Well, Im a SC Fan from El Salvador (in Central América, the smallest country of América), and TL has been always my source to all the info I needed about StarCraft for many years, so I want to share with you something I did just because I love StarCraft.
This is the C-14 Gauss Rifle of a Terran Marine, yes Im a Terran player xD The the model design was made by Aliens Papercraft in 2008, all the credit to them by making it posible.
It took me 4 moths to finish the whole the thing in my free time between University and other social stuff, from cutting, molding, and pasting over 228 parts for the rifle, and 64 for the stand, all made with Bond Paper Plastified. This thing literaly has parts of me LOL.
Acording to Aliens Papercraft is 1:1 Size, and in fact is big. still haven't taken a photos with it xD feels so amazing that I would ruin the photo hehe.
Take a look:
Just about to finish!!
I Hope you like it!! its was a real challenge for me.
Edit: Here is 1 photo with some of our community members from the Finals of our national sc2 league yesterday, you can see the actual riffle size, sorry for the camera's flash on the screen xD the man who took it isn't that skilled taking pics lol, and I didnt saw it right away to retake it.
I am the tallest, left to the guy (Belcebez) who holds the rifle, he is our campion league.

Dude, with talent/dedication like that, you shouldn't be sorry for anything! That model is awesome and your english isn't even bad either. Really cool.
I tried making that for blizzcon 08', it was so difficult that I literally raged out with all the meticulous cutting
congrats for actually finishing it, I'd recommend now making a cast out of it and then making an aluminum version so you can tot around a giant gauss rifle with some real weight : p

the point of the pistol grip is for a marine with no power armor to be able to hold it, i think. in the books there were 2 triggers and stuff to accomodate people not wearing armor so it wud make sense
I would preffer to buy it as well. The print alone is quite expensive and then the work. Jeez I gave up after 2 months of cutting. It's not hard to do, it just takes time and you have to be a bit perfectionist. I found that 30 minutes of cutting or so worked best for me, else it has driven me crazy and then with the parts cutted I started to build it. It's not that hard to do
Thanks everyone for your comments!! I think the most important thing to finish it, is patient, you need a lot, luckely I have a lot and Im a bit perfectionist too, both helps to make a nice work, for me the most dificult part is the pasting phase, cuz you have just 1 try to not fuck it up with the super glue I used that pastes in just a few second xD seconds trys takes longer.
I took photos of some pieces in the process, maybe I can uplode some of them if you want.
This material allows to make it without problems, is hard enough to stand for itself. I tried to add some 3rd material to make it havier, but I didn´t feel it necessary and if those things unpaste later, I couldnt take them off without destroying the rifle.
I dont think the awesomeness can truly be appreciated from pictures though... I would probably have to hold it in my arms and feel like a marine before I could truly know how great this is haha
Whoa. That is awesome! I want that to take to school and to pretend to blow people up, with cows. I should actually try that, if I had that much free time left.

I dont know man, I did this because I wanted it for me and without time limit, making for money wouldnt be the same, and yes, the shiping would be a real problem.

Would you mind uploading those pics? I took a look @ this and its really confusing. I wanted to make this outta something more durable. like. plastic or something.
What do u think? Too much bending? Plastic too ridgit?
Would you post a picture while you are holding it in your hands? You said it is in 1:1 scale so I would like to see how big it looks like when a human holds it.

EDIT:
It looks impressive. Well done.
I uploded a picture with someone holding it in the main post so you can see it, I think it could be a bit bigger to reach what would be the real 1:1 size.
I can said I have hold this beauty and is the feeling is amazing, words can't make justice to it...
great work Jaco, I witness it creation progress in Facebook and the result is just mind blowing also it attracts girls, ask Jaco all the girls that wanted to help him with this project... or maybe that was just Jaco's charm hahaha...

LOLOL nop, indeed it is that awesome that gets girls wowed xD just kidding, I had a little help from a girlfriend in a really hard piece to cut.
I started mine back in july 2010 and I should be finished with it in a few more weeks. I didn't touch it at all for about 2 months (too busy playing sc2). With about 225 pieces I would say I have put anywhere from 75-100 hours into this project.
This was my first ever papercraft project and it is a huge undertaking. Not only do you have to cut out all of the pieces you have to fold all the tabs and fold the pieces correctly. I have made some mistakes but nothing too major. It will be very nice once it is finished and I will be spraying mine with a clear lacquer when it is complete so the ink doesn't run if it gets wet.
There have been times when I worked on this for 2-3 hours with very little to show. I just wanted to let people know that this can be done but it will take up many hours.

Yep I think the most difficult part is to have the time and patient to finish it, its not too hard, but it require dedication, and of course there will be mistakes, is just to big to not make them xD, but fortunately you can hide them.
I also stopped like for a month or month and a half because of University study, and I could´nt play SC2 as much as I wanted cuz my PC is too old xP i think that helped to finish it more quickly, mine is already plastified, all the impresions were made in bond paper and then plastified to give consistance and protecting the ink.
Im looking forward to yours! let us know when you finish it, then there is going to be at least 3 Gauss Rifles in the world xD (counting the one the alienpapercraft original model maker did).
