GomTV will be live broadcasting the Starcraft 2 All-Star Tournament held at the GSTAR 2010 Convention in Busan BEXCO Exhibition & Convention Center (11/18~11/21).

The Starcraft 2 All-Star Tournament will be played by 16 specially invited progamers. (T)SlayerS_`BoxeR`, (T)oGsNada, GSL Season 1 winner (Z)FruitDealer, and 13 other popular progamers will all be competing for total prize pool of ₩15,000,000 (~$13,330) and the title of being the best Starcraft 2 player.

The possibility of another dream match between ‘The Emperor’ BoxeR, who drew in more than 300 live spectators and over 2 million VOD views in single day for the GSL Season 2 Tournament, and ‘Genius Terran’ NaDa has drawn in many eSports fans’ attention for this event.

The single-elimination tournament will be held on the main stage of Blizzard booth at the convention, providing the best spectacle at the GSTAR 2010 Convention with 4 matches played daily in two sessions (between 11:30~13:30KST and 16:00~18:00KST). The finals of the tournament will be held on the last day of the GSTAR 2010 Convention (11/21) at 17:00KST.

Starcraft 2 All-Star Tournament will be available live online at GomTV for all the eSports fans unable to attend the event.

Thanks a lot for this! I'm totally rapt to see Fruitdealer there as well, being my favourite player and all that. He's had plenty of time to practice since being eliminated so early so I expect to see some new tactics from him

Do you guys think that NesTea is going to be invited as well? I mean his the champ you know...
I don't think I've ever wished my opponent good luck prior to a game. When I play, I play to win. I hope every opponent I ever have is cursed with fucking terrible luck. I hope they're stuck playing underneath a stepladder with a black cat in attendance a

I'm sure I'd rather see old BoxeR versus new BoxeR than old BoxeR versus NaDa again. But both would be nice.
High five :---)

They could just do the top 8 from the two GSL's. The only player in both was HopeTorture.

They could just invite the top 8 from the two GSL's + 1 wildcard (since Hopetorture made both Ro8) and call it a day.

1. NEXLiveforever
2. MakaPrime
3. FruitDealer
4. oGsInCa
5. sSKS/Tester
6. HopeTorture
7. oGsEnsnare
8. HongUn
9. Foxer/Optimus Prime
10. Kyrix
11. Genius
12. NesTea
13. SlayerSBoxeR
14. Nada
15. Zenio

+

16. Check or Idra

That would be a pretty good lineup.

This makes sense.

Man that would be sick if Idra got in on this. He deserves it too. After all, someone's gotta be the bad guy amirite? If it went to Check I wouldn't be too upset though, either one of them are worthy of being in this group, and Check is slightly ahead of Idra on qualification points for S-class I think.

Well, depending upon how they divvy up the rest of the spots doing it by their rankings wouldn't be a terrible idea. After the GSL s3 qualifiers they'd have an even better picture of their rankings... might as well use them.

I think Idra should get on it. He's not a giant name in the GSL so far, but he's made major waves in the western pro scene. He's the only MLG winner who has ever had moderate success in GSL.

... and the title of being the best Starcraft 2 player.

This is kinda weird. With NesTea being the current GSL champion, I'd consider him the best (or at least one of the best) SC2 player(s) at the moment.

Well you can't really judge who is the "best player", take FruitDealer for an example, a defending champion losing in the round 32. Maybe the "most consistent player" would be the best. But then again, the name All Star sounds much cooler so yeah it can attract more viewers.

it's just the nature of a hype article to say the players are competing for the "best of" title

If they're gonna make it an all-star competition they might as well invite the big BW names like SangHo and July.
