Excellent move by EG - i believe it has been a long time coming. Team houses are one step towards hitting that practice regime that is most desperately requried (read: MLG). I just hope EG get an onsite coach/team leader that can ensure a strict enough practice schedule. Living together is one thing, but the main difference maker will be the disciple in practice.

Good luck EG!

This. Having a training house seems pretty meaningless without a coach, it is just going to become a frat house the players stream and coach for money from.

Training equals results, but this house doesn't equal training. Ultimately you need to put in the work, and the opportunity to put in that work existed pre-this announcement. The house will help but major attitude changes are required. It isn't a magic fix.

But don't you see that a house does change a player's attitude. It creates a competitive atmosphere encouraging players to train more and be better. I think it would be silly to argue that playing with others under one roof creates more desire to be better rather than just playing by yourself in your house is anything but true.

The way you post you just sound like an EG hater throwing around non-constructive critiques and petty insults so you can express your hate for EG and which I find what makes reddit and TL much worse than they ought to be.

People act like a house changes everything. IdrA and crew have been living together already. Guess what, they still don't practice that much. I want the foreigner scene to succeed as much as anyone, but investing in players that don't bother practicing when they already live together (and why do you need to live together to practice in the first place) is shaky.

Your concern is valid (and I share some of it), but in a recent interview, IdrA said that although taking a small break from hardcore practicing helped him temporarily, he realized he will need to resume his hardcore practice schedule to remain competitive. He also said that the EG house will have a legitimate practice schedule. We'll have to wait and see to see if EG is serious about what they say or if they will still be lax in their practice.

Major attitude fix ->

"Practice 8 hours or we fire you and hire more koreans."

/shrug.

i have to work at my job 8 hrs a day. i think it completely acceptable for EG to ask/enforce them to practice 8 hrs a day.

as far as the Puma situation goes. sir-scoots has said on live on three that they will fly him over for MLGs early so he can
1. get use to the time zone / get over jet lag
2. practice with team before tournaments
i dont think EG will force him to come to the states(to live) tho. if they do that he might quit

Could you give a general location of where it's at? It would be cool if it was within the boundaries of the Papa John's I deliver pizzas for :3

Is this house only for your SC2 players or will it be used by your fifa, cs, and fighting game players as well?

It is great that there is starting to be foreign practice houses and all that but I still believe Korea is the place to be. Yeah there is only the gsl for a whole month over there but the talent pool is amazing and most foreign tournies only last a weekend or so you are easily able to travel to the big foreign tournaments like we are seeing the koreans do now.

Look at the practice partners someone like HuK has compared to idra.

Yeah, I wonder as well whether PuMa will move to the U.S.
And didn't EG had some sort of team house before?
at least I can remember watching Idra in SotG with... I think Machine (or Lz) lurking behind him.

It's a step in the right direction, but the main obstacle in the non-korean scene is that our talent is too scattered into different teams and countries. There would need to be a single monolithic entity for the entire non-korean scene for us to have even a fraction of the talent concentration necessary for Western practice houses to emulate the level of practice in Korea.

Huh...I was skeptical as to how successful this would be in the first place, but if Puma isn't going to be present that severely limits the potential of the training imo. Regardless as to the drama surrounding the pick up, one of the major benefits of Puma joining EG would have been the depth of his experience as a renowned practice partner, and bringing that to EG. Not sure how helpful Puma can be in training if he isn't going to be there in person.

This is awesome! I'm looking forward to more pictures from the inside as well as maybe a video tour of the house?

In the interview with all of the EG members, IdrA said that Puma would be visiting the house around 2 weeks prior to MLG events to help the team practice and get rid of jet lag.

I don't know whether I should be proud or ashamed to say this, but I would totally watch a reality TV show about EG in that house.

lets hope the practice house will let the EG team improve their next MLG performance, mainly InControl and Machine.

Whenever I see what kind of real estate people can afford in the US I'm always shocked. A house like that in Denmark would cost a fucking fortune. Really looks awesome! Hope EG does better as a result of this.
