Hey, TL! Underline Entertainment is back with a new parody song to follow up "FLY LIKE AIUR" - this time, from the Terran point of view. "ON YO' CREEP" is a parody of The Lonely Island's "On A Boat" featuring T-Pain (you might have heard of it, lol.. and if you haven't, here's the link). Without further adieu, here it is:
Im not sure why you felt the need to censor all the swear words. One of the reasons why Lonely Island songs are so funny is because of the ridiculous profanity used, especially in I'm on a boat. Apart from that it was good though.
Lol I heard this song a few days in advanced previewing it and it is definitely one of my favorite SC songs yet Great lyrics to go along with an epic song
Cool parody. Many parts fit it well and gave me "nerd chills". However even though I might feel bad for saying this but part of the charm of the song is in it's "mature" language. Scratching out those words, while understandable, does change the song. I don't like that impact it has on the song but I can see why you would do it. I'd just like to request an "uncensored" version then for those who feel the same as me. Eitherway cool production, good quality
It was great, but seriously, reupload without the censors. Your audience is a bunch of nerds in their late teens or twenties, I doubt we'll be offended.
This song was amazing. You guys do parodies of awesome songs, and always seem to make them better. Where'd you find the beat for this? I wanna write a parody and can never find beats that I like
Very impressive I saw the thread and didn't think it could stand up to the Lonely Island's creativity, but you did it, and since starcraft 2 is awesome, that just made it that much better.
On May 30 2011 11:12 redFF wrote: Im not sure why you felt the need to censor all the swear words.
I kinda understood it as reaction to the whole "Casters shouldn't talk like they talk, what if a 12 year old kid hears yet another person yelling 'fuck'?" issue that's been going on.
Nice song, would be nice if the the uncensored version would actually be available for download on your bandcamp page though.

"On a Boat" isn't really a parody, it's just a funny song... It pokes some fun at rap cliches but it isn't a direct parody of something specific...
I see no reason to disregard this because it's a "Parody of a parody" even if it was, but in this case, it isn't even that.
Yeah, censoring all the swear words just shows that Underline (or whoever commissioned/ordered this neutered) didn't really understand what made the original song so hilarious.
It's pretty bad like this. I think the uncensored version would be a decent re-work of I'm on a Boat..
edit: even worse if this was done in response to the casting language standards thread. Like DjWheat said, it makes people look like (and I quote) "fucking morons".

Cursing didn't make the original song funny. It was a parody of an entire genre of music, done incredibly well, about something ridiculously silly. Only 12 year olds think cursing is funny.
You could censor "On A Boat" and it would still be funny.
Really fantastic production, but excluding a couple of bars, I wasn't really feeling the lyrics that much..but very nice job nonetheless (Fly Like Aiur is still my clear favorite, though).

...no it wouldn't be nearly as funny. The parody of an entire genre of music only worked because of the copious amounts of cursing involved about something as simple as being on a boat.
Absolutely amazing production quality, but I can't agree more that censoring kind of butchered the flow, and especially for this type of audience we are a much more mature community and I would hope that we could handle it.
Anyways good job and keep these coming they are amazing :D
10/10 great video, it always add to the quality when effort is put into the video. you do the best job of making it sound like the original song, meter-wise and "singing"-wise with your guys' songs... I remember the fly like aiur one. sickk

And how exactly does I'm on a Boat parody the ridiculous mannerisms and elements of the rap genre? If you say that the explicit language used to describe/hype something completely trivial is not a vital part of the parody, it looks like you didn't really understand it either.
It would still be funny censored, but not as funny and not as on point as a parody. Since this rework banks entirely on people's previous knowledge of I'm on a Boat, having it censored like this while the original is uncensored, completely defeats the purpose of this parody of a parody.

