Question for all you experienced Fantasy Leaguers:
Is the -1 point trade tax for each individual player traded, or is it -1 point per week if you trade anybody?
In addition, will next weeks' starting players be announced before the trade deadline is up?
EDIT:
I am also currently experiencing the issue somebody had earlier where they could not trade GuineaPig. Is this a bug, or is there a reason behind this? 1 point per trade
For your second question, I haven't traditionally followed GSTL so I was wondering myself. I don't think it would make much sense for teams to announce their starting players every week, but next week has new teams as well so who knows.

I'm pretty sure the starting players are always known prior to the matches.

I'm trying to trade, but a lot of the players are grayed out, and i can't pick them. Does anyone know why? i cant find any info on this

I was thinking of swapping out Ace for Puma since I'm guessing he's likely to start next week and ST doesn't play for 3 weeks. probably will just wait till that info comes out to decide on any trades. Also being #22 at the moment is kinda cool out of 10k~.
Anyone think san would be worth having? HoSeo plays the next two weeks versus fOu and FXO, but hes kinda pricey at 5 points.

how did you guys know? Man, just watch him play. The first game I saw of his was in the last GSTL against MKP. Watch how he controls his units; always having zerglings to cut off reinforcements but still close enough to flank when he's forced to engage, constantly using speedling counters when the opponent moves out and leaves his natural completely undefended, how he uses mutalisks not just to harass and snipe some workers or structures, but to bring his opponents units into a vulnerable position. He responds incredibly well to what his opponents do knowing exactly when he should be droning, when he should be pumping, and when he should be pulling his queens and dropping 2 spines to defend aggression. It's all the small things that make a good player great. After that game I was blown away and tried my best to find replays of him; he was somebody to learn from for any Z user if he consistently played like that. And for the rest of that GSTL, he did consistently play like that. Incredible player.
Just like MMA, MC, and Nestea are incredible players. Why you pick DRG over the others is because his team is in a very tough division, the rest of his team seems to be pretty weak, and it was likely he would have the opportunity (which needs to be accounting just as much as a players skill) to score a lot of points even as an ace. Teams like oGs, IM, and Slayers, you can't expect them to leave too much for their ace to clean up, simply because they have strong and deep line-ups.
But I can tell you that if Nestea, MC, or MMA get sent out to clean up three players it's just as likely they'll perform equally well.
Question for people that have played FPLs before though:
If a player (with 5 points) is sent out first and loses, but the next person sent out all-kills the other team, do other 5point players on the team take the same trade-value hit as the guy who played and lost? I'm just curious if play and lose has the same affect on trade-value as not getting sent out does.
Also, what's the point of having the line-up appearance point and the loss -point? Why not just call it an ace point and give it to the player that wins the last game in a series?

aLive is now the undisputed ace of TSL. Why in the world would you trade him?

Oh, in that case. I feel sorry for your loss.

Well I haven't played FPL before, but since Losira came on and lost whereas Nestea didn't play for IM but they still have the same value after as before that game it would seem they take the same hit.

22 points with 4 players that haven't been used. Life is good.

Though not sure about Killer being on my anti-team now, though. He's now twice as likely to make an appearance. Then again he lost two main practice partners. I could trade him for:
Lyn Moon TOP Zenio Squirtle San
I'm thinking Lyn because he's bad and his team has a good chance of losing... but... he's so likely to make an appearance. Decisions decisions.

I thought Ryung and Ganzi were both 5pt players on SlayerS but their trade values are slightly different now. Or did something happen in the past week or so outside of the GSTL to affect that?
I'm trying to figure out all the factors that influence trade value after a single series, and by how much. BTW to the people who picked the FUnited players for an anti-team check out your trade options just after the first week. You'd best hope that entire team just bombs every series ; )

Figured out the tradevalue formula:
TradeValue = ( GamesLeft * Salary /5 + 5/9 * Score ) * GamesLeft
It's also true for the teams as well. Essentially the fantasy league is designed to expect 9/25 point scored for every salary point spent, each series. For example, DongRaeGu costs 8pt, thus expected to score 3pts per game. He actually scored 8pt this week, thus revised upward to 4 ( 4 * 8 / 5 + 5/9 * 8) = 43.38 TradeValue.

Ryung was 6, Ganzi 5. You can see their initial value under the $ column in stats.
Yeah, countless people warned about putting them on the anti-team though. But it would appear ~650 people didn't listen in the case of Thorzain and Naniwa, and a lot more for Moon and Lyn. It will be VERY interesting to see how F.U does when they start playing though, anything could come out of that.

Another reason that I think DRG was a good pick is that he seems nearly impervious to early attacks, at least vs Terran. That makes him a lot more stable than a lot of players, as he's less likely to lose to bads.
|
I'm in a good spot now in 4th place but next week is quite uneventful for me and I doubt I will keep my spot. I'm just wondering that if I should trade some of the players that played for me this week? (DRG, Younghwa, Happy, Squirtle, Gumiho and Alicia) Yea I had a good week. Now I have only Hero and Tassadar left. I'm quite confident he will play but not so confident he will win. Problem I see is that I'm quite sure we will see those players play again when it's time and I doubt I can trade back to them. I'm mainly thinking about Younghwa because he didn't really impress me.

Was on 22 points, but upon thinking long and hard (lol not really) about it I decided to trade NaDa on my anti-team for Maka. Both of these teams have, in a way, three top terrans, but I feel NaDa on oGs is more likely than Maka on Prime.
Bit sore about losing 1 point though haha =P

I want to get rid of Killer from my anti as well, but I seriously don't think it's possible. All the alternatives are players who are as likely (or more likely) to play, and they are all more capable of taking games than Killer. Feels pretty sad, since the reason I went for Killer over Trickster on my anti was that Trickster was sure to be played!
I think our best bet is to hope Killer does very poorly so we can trade him for a smarter choice eventually.
