http://www.reddit.com/r/starcraft/comments/gaziz/gstl2_champions_interviews/

Edit: About Cella saying that he qualified to Code A ... I believe this is wrong but translator said that there is no mistake in translation. Literal translation from korean interview will be "I've attained the right to participate in Code A this time." So, no idea people, sorry

Interviews with BoxeR, Cella, MMA and Alicia.

Found the interviews at PlayXP and translated them.

If any translations are unclear or there are problems with formatting, please tell me!

Interview with BoxeR and Cella. Korean Source

Your thoughts on winning?

Boxer: I’m really happy that the players played so well, and I feel that they’ve improved so much over such a short period of time. It’s hard to make the players realize their own character, but I’m very happy because it seems like we’ve become the best team.

Cella: Personally I don’t think I’ve made many contributions to the players in regards to skill, but they’ve tried so hard to benefit the team, and I’m extremely thankful and happy for that.

What are your future plans?

Boxer: So far my efforts have been to help the players realize that SlayerS is truly a pro team and to help them realize their own character. The contributions and preparations that Cella provided us are immense, especially in preparation for the new patch. As a new team, we want to show a modest and diligent image.

This is something I wanted to say before the matches: we’re not a weak team, but anyone would guess that IM is going to win, but in the perspective of the audience, it’d be more entertaining for the weaker team to win over the stronger team. However, we are no longer a weak team. We wish to remain as a modest team, a team that will continue to improve.

Any ambitions you had prior to the matches?

Boxer: My wishes were to prevent the team from wholly revolving around me, and to introduce the players and our teamwork to the audience and fans. The hardest part of the tournament was to suppress my desire to play. I tried my hardest to keep myself from telling Cella this during the finals.

Compared to the other teams, SlayerS’ players took an abnormal amount of set up time.

Cella: We wanted to allow the players to perform in the most perfect conditions and to allow them to play to their fullest.

Boxer: I apologize if the other teams thought it was disrespectful and in the next league we’ll make sure to compensate. I think it was result of poor communication.

Plans for the next season?

Boxer: Even though we became the champions, we are still a new team so we won’t be cocky about it. We’ll continue to reach for the top, so during the next league we’ll throw away our self image as champions and start over.

Many fans are saddened and worried that you’ve dropped down to Code A.

Boxer: It’ll sound like an excuse but I’ve been contemplating a race change as of late. These thoughts have affected my play harshly even during the matches. I realize it’s a wrong way of thinking and I’m concentrating on practicing instead. I’m trying very hard to return to Code S and I do not wish for my fans to worry too much.

Anything else you’d like to add?

Boxer: We were able to win because each player was able to pull their own weight, and for that I want to thank them. I want to thank Gayeon (<3) and our house lady for always taking care of the team. I want to thank our sponsors: Razer, Hosan ENG, EXR, Dong-ah Ocheuka and Intel. I also want to thank our fans who support us and want to ask for further support in the future.

Cella: In this GSTL I’ve concentrated my efforts as a coach. I now want to concentrate as a player. I’ve qualified for Code A in the upcoming season (I BELIEVE THIS IS A MISTAKE BY TRANSLATOR). Though I originally planned to enter Code S in 4 months, I’ve changed the plan to 6 months. I feel that even the coaches must be of high skill to understand the players’ hardships and to sympathize with them. I will try my hardest.

Interview with SlayerS MMA. Korean Source

Your thoughts on winning?

Extremely happy. However I feel like I’m merely feasting from my teammates’ efforts again like last time.

Were you planning to play against Mvp?

I was preparing to play against him. 70% of my preparations were for Mvp, while the other 30% was for Nestea and LosirA.

You must’ve felt very pressured since you were the last player.

I’ve prepared and practiced for the map Dual Sight for a long time. I had confidence in my build and had a good win percentage among my teammates. The build I used today was a recommended by a friend named Yoon-Sung-Hoon and I want to thank him.

You’ve beaten oGsMC and IMMvp in this tournament!

All three of us are former Brood War players, but I lacked results compared to the other two, so I really felt I had to win. I’ve prepared more intensively because of this. It also feels nice to see that former Brood War players are doing so well.

