Too soon for a poll like this, yes he played good, but that is no guarantee for the rest of the tournement. Although i think he will be one of the best players this GSTL, it's just not the time to rub 1 result into the faces of the people who didn't pick him.
I'm happy with his points though

Lessons learned : Shouldn't have rushed to pick my team last night.
I don't regret not choosing DRG, but I regret putting him on my anti team :D
And Alicia made me proud :D

I've got Alicia and DRG, This was a good day, cept i chose Slayers instead of MVP, god damn, i chose MVP first, but i had 2 spare points didn't know what to do with them>.<

What makes DRG a much better pick is not that he performed amazingly today, but that the rest of the team looked so lackluster. It's only if they manage to screw up royally like they did today that he gets the chance to get a number of kills. I expected more from the rest of the team, I guess we'll see in future weeks how they perform. My Keen didn't play though, I'm sure when he plays he'll steal all the kills so DRG won't get the chance.

Well, you have to remember that they are using a new format for the GSTL so Slayers still have plenty of time to redeem themselves, and going off past results they should go further than MVP in the tournament. Honestly I think they will just buckle down and practice even harder now that they got a wake up call, so don't be hasty and trade them off just yet.. I expect they'll come through with better results as the season progresses. (Unless you were hoping to trade them after they won this week.. in which case yeah.. it sucks).

This combined with his ability to withstand most cheesy openings is the reason why I picked him aswell. He's often their clutch player with winning several games, not just mma style with the ace match. For me he was an easy choice. The hardest choice was deciding to put him as captain or not. I decided against it, since I'm not sure how far his team will go.
Thankfully I didn't take slayers as team either, because they never really win more then 4-3, which is expensive teampoints for 6 points.

Had to choose DRG or Polt, went Polt. Then again, DRG is more of an obvious ace for MVP, whereas Polt would compete with MKP for that spot.... yea probably should have taken DRG instead.

I actually didn't take DRG, decided to go for Losira instead as I expect him to come out earlier in the matches and get a lot of kills against the weaker teams in the 2nd division.

It doesn't matter much if Polt is the ace or not, I expect MKP to be the ace but that just means Polt comes out earlier, which is good for you.

I think DRG is the best pick. While MVP has managed to beat their hardest opponent in the group, they still had to send out DRG against Prime last season, so I'm sure he'll slay some more nerds before the season's over. The fact that he almost reverse all-killed the (arguably) best team says a whole lot, too.

Coming out earlier isn't necessarily good, because of the 2 and 3 kill streak break provisions. Aces are at their best when their team is weak and you need a streak break and/or a big reverse kill to win the match.

When are the points fro the league updated?

In winners league, the best players are those whose team suck so hard so that they can come out last and sweep the opponent team with a minimal 3 kill.
DRG is one of those people
Look at your other choices
OgsMC, closest to it, however they do have Nada which usually can take a game or two off people MMA, SlayerS have a very deep team with Alicia and others. Poltprime, you have MKP which has the potential to even kill off everyone before Poltprime even can show his face Then you have STbomber, yet July should be able to take off a few games of his opponent team
Now I am fairly certain that there are more players but you get the point.

oGs is actually a fairly deep team with a lot of unheralded and good value players, like theSTC and Hero.
I'm fairly certain that MKP is still going to play as Prime's ace, and will come out after Polt.

one of the reasons i picked him though even im surprised he swept ganzi, boxer and mma..
guess it shows how close MVP was to winning GSTL

I'm more surprised Cella sent Terran after Terran against DRG in what is arguably his best matchup. Min or even Frozen would have had a better chance.

wow, didn't expect so much from DRG.
Updated the results for the first game.

I only regret I didn't decide to play "trading teams". It would have been a beneficial game, because the order of matches means some teams start with relatively easier opponents, and other teams end the season with relatively easier opponents -- and this doesn't count towards the adjusted values, like the number of remaining matches does. So it would have been a good(&safe) idea to start with a team that starts easy and then switch to a team that ends easy - if all went accordingly, the value of the initial team would be higher when you switch. I'm sure many people will do that and get about 10+ points secured with very little risk for the cost.