I GOT MA BLUE-FLAME, DOING DRIPPY-DROPPYS.
Yeah I agree with this. It would have been a ton better if you didn't censor any of the swear words, especially since they're used so often it just makes it feel weird with them all censored.
Other than that good job! I like it.
Also glad to finally see some Terran love for once on these forums and SC-themed parodies. It's felt for so long that either Terran's quite disliked or Zerg/Protoss are way more loved in general haha.
"I split like Debo" haha epic. You guys should have asked Debo to sing this with you. I hope he does it on his stream anyway <3 For those of you who don't know the epic Debo micro:
I knew this song would be kickass the moment I saw the thread. Underline is sooo good at this, they also make them sound almost exactly like the originals, it's amazing.
Very nice, but why is it censored? :S Like people who watch this doesnt know which words you mean. Either dont censor it or use words that the Americans can tolerate imo.

oh so when sc2 is getting dissed from bw enthusiasts its ok, but when bw is you have a problem. gtfo
1- Most BW enthusiasts don't even diss SC2. They don't even mention it. 2- There is a good amount of people who watch and play both games and there is even better amount of people who played and watched BW before SC2 came out.
For myself, I'm one of the "good amount of people who watch and play both games". I'm D+ zerg at iccup, silver zerg at EU, a fan of Woongjin Stars, CJ and Lt clan as well as MvP team and its "parent" clans (see ProS clan and MvP clan, I also like NL clan because of Avenge). Seeing one game dissed by enthusiasts of another one never feels good for me.
They censored it because they had to... make it more community friendly? You can listen to the explicit version on their website.
Let's face it, this thread is now spotlighted, and it's not going to be a great image if people see an explicit song featured on a community-friendly site like TL.net.
Not saying that's it's not good, I started singing it on my second listen, I listened to "I'm on a Boat" way too much

You guys did a really great job. Nice work. However, I'm not sure if this was the best song to parody, as it in itself is a parody of hip hops over use of profanity.
You guys are awesome, been a follower for a long time now, glad that NASL is partnered with you cool people. Looking forward to seeing you @ columbus <3
This one is so great, even better than fly like aiur.
Is it possible to get a noncensored version? The excessive censoring is a shame since its such a good song otherwise. definitely my favorite parody so far :D
Am I the only one bored out of my mind by these sc2 parody songs? It's a nice production and all, but I feel like it's just a thing people do to get more people visiting their site. That's not necessarily a bad thing, but the passion has certainly gone because of it.

I know right, how dare people have a good time with SC2, put time into making fanworks and then have the audacity to link TL to their youtube channel.
It's one thing to not like the song but come on "the passion has certainly gone", it's a parody song not some epic poem.

Well, pretty much any parody song is amazingly terrible in it's essence, but situations and passions give people another reason to listen to them. I like the reason I'm listening to a song being the same reason that person made the song. This is often true, even for parody songs. However, that's not the case here.

For whatever reason that they made this song it amused me and even made me laugh. I don't need to speculate about their underlying "passions" to enjoy it.
Also given that this isn't the first SC2 fansong they have made I'd hazard a guess that there might actually be more to their motive then looking for a quick buck.

I totally respect your first two lines. I didn't tell you to speculate like that. You next two lines seem quite contradictive to me though.

With all this lame swear word censoring in the song why even have swear words? I just find it fucking stupid to me, and even to censor it, people who arent stupid still knows that fuck is being said occasionally so it has no real effect whatso ever other than not saying these "dangerous" words outloud. No doubt I'm brilliant for attempting to have this argument on a notoriously condescending forum. It's all relative to the country you live in anyway. In the US swearing in elementary school makes you sound like you come from trashy parents. Censors do their best to keep the words out of childrens' reach for that reason. It's closed minded to compare everything to your own cultural standards. Is all of this necessary, no but it's how the country's media developed.

if you're really into music, why not just write actual starcraft songs instead of basically ripping off other people's music and replacing some words with starcraft terms?
Looping this for the foreseeable future. Already have all lyrics memorized and I've just found about this, subscribed, following, etc. just for this, so well done.