Previously, no one would’ve guessed that SlayerS would take the tournament. Any secrets?

Our team spends a lot of time communicating and sharing information, and I think the results are starting to show.

It seemed like a one sided series in the beginning!

Alicia played so well and I was certain we had a good chance once he took out LosirA and Nestea. We were fully expecting IMYongHwa to be sent out in set 4, which was all according to our plan.

It seems like you’ll be pressured in Code A due to your GSTL performances.

As a pro, I feel that I’m obligated to show good results in the individual league since I’ve performed well in the team league. Thanks to our sponsors, I won’t have anything interfering with practice, so now the only thing left is to show results.

Any plans for next season?

I’ll return stronger and more ambitious than before. I’ll make sure to have no one label us as a weak team.

Anything you’d like to add?

I want to heavily thank BoxeR, Gayeon and Cella. Razer has come to every GSTL match to cheer for us and I think it helped a lot. A shoutout to my family: I love you guys!

Interview with SlayerS Alicia Korean Source

Were you expecting the impressive 3 kills?

I was only planning to win the first set.

The fourth set was very close

The game started out well for me, but my overconfidence got the better of me.

Your victory over Nestea was surprising!

When I scouted the 3 hatches, I knew I couldn’t let the game go any further, so I ended it with the early attack.

Your future ambitions?

I now want to show good results in Code S. I regained my confidence thanks to the 3 kill.

Who is your role model?

BoxeR. I want to become a player like him.

Were your builds today improvised?

The first match was improvised, but in the second match against LosirA, I had the feeling he was going to baneling bust.

It seemed like you might have been going for an all kill.

I let my guard down due to the 3 kill.

Anything you’d like to add?

I want to thank BoxeR, Gayeon and our house lady. Also a shoutout to my parents, love you guys.

Boxer now has his own team to keep his prestige up; a race change right now would be excellent timing. Boxer's macro needs some work so zerg doesn't seem like an option, even though a creative zerg player is so sorely needed.

So much heart in this team. They knew they were the underdogs coming in and that didn't stop them from absolutely mopping up IM. I am excited to see every one of them play, especially Cella now that he is in Code A. Heck I'm sure the whole team is so inspired after this victory that they all will be practicing even harder and will do well.

BoxeR can sure make a great team. He certainly is one of the best at scouting amazing prospects.

Cella hasn't yet qualified for code A, those qualifiers are this upcoming weekend. must be a translation error of some sort, maybe he's saying he's eligible to go to the qualifiers (since the spots are limited)

Thanks for the post. Love BoxeR and his "we can't get to far ahead of ourselves" attitude. Making a great role model for his team and the SC2 community as a whole.

Hope Cella makes Code A but, I will be blown away if Ryung and Min don't.

It would be great to see a super micro focused zerg who didn't focus his entire game plan on macro, but his play style seems to be better suited to protoss.

about the translation, you have to be a certain ladder rank to even try for code A, there are a limited number of entries into the preliminaries even. i'm certain that's what cella meant.

Wow... a potential race change for Boxer?! I am assuming he is thinking of Protoss given his strengths... but that's crazy!

On another note (though I'm not trying to derail the thread) it seems like there just aren't enough Code A and Code S spots for all these amazing players.

"Your thoughts on winning?

Wow, MMA is so modest. He was definitely the key clutch player, though I definitely feel like the community is almost unfairly overshadowing players like Ryung and Alicia, who actually did the most work getting wins in the oGs/IM matches, which allowed MMA to clutch against a tired champion at the end. It's cool to see him acknowledging that. I respect the guy.

SlayerS is such an awesome team to watch :D

Wow Boxer race change. I don't think he should be constrained to stick with Terran though. It'll feel weird, but it's a new game. I'm thinking me might switch to Protoss.

