75% of games I play are against zergs now. The current poll isn't surprising me.

I played Zerg up until the patch. However, with the most recent balance patch, I disapproved of the changes and thus have since switched to Terran.

Did people switch? Or did more zerg players migrate to Teamliquid, or did people see Fruitdealer's awesome GSL and switch, or did 1.1.2 give zergs such a buff that people moved en-masse to zerg? We may never know.
Also, I wonder if all these new zerg players is the cause of me finally learning ZvZ, or just good timing by me :D

I've been playing Zerg since release but I'm thinking of switching to Protoss. I like the macro style of Zerg but it's pretty damm difficult to figure out what exactly I'm doing wrong at times.

Not really surprising, tonnes of people switched after the Zerg buffs. I'm assuming a goodly number of those were Terran players, which would account for the lack of Terran as well as the abundance of Zerg.

I'm getting sick of playing ZvZ on ladder. Most of the time I just go 8pool, then roaches, then quit after 6 minutes. It's not fun when you play 5 straight vZ, man. It's getting boring fast.

I main Terran and play Zerg sometimes for fun... tried some Zerg today... went 7 straight ZvZ's before rage quitting.

Now I dont know how to interprete this poll compared to analytic sites like sc2ranks etc... who state that zerg is played least... I mean of course these sites track all players but i hardly doubt the TL community is so much different from the international trend. seems very strange to me xD. I suspect a lot of people are fascinated by zerg cuz of the way they work, and what a challenge it is to play them (Im playing Zerg myself). But I dont think this poll is very honest 
although i really have to admit there are a LOT of zvzs I play and I dont find it funny -.-
but i didnt know NA servers had the same issue as EU

I am currently playing Terran, but I will very likely switch to P or Z after the first ladder reset. And once again after the second to the remaining race. And finally to random... at least that's the long term plan...
I think many players who started out with one race will try another race as their main one sooner or later. Having so many Zergs in the poll makes sense, since Zerg is hyped a lot since Fruitdealer winning the GSL. If I would switch now, I probably would also try Zerg.

Agreed. That's why I use my ZvZs for fun and just do whatever build seems most interesting or annoying. Right now that's an 8pool (only 6 lings) -> roach -> muta. I really don't care that much about losing. :p
ZvZ used to be my worst matchup but it's really has been getting easier.

Friend of mine who plays zerg (~1k diamond) was yesterday complaining about so many ZvZ mirrors he suddenly had to play, and how absolutely terrible these zergs are.. people must be switching to zerg everywhere.

Always <3 Zerg for lore and aesthetic reasons, will always support them, and it works out that I'm more of a macro-oriented player and they're the more macro oriented race.
The fact that I'm a silver scrub with low APM is not exactly helping me with all the stuff you have to keep track of when doing zerg macro, but I'll get it eventually. In the meantime, I will remain true to the Queen of Blades. :D

This poll and your last thread are very surprising. I would have never expected Zerg to be such a high %. The numbers pre/post patch are almost identical..crazy.

1700 toss here, recently just switched over to zerg, sitting around 1400 around almost a month of pract.

Ive played zerg since Starcraft 1 as my serious race and likewise I have played random since starcraft 1 when doing team games/fooling around. Somethings never change.
(note by starcraft 1 I mean starcraft 1not Brood War)

Have been playing zerg since the beta and dont plan on switching. For almost a week after 1.1.2 came out I got more ZvZ's than any other matchup but it has since went back to being pretty much even, thank god :D

not for me! I get probably 60-80% ZvZ mirrors now, and can't stand it. I miss playing a ZvZ 5-10% of the time.

The stats changed so little, it's almost negelible. The only difference between the polls at this point is that 1% of the players switched from random to terran.

TLO has swapped to Zerg and is planning to play Zerg in future GSLs... In fact, he's most likely playing Zerg in the coming MLG too.
with more top players playing Zerg, maybe that could explain (w/o going into balance reasons) why fans are making the switch too.

Those sites I assume use "most played" to decide which race you are. If someone has like 500 games under his belt before last patch, it'll take a lot of games to go from one race to another on those sites.
Terran, would be quite hypocrite to switch when times are a bit tougher(mind I'd prob have switched zerg before 1.1.2 if ZvZ didn't seem so shite). Shame if we've perm lost morrow/TLO though. A lot easier to let them do all the BO making and copy them

i play Zerg as well and im really happy that many others switch too because i really prefer ZvZ over ZvT even when others find it boring but its honestly the most variable matchup where you dont have to go FE in every single game

We've already had an entire, huge thread on this, so I figured it was put to rest, but apparently not:
TLO did NOT just randomly switch like we're talking about with everyone else. He started as Random. He went to T/Z. He went to T while still playing Z. He chose Z since he had always like it most.
MorroW, on the other hand, is a total traitor.

maybe i should play protoss now. started as terran, play zerg since 1.5 months (before patch). i still have the feeling that my protoss could be strong though .
