This is just what happens when you only have 2-3 big teams and everyone glory hunts one of the top two anyway. No one cares about the vast majoirty of the football games played in La Liga.

I know Chelsea declined an offer from Amazon/Netflix for this kinda documentary as well, i am sure other clubs have declined it as well.

It literally is showing absolutel everything which is crazy in this day and age. I know Chelsea declined an offer from Amazon/Netflix for this kinda documentary as well, i am sure other clubs have declined it as well. You call it "selling out", but I'm not sure it is at all. Judging by the reactions, there is a huge demand for knowing what actually happens in the dressing rooms of "top clubs" with "elite managers". Guardiola doesn't seem like someone who cares too much that other people know how he runs stuff, and I'm sure the clubs were given the opportunity to heavily edit/censor parts: the "documentary" casts quite a flattering light on City as a whole. And it's obviously also easier to show an "all access" video when the results speak for themselves. Chelsea had a terrible season. Showing Conte yelling at people in the dressing room would just add insult to injury, whereas Guardiola yelling at people in the dressing room was concluded with one of the most dominant PL victories in a long time. E: just to be clear, I'm basing this on reviews and the short clips that I have found for free around the internet, I haven't watched the full thing yet.

acrofales has a point about season performance though. you dont wanna air your dirty laundry like that especially if you have nothing to show for it. dunno which clubs got approached and who accepted, but to me it makes sense that only 1 documentary is produced and its city. although this could just be a pr move because city needs more fans hehe

Yes you can sensor it down a bit but you cannot sensor everything or their would be nothing to show xd The approach was to several clubs i know Chelsea declined and saying it makes sense being City..well don't forget this was all "started" before the season began last year after Chelsea just won the league and City did not etc lol. Saying it makes sense from that point of view is a bit short sited! But yes, it worked out well in the end as City flew to record points and win tallys and thus you get more content when they are winining.

Now that City won last season people will surround this documentary on "how a club should be run by a manager". But what if this season or the next City end up only top4 or maybe even outside it. Will we see any differences (probably not) on how Pep manages his team?

Pep does not want these things coming out at all, no way would he want any of his training or tactics being leaked anywhere or how he trains. All which are partially in this documentary etc. That is what i meant by selling out, just to be clear. However it is clear that Amazon threw a lot of money at City for this which they felt they couldn't turn down etc. There's a shitload of information out there on how he trains, what he does differently, and how he analyses matches. Pep Confidential obviously has quite a lot of info, but his frigging entire gameplan for the 2007-2008 season with Barça B is freely available. There's also Pedro Mendonça's book and a few others, who had rather free access to talk with anybody they wanted to. He doesn't really seem to care if people know what he does or how he does it. Of course, he probably wouldn't want his analysis of some team and the gameplan to combat them being made public just before they have to put it into practice, but he doesn't seem to care if it is made public after the match is over.

Like i said i am not against these i would love one for Chelsea but i know it aint never happening lol. I just thought that one of main reasons was because managers/coaches do not want to give tactics/training methods or whatever away in that much of an indepth way, but i guess as you said with Pep he doesn't mind as every game is specific and the documentary comes out after the game has played.

I think some of the scenarios he faces would change on a less succesful season and it would be interesting to see how the Pep leadership and philosophy apply to those scenarios. For example right now it would be interesting to see how Guardiola approaches the De Bruyne injury, both with the player and the team in mind.

regame yesterday, zenit wins 4-0 in regular time and goes up to 8-1 in extra time - and playing with 10 players after the 66th minute. (at which point the scoreline showed 2-0). I didn't watch the game buut.. sounds interesting!

I've seen him come on Sky Masterclasses and basically spell out everything he is thinking and planning doing during games with Carragher and Neville. Hes not Naive enough to believe that opponents dont already analyze the shit out of what hes doing. The general theme of Guardiolas philosophy is no secret, its the minor adjustments and even those hes been willing offer insight to and hes always iterating in small ways that make a difference (as do other big managers). Hes really open about very obvious mistakes or bad judgement calls when hes lost aswell. (like the time with the Bayern drubbing by Real he did a whole bit on how and where he fucked up.) Its just that hes not going to overly apologize for it .. and neither does any other manager. Nor should they. No great manager is going to tear down their entire philosophy just because they fail sometimes.
