The compLexity Academy is thrilled to announce that after receiving over 70 applications we have now selected the top 20 players who will compete for the 10 spots in the inaugural class. The tournament will take place on Saturday, June 25th, 2011 and will be a BO3 double elimination event.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has applied. Going over each and every application has been extremely difficult, as a majority of the applicants were evenly matched. There are several applicants not on this list that were in the running until the very last minute and it really just came down to some very minor things. I sincerely hope that all who applied will take part in the first expulsion tournament. Once again, I just want to thank everyone for taking the time to apply and I wish everyone luck on their development and future with Starcraft2 and the Academy.
All selected applicants have been contacted by Mr. Shane and will need to reply with the requested information before their journey will continue. Thank you to everyone who applied for the inaugural season of the compLexity Academy. If you weren't selected, keep your head held high and remember that there will always be another opportunity right around the corner!
Also, remember that we are still looking for the official caster of the Academy. If you, or somebody that you know, is an up and coming SC2 caster, be sure to apply today!

Yea, but you dont have to be under contract to play in a team league, and I know that a lot of the lesser teams dont bind players to contracts.

I'm taking this from the original Academy search post:
1) An internal ranking system will be implemented. The initial ranking will be determined by a Ranking Tournament amongst the players. Every 3 months the bottom 4 players in CA will compete in our Expulsion Tournament with only the winner remaining in CA. The other 3 spots will be filled via an Open Recruitment Tournament (2 spots) and by an invite from Mr. Shane (1 spot).

In no way is this an attempt to take them away from the relationships or friendships they already have, but the players applying for the opportunity want to try it out for at least 3 months.
So in the end no during the 3 months of the academy they will not be able to participate in the other team leagues, but after they are welcome to.

Nope those will be open for anyone in at least Masters or above and at least 18 years or older. Those will start in about 3 months, when a more concrete date is set it will be posted.

Under founding format on the original post you will see that you have to sign a 9 month option contract, as I explained a few posts ago once you fall out of the academy you will be released from the contract and free to join any previous team you were a part of. While in the academy you can take part in stuff with your old team as long as the academy is not participating in the event.
You are welcome to continue practicing with them, and keep whatever tag you have in game while in the academy. So the contract can last anywhere from 3-9 months (academy) or longer if the option is exercised in which you will be given the full pro contract along with the new computer from Orgin.

Just a quick update for everyone, we are still trying to get in contact with goswser, jhammy, and Jedigamer. If anyone happens to be able to contact them and let them know it would be much appreciated. We have emailed all of them but have yet to receive responses.
Once we get a reply, I will be able to go ahead and form the brackets so everyone participating can prepare as best as possible for the event. If we do not reach these players in time they will sadly have to be replaced.

This has been brought to my attention from quite a few sources now, but it's more about how you act once in the academy then previous records. The type of behavior I have been told about will not be tolerated by me, but it's also my job to have them control it. So I hope the people that are very much against manner like that will be able to see an improvement in the players behavior once in the academy.

1. He gets rejected.
2. Rages and spams your players on battle.net/clan channel

With all of the players coL has now I really was thinking that hey would be way more concerned with who they brought on.
I'm still extremely jealous of how much money the complexity organization has to play around with. It is awesome to hear though how much you guys put into the growth of ESPORTS. You also need to realize that even if they get into complexity that reputation will still come with them. Either way I can't stand all the crying about BM in today's game anyways. Just saying.