Aw Cella changed his goal to 6 months Well, as long as he accomplishes it heheh :D

and yeah that makes more sense, he probably means he is Code B so he is able to be in Code A after qualifiers

Watching the boxer's wings video, boxer's wife/girlfriend gayeon is an amazing lady. Besides being pretty hot, she probably knows everything starcraft related besides playing it, getting everything set up, meeting with sponsors etc etc. Given how impressive Boxer's team has become over the last while I'm not surprised Boxer's going lower, losing his own skill but making three insane players in Ryung, MMA and Alicia is well worth it I'd say. I want to see Boxer teach cheeses though, Boxer's cheeses are probably the most entertaining of them all.

sad that boxer might switch, couldnt think of him playing anything but terran =(. i think that if he does swtich he would probably play protoss, i dont see boxer playing zerg at all. the macro aspect and lack of ranged units and spells just dont fit his style at all imo.

So many young talents with so much humility. Inspiring. I expect these young lads to go far. Boxer always had a hunch when it came to recruiting future star players.

Yea I think he was being really modest lol, defeating a 2 time champ and another champ when it really matters is huge for the team. It's the kinda captain you'd want for a team, when the team needs it he is there to step up to the plate and show them how it's done :p

Nooo boxer you mustn't change races D: You are the Emperor and an emperor can only play terran cuz who ever heard of a Zerg or Protoss emperor lol. MMA's interview was fine, but Boxer needs to train Alicia on giving more detailed answers during interviews. Hopefully all the slayers members start showing better results in the next GSL.

He's so baller, easily my favourite player in both code A and Code S, can't wait until he makes it to code S, hopefully continue's to live upto the standards of a legend killer!

"and I do not wish for my fans to worry too much."

Omg, he is such a nice guy :D
Gogo, you can do it!

Also, would be weird to see Zerg Emperor or Protoss Emperor... huh, i hope terran gets some serious change before the disaster could happen.

No, how the hell would that look.

BoxeR without marines?

If he changes it's definetely to toss. BoxeR isn't known for macro and idk how that would work playing zerg.

stop worrying he only said he was thinking about it, BUT realised this is the wrong way to go about playing this game;

A Boxer race change would have been mind blowing lol, great interviews though and I hope Boxer can fight through Code A to reclaim his Code S spot, while Cella can make his way into Code A too! (I'm presuming he means he's eligible to try qualify for Code A (you have to be a the top of the KR ladder)

MMA has such a great attitude, fingers crossed he is able to maintain his level throughout next Code A and doesn't slip up early =)

Great interview! I was so happy that SlayerS won and it was inspiring to see this true underdog story unfold live in front of me. I wish nothing but great success to SlayerS in the future and I hope I can get a SlayerS shirt if they make them . Thanks to SlayerS sponsors Razer, Hosan ENG, EXR, Dong-ah Ocheuka and Intel for supporting them and eSports.

He guys, the translator here.

Since a lot of people were pointing it out, I looked into what Cella said about him being in Code A. Here is another source of the same interview by different reporters. In his version of the interview, it doesn't say anything about Cella qualifying, only that he's planning to enter Code S in 6 months.

God luck to Cella for his qualification to Code S. Boxer's interviews are always inspiring. What an elegant man with impeccable manners. We need more human beings like him. MC should start taking notes.

A boxer race change would kill me inside, as a huge boxer fan and a fellow terran player, but based on the rest of that statement, it seemed like it was just frustration and venting.

Good interview all in all. I'm looking forward to seeing MMA!

Wow, BoxeR continues to show that he has an eye for talent as the leader of this team. He showed it in BW and he's showing it in SC2.

Honestly, the race change thing has me a lot more optimistic. Why? In his autobiography, BoxeR talks about his major slump in BW, noting that it was basically all a mental thing (a crisis over having fun with life, feeling like he's progressing in the opposite way [work before fun], etc. etc.). In light of that, I think that once he gets over this race change thing by either getting into the Terran groove again or switching (undoubtedly to Protoss since that was his first race and would also be easier to go to from Terran) he'll start doing a lot better. I mean, he's still in the GSL and is still a pretty good player, and that's with the slump. Some people would kill to be in Code A right now.

BoxeR and SlayerS fighting!

BoxeR really is a great role model and team manager. He can spot great talent in his players and also motivate them to beat such massive teams in the GSTL, many more successful team leagues to come I think.

Also, BoxeR as Protoss would really be incredible, but strange at the same time.

If Boxer switches to Protoss I can just imagine the ridiculous things we'll see with stuff like Hallucinations and Warp Prisms and whatnot... But I hope he doesn't switch.
