Q: Marineking finished in second place in Code A, your thoughts?
A: Ganzi is really good, so I thought that he would win. I watched the games thinking that, but it is still a shame.

Q: Anything else you want to say?
A: I want to thank NSHoseoSan, TSL JYP, commentator An Joon Yung, IMSeed, IMReady, IMYounghwa, and Ji Hwang. I hope that Yoda and Losira will have a good result in the Up and Downs, and I hope that JYP will rise to Code S.

Winner of STJuly vs SlayersRyung

STJuly
Source = http://thisisgame.com/board/view.php?id=753949&board=&category=13439

Q: After four seasons, you have returned to the Round of 4.
A: I'm really happy. It took me six months to get back into the Round of 4, but it felt even longer. During that time I realized what it's like to be truly inactive.

Q: You won the first two games with aggressive management.

A: Those were the strategies I prepared. I thought that if Ryung lost the first game, he would try to play safe in the second game, so I prepared accordingly and that turned out to be correct.

Q: You had a chance to win the third game, but lost.
A: The third game depended on mind games, but I didn't do well. I should have not produced zerglings and pulled drones, but I made too many zerglings. My desire to end things quickly lost me the game.

Q: Thoughts on the fourth game?
A: All the games turned out the way I figured they would. It's just that I fought too hastily in the fourth game. I planned to use mutalisks to hold the timing attack that would come after my roach pressure, but I used my banelings and zerglings too hastily. If I had engaged 20 seconds later I probably would have won.

Q: You prevented an all Terran Round of 4.
A: This will be good for practice, but doesn't 3 Terrans being in the Round of 4 show that it is a strong race? Also, my opponent MVP is very skilled. I won't just practice hard to beat him, I must practice to the point of death in order to win.

Q: You will face MVP in the Round of 4.
A: My opponent is similar, but now I don't seem to have any advantage. I hope that people will be able to get excited about all the games in the Round of 4. The matchups seem worthy of being finals. If I can beat MVP, I should be able to win the tournament. Even though MVP is usually a better player than I am, I won't just accept that. But MVP is very strong, so the games will be difficult.

Q: What do you think of the upcoming patch?
A: There aren't any big changes to Zerg. But hellions need to be nerfed more. Right now, hellions are too overpowered. In order for Zerg and Protoss to survive, Terran needs to be nerfed. If Terran is weakened, the three races will be balanced equally.

Q: Fans who came to these games criticized your resource management, creep spread, and larva injects.
A: I saved up minerals to get ultralisks. Even if I spread creep, Terran can scan and remove it so I felt like there was no need to do so, but now I see the need and will correct the error. I am confident in my larva injects.

Q: How do you feel this season?
A: It feels like the Gillette Starleague. I felt similar facing Iloveoov in the Round of 4 to how I feel facing MVP now. If I can beat MVP, I can win the tournament.

Q: Lately you've been receiving a lot of interest from fans.
A: It's really nice. I would like it if people stayed interested in me like this. In order to keep people interested, I will practice even harder.

Q: Anything else you want to say?
A: I want to thank OgsTheStC, ZenexByun, ZenexHack, IMHappy, IMYoda, STVirus, STSound, and any players on other teams I can't mention in this interview for their help in practice. Also, in winning today I won a bet with Ye Joon Hee hyung. He is in America right now, but I hope he comes back to Korea quickly and keeps his promise.

July is one of the few players I've seen not max themselves out, and delay the terran while sitting around 150 supply and max on like 8 ultralisks. Then July can remax on ultra ling, which comes out faster and I must admit, is a refreshing style to see. Sort of like pooling for mutalisks on a much grander scale.

This warms my heart to see =)

Ya that July interview... It's like he's spent this season trying to become my favorite zerg or something, shit, idk.
If you can do it; you should do it every time.

LMFAO. Assuming he meant Game 2 ... 1/1/1 because his Protoss practice partners wanted to see how Huk would hold it? That's cruel, man. What happened to the Brotoss lovin'?

Also, July with the Eye of the Tiger. Good luck to him.

hahaha oh July. You dont know the crapstorm you just created on TL hohohoho.

I found it funny how all the other protoss were:

¨Ahh so Huk has a counter to 1-1-1, please MVP do it we need to see it¨

not surprised at all. Watching Huk streams and recent tourneys also led me to believe he doesn't do anything but mass sentries and play blind

July is a true champion. Many players in Code S are just content to hang around, but July sees any season where he's not in the finals as a failure. You could tell since the group selections this season that he has the eye of the tiger again after going through a bit of a slump. Good luck to him! <3

I wonder why Julyzerg says that the changes to zerg aren't big. -15 seconds build time on ultralisks would have made the games way easier for him.
If i remember (and analyse correctly) he stayed around 150 supply in most of the games and tried to delay the terran push as much as possible to get ultras out.
15 seconds less of having to stall and stall should be a big help to his build, shouldnt it?^^
