Server went down mid-game a little bit ago and I was accused of drop hacking. Kinda retarded some people don't realize the server will be going down in there area soon and must assume drop hacks. Btw, this was a diamond level game.

I have til about 5 pm :/ Hope the system is not down long and that this update fixes the drop hack issue or at least results in faster bans of hackers and no false positives. My fear is that I got reported for some random lag out and/or that one person who kept asking HOW DO YOU KNOW WHERE IM MOVING!? HOW DO YOU HACK!? Over and over last night :/

God I hope this is to fix this exploit. I can deal with map hackers, but outright being dropped from the game when winning, I don't think I could take much of that.

It's gonna suck if they lock the ladder according to schedule even though the drophackers completely screwed over the GM league.

See, that's what I'm afraid of. If too many people hack, then hacking will become the new "boy who cried wolf" and just use that as an excuse to why they lost.

I'm just hoping that the new patch breaks the hacks before this happens... :/

It may be extremely difficult for blizzard to fix this. I am not sure how exactly SC2s client-server mechanic works, but for the WC3 ladder it was basically a triangle. You communicated directly with the server and with your opponent. Most of the drop hacks for wc3 really had little interaction with wc3, and were basically DOS programs, they would just spam a bunch of wc3-like packets to your opponent which would confuse the client and cause it to DC.

I hope the problem is being hot fixed today but I have my doubts. Most likely Blizzard is currently working to figure out how the hack works/what they can do to completely stop it. That is why it doesn't appear anyone is being banned yet. There is no point in just banning each individual person when you can get to the root cause of the problem and then just ban en masse.

Seems this problem has come to EU. Alot of people have been dropping even from the lobby of custom games. To me it looks like someone is DOSing their servers or that they've applied some ninja patch that has screewed things up. At one point I was timing out from a game and could still chat in the popup countdown box while it was counting me out also saw this happen to one of my opponents. May be a different issue but first noticed it maybe about a week ago.

Stop messing with my virtual drug supply or I'll come to somebody's house.

Untill they patch the client to stop the hack completely people now will still have suffer and maybe in a more painful way than before.
Before, drop hackers will just drop you out right, but now they will try to play the game, to the point where you are going to destroy them and drop you O_O. If anything, I prefer to be dropped right at the beginning so I can stop wasting my time.

Also, the Korea server had been infected with this hack as well. IntotheRainbow/ Hopetorture was dropped 3 out of his 4 games I watched just a few hours ago...

Rainbow has been playing a LOT on NA recently so maybe he's still there?

Highly doubt that this will stop anyone from buying HoTS or LoTV. Regardless, it appears they have finally taken some action against these hackers, but we need confirmation that the hack no longer works. If they moved/banned them without fixing the hack, then it was all for naught.
