SjoW replace BoxeR DreamHack is sad to announce that Lim “SlayerS BoxeR” Yo-Hwan will not attend Stockholm Invitational 12th of April 2011.
Earlier today his management informed us that Lim Yo-Hwan is in hospital after “acute enteritis” that was diagnosed yesterday after dinner. Hopefully he’ll get better soon and DreamHack hope he will have a quick recovery. But he will sadly not be able to catch his flight tomorrow morning and go to Sweden for the StarCraft II tournament.
DreamHack, as well as SlayerS Boxer himself, apologize for this sudden change and any inconvenience for the fans attending the event and also the fans following online:
“Lim was looking forward to attend his first European tournament; thereby it is even sadder, that“Acute enteritis” is stopping him from participating.” Says Jessica Kim
We wish Lim Yo-Hwan a speedy recovery and hope to see SlayerS BoxeR at any of our future events.” Says Tomas Hermansson, Head of Esport DreamHack.
European Champion from Sweden replace BoxeR This of course gives the 8-player Invitational tournament an open slot. As SlayerS BoxeR play Terran and with only Jinro as Terran in the tournament we searched for a replacement and found the Swedish IEM Europe Champion – Jeffrey “SjoW” Brusi from Team Dignitas. The 24 year old Swede will certainly give the fans a perfect show (yes, SjoW is pronounced “show”) with stable builds and a non-scouting playing style.
Brusi has been one of the best European players since the release of Wings of Liberty and he will fight for pride, honour and the 100 000 SEK on the line. SjoW will face Canadian Protoss-player HuK in Round of 8 of DreamHack Stockholm Invitational.
Enteritis: refers to inflammation of the small intestine. It is most commonly caused by the ingestion of substances contaminated with pathogenic microorganisms.
Boxer I hope he gets better, he's always been such a fun player to watch. But I also love Sjow so everything went better than expected as long Boxer feels better.
Oh man since Korean ocean is contaminated by Japanese nuclear waste, I hope boxer didn't eat sushi or anything. Right now, people living in Korea has to really watch what they eat.

You realize that the amount of nuclear waste in the ocean around Korea is minuscule, and that radiation poisoning doesn't cause gastroenteritis...? It's usually the result of a virus.
And yeah, enteritis really sucks. Hope he recovers quickly.

American news and media tbh.
It sucks that this happened to our beloved emperor. QQ. Get well soon Boxer, we love you.
Ouch, that sucks for Boxer and anyone who was planning to go to meet him. Sjow is a great terran though so it's not going to change too much in terms a competition.
acute generally means short duration / not as serious as compared to a chronic disease, so hopefully Boxer will be alright. I might be wrong on these definitions, but yeah.
Awe damn. I know Boxer must have been really excited since he wanted to finally visit Europe. I was really looking forward to him finally stomping a tournament this time. Hope he gets better.

Yeah, enteritis is usually acute, meaning it comes and goes really quickly, either killing you or ending abruptly. It's self-limiting, meaning it usually stops before it kills the victim, so as to allow the virus to spread more. It's not life-threatening in places that have proper drinking water.
For me it lasted 4-5 days maybe, but the exhaustion lasted a lot longer.
I hope it isn't a serious problem, get better soon Boxer.
As a side note, I find it kind of funny that Sjow is coming in as a replacement. one of the top 3 Terrans in Sweden, at least before TSL started, would get you an auto-bid into your nation's biggest tournament.

Get your pitchforks.
SjoW may be better (which is debatable), but he doesn't have the same name recognition as BoxeR on the scene. Also it's BoxeR's first Euro tournament (as far as I know), and that's pretty damn cool.
I'm pretty disappointed, even though MC vs Europe will be interesting enough. I think that Boxer is severely underrated once he gains a little more stability in his tactics. His micro delivered some incredible scenes at GSL, a few minutes of pure genius. Would've been really cool seeing him in Europe

These are the only players capable of reigning MC in...
No offense to SjoW...but he isn't in the same tier or calibre... :/
You can't just bring someone in from Korea on this short notice. I thought that would be kind of obvious.
If the point was to pick someone who can beat MC they wouldn't have picked Boxer. It makes sense to pick SjoW, he lives in Stockholm, he's Terran (like the guy he's replacing) and he's by no means bad.
