I mean it's a pretty sick situation... they own the team, it isn't like Jeannie can make them sell their shares. Basically now they can reap all the rewards of the team succeeding and take no blame for the team losing because they aren't involved in running the team anymore. It's great~

not always the money. maybe they really like doing what they do, they might not be good at it tho. for some people it could be about being important and the social standing.

When I went to the Rockets-Spurs game, I got a headache by half time. If I were to see another one, I'd go with soundproof headphones and try to find a caster to listen to.

experience the triangle in its purest form. the media only reports on the most extreme reactions. if a player's reaction was "its ok i guess" .. or "i prefer it with music but it was ok"... that stuff never gets reported because its boring.

in last year's thread i wondered aloud why more tall guys with horrible free throw percentages didn't at least experiment with underhand. Pretty sure the world record best free throw shooter does the underhanded thing. a few kinesologist guys claim there is more room for error in the underhanded toss.
anyhow,
Chinanu Onuaku has the balls to try it. He was a horrible free throw shooter in college before switching to underhanded. As a pro he is shooting ~75% underhanded. 83 for 112.
i hope this catches on especially with big guys really struggling with their free throws.

i subscribe to the idea and i'm glad to see it in action. When did i say it was my idea? the underhand toss has been around since the free throw itself.
i like to "pay attention to outcomes". its part of what makes the feedback loop of Blizzard's software development process so amazing. most of the games do not attain greatness until long after the retail ship date.
this guy is in the D-League; it would be pretty amazing if his improved free throw shooting 1 year in the future makes the difference between another year in the D-league and getting a NBA level contract.

Obviously, the problem is that if they allow it, it will quickly become popular and then expected, so it will be de facto mandatory.
I'm fine with in practice/games. I don't think they should have to wear that shit all day, though.

Getting really tired of this mantra. Paying attention to outcomes is not jerking yourself off in front of people every time you go potty. I pay attention to what I have said, adjust for mistakes and move forward, there's no need to broadcast small successes to prop up my ego. If an opinion is worth listening to, people will realize it for themselves. It would be fine if your predictions were more ambitious, but you suggesting bigs should try underhanded ft's last year is something no-one here gives a shit about or is remotely impressed by. You also tend to only pay attention to positive outcomes. I can't remember the last time you paid attention to something you got wrong.
